Welcome Message
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to participate in the 10 th Annual Scientific Sessions of the China
Interventional Therapeutics in partnership with TCT, CIT 2012, which will be held from Thursday, March
15 th through Sunday, March 18 th , 2012 at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing. CIT 2012
is organized by Chinese Medical Association, CIT Board of Directors, Chinese Society of Cardiology, and
Cardiovascular Research Foundation, and co-sponsored by PCR, Complex Cardiovascular Therapeutics,
European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Intervention, European Society of Cardiology, Sociedad
Latinoamericana de Cardiología Intervencionista, Angioplasty Summit - TCTAP, Cardiovascular Research
Technologies, Asian Interventional Cardiovascular Therapeutics, New Cardiovascular Horizons, Division of
Medicine and Health, Chinese Academy of Engineering, Cardiovascular Society of Cross-Straits Medicine
Exchange Association, China Cardiovascular Promotive Association, Hong Kong College of Cardiology, and
Chinese Medical Journal.
The theme of this year's CIT is "Practice and Optimization". Under the core concept and direction, CIT 2012 will
offer more than 1000 didactic presentations, 500 abstracts and 50 live cases in its three-and-half-day program.
The grand opening and exclusive plenary session will take place in the morning and the result of late breaking
trials will be released in the afternoon on March 16 th , 2012. Comprehensive didactic sessions will feature four
major areas of interventional cardiology: coronary, endovascular, structural heart disease, and heart rhythm.
Sessions are designed to provide information and resources that can be immediately translated into improved
patient care.
As the largest interventional cardiology meeting in Asia Pacific region, it is expected that more than 5,500
experts, cardiologists, radiologists, vascular medicine specialists, industrial partners and other health
care professionals with a special interest in the field of interventional cardiology will attend the meeting.
Participants will have the opportunities to share scientific information and the latest advances, to exchange
expertise in interventional cardiology, to renew our friendship, and to increase worldwide collaboration. CIT
2012 will also provide a unique opportunity for the industries to exhibit their new products and to contact with
the cardiologists more closely.
Most importantly, CIT will be celebrating its 10 th anniversary in 2012. I cordially invite you to join us in Beijing
to witness the unforgettable historic moment and to discuss the growth and development of interventional
cardiovascular therapeutics in the Asia Pacific region.
Looking forward to welcoming you at CIT 2012!
Sincerely Yours,
Run-Lin Gao, MD, FACC, FSCAI
Professor of Medicine
Chairman, China Interventional Therapeutics (CIT)
CME Information
CME Accreditation and Designation
The China Interventional Therapeutics is accredited by the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education of
Ministry of Health of China to provide continuing medical
education for physicians. This education activity has been
designated for 8 national category-1 CME Credits in China.
Six hours of physician participation in CIT equals 1 credit.
Documentation of awarded credit is provided for registered
attendees in exchange for completed activity evaluations.
Certificates of attendance are provided to all registered
attendees. The following activities are not included in the
official CIT CME program: luncheon workshops, evening
symposia and interventional vascular simulation sessions.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the congress, participants should be able to
Relate the results from important clinical trials and
evidencebased medicine that guide the management of
patients with atherosclerosis and structural heart disease
Integrate new interventional techniques and procedures to
the care of patients with complex coronary artery disease,
peripheral vascular disease, structural heart disease, and
heart rhythm
Integrate appropriate pharmacological management in
the care of patients undergoing diagnostic angiography
and interventional therapies before, during, and after
catheterization
Distinguish between new interventional technologies and
propose their appropriate applications to patients with
cardiovascular disease
Target Audience
This congress is designed for interventional cardiologists,
radiologists, clinical cardiologists, basic scientists, vascular
medicine specialists, surgeons, and other health care
professionals with a special interest in the field of
interventional vascular therapy and medicine.
Activity Evaluation
Evaluation by questionnaire will address content,
presentation, possible bias, and future educational needs.
Disclosure Statement
It is the policy of the Chinese Medical Association to ensure
balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor in all
of its sponsored educational programs. Commercial support
from industry does not influence educational content,
faculty selection, and/or faculty presentations, and, therefore,
does not compromise the scientific integrity of the
educational activity. Discussion of off-label product usage,
and/or off-label product use during live cases, is made at the
sole discretion of the faculty. Off-label product discussion
and/or off-label product use is not endorsed by the Chinese
Medical Association or the course directors for this activity.
Faculty participating in continuing medical education
activities sponsored by the Chinese Medical Association are
required to disclose to the program audience any real or
apparent conflict of interest related to the content of their
presentation(s). Faculty not complying with this policy are
not permitted to participate in this activity.
Program Sponsorship and Support
The congress is sponsored by Chinese Medical Association,
CIT Board of Directors, Chinese Society of Cardiology,
and Cardiovascular Research Foundation / Transcatheter
Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT), and partially funded
through educational grants from commercial supporters.
The CIT strives to ensure that its programs are as educational
as possible and free from bias. To support this endeavor, CIT
director and co-directors create organizing and scientific
committees to assist in educational content development
and content oversight for live cases, concurrent sessions,
case reviews, workshops, and scientific symposia. These
sessions are developed without influence from commercial
supporters.
