Happy 2013!
2012 the Year of Dragon has
been a very busy and exciting
year for us. The much awaited
Gardens of the Bay was
opened to the public and a set
of stamps were released to
commemorate this new
exciting addition to our
Singapore Skyline. In August
2012, we were swept by the
excitement and euphoria of
the Olympics Games as
Singapore won two bronze
medals in Table tennis. A set of
4 stamps were released to
commemorate the Games of
XXX Olympiad – London 2012
and a special limited MyStamp
were released to mark
Singapore historic win!
The Panda craze swept over
Singapore as we welcome the
two adorable Giant Pandas,
Jia Jia and Kai Kai, from the
People’s Republic of China,
who will be here in Singapore
for the next 10 years. We
marked the occasion with a
set of 3 stamps wonderfully
illustrated by local international
artiste Edmund Chen as well
as a series of limited edition
panda-related products for
our collectors.
Limited edition MyStamp
featuring the hugely popular
Avengers as well as the ever
iconic Stars Wars were also
CHEERS
TO
2013
released. On behalf of
Singapore Post, we would like
to thank you for all the support
and patronage.
The Year of the Snake would
also be another colourful year
as we strive to put together an
exciting selection of stamp
designs and introduce some
new and exciting printing
techniques in the stamp
designs! The 2013 stamp
programme will kick off with
the Zodiac Series – Snake
followed by the nostalgic walk
down history as we featured
the Historical Railways Stations
of Singapore. Do check out for
the interesting stamps to be in
released in June as we
celebrate 50 years of Greening
of Singapore. A new Singapore
Skyline will be featured in the
National Day stamps and we
would be partnering Vietnam
and France for two joint issues
this year!
