Aura Light’s core competence is to develop, manufacture<br />

Long Life Lights. The concept holds our patented solutions<br />
distinguished by light sources with extra long life. We have<br />
been in the light source business for more than 75 years,<br />
and our long experience is the basis for our professional<br />

guarantee, as well as an environmental guarantee. Long Life<br />
products are distinguished by extra long life, resulting in low<br />

We produced the world’s first Long life lamp as early as<br />

Aura ULTIMATE Long Life fluorescent lamp is the result of intensive research and continuous development<br />
efforts. Aura ULTIMATE Long Life is a tri-phosphor lamp with the worlds longest service life and an extremely<br />
low lamp failure rate. This unique T8 lamp sets the standard for products with an extended lifetime. Aura<br />
ULTIMATE Long Life has a service life of 48.000 hours when operated with magnetic ballast with starter<br />
and 70.000 hours when operated with electronic ballast.<br />
Aura ULTIMATE Long Life gives you the lowest possible operating costs for your lighting installation. It<br />
enables you to make big savings in areas with high ceilings or difficult access to luminaires, or where a<br />
production stop to replace lamps is expensive. Aura ULTIMATE Long Life gives you better control of your<br />
replacement costs and makes it easier to schedule lamp group replacement.<br />
Aura ULTIMATE Long Life is developed based on our patented cathode shield construction. This design<br />
provides a unique fluorescent lamp with an exceptional long service life combined with an improved<br />
end-of-life protection against overheating. Wherever a Long Life solution is an advantage, especially in<br />
environments with high ceilings, hard to reach luminaires or cost intensive replacement areas.<br />
Aura ULTIMATE Long Life is available in several versions – all with the same cost-effective burning time.<br />
In close partnership with customers in various sectors, we have designed special versions for different<br />
applications – e.g. signage and cold, dirty or sensitive environments.<br />
Aura ULTIMATE Long Life has the same characteristics for electrical operation and light technical data<br />
compared to other T8 (26 mm) fluorescent lamps. It fits in all luminaires developed and installed for T8<br />
lamps. The Aura ULTIMATE Long Life range is designed for operation with electronic ballast (preferably warm<br />
start) and magnetic ballast with starter. Aura ULTIMATE Long Life is a high colour rendering tri-phosphor<br />

Aura T8 Eco Saver Long Life is the first energy saving fluorescent lamp in Long Life version. This means that<br />
you save both energy and maintenance, i.e. your energy consumption could be as much as up to 12 percent<br />
lower. In addition you can still use your existing luminaires designed for T8 lamps. This makes this unique<br />
lamp a suitable solution for customers who want to reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs in a<br />
simple way.<br />
Our proven Long Life concept saves you at least 2 out of 3 replacements, as our lamps burn at least 3<br />
times longer than standard products on the market. No other supplier can provide you with a combined<br />
energy saving and Long Life solution.<br />
Besides saving money, you are also reducing your CO 2<br />
-emissions. Therefore, this light source is ideal for<br />
environmentally conscious customers who want to reduce the effects of their operation on the environment.<br />

efficient lighting for less critical applications. Aura UNIVERSAL Long Life gives you a service life of 36.000<br />

In some areas, it is not that difficult to effect a lamp replacement. Aiming to offer a lighting solution that<br />
is cost-effective even in these environments, we have developed Aura UNIVERSAL Long Life. It is perfect<br />
for application areas where a Long Life solution is recommended, but the actual replacement is not too<br />
cost intensive and the luminaires are not too hard to reach. Aura UNIVERSAL Long Life puts you in control<br />
of your costs and makes it easier to schedule lamp group replacement. The combination of Aura UNIVERSAL<br />
Long Life and group replacement gives you an excellent opportunity to reduce the maintenance costs for your<br />
lighting installation.<br />

Aura T5 Long Life High Efficient is a Long Life fluorescent lamp ideally suited for applications where highquality,<br />
energy-effective lighting is required and lamp replacements are difficult and costly. Aura T5 Long Life<br />
HE is a 16 mm diameter Long Life tri-phosphor fluorescent lamp with a service life of 48.000 hours. This is<br />
three times longer than standard T5 HE lamps.<br />
T5 Long Life HE is the perfect solution where you need the energy saving- and system miniaturisation<br />
characteristics of a T5 lamp. It offers extremely high efficiency and therefore maximum value.<br />
The Aura Long Life fluorescent lamps are based on our two special patents for a new unique cathode shield<br />
and an inside protection layer. Operation is only possible with electronic ballast (warm start) in luminaires for<br />
T5 HE lamps.<br />
The T5 Long Life HE is recommended for places where the lamp replacement is difficult and the total costs<br />
of operation are high. It fits in all luminaries developed and installed for T5 HE lamps. Aura T5LL HE is a<br />

Aura Thermo Long Life fluorescent lamps are designed specifically for environments where the ambient<br />
temperature is low. The unique construction contains a Long Life fluorescent lamp cased in an outer glass<br />
tube.<br />
The outer glass tube provides a thermal insulation which results in excellent high light output at low<br />
temperatures. At -20°C Aura Thermo Long Life lamps produce up to five times more light than standard<br />
lamps under the same ambient temperature conditions.<br />
The Long Life fluorescent lamps are based on two special patents. One for our unique cathode shield<br />
construction and the other for the inside protection layer. All Aura Thermo Long Life lamps have high quality<br />
tri-phosphor colours with excellent colour rendering of Ra 85. The starting characteristics of Aura Thermo<br />
Long Life lamps are excellent at low temperatures.<br />
Our Aura Thermo Long Life lamps with a basic 26 mm Ø fluorescent lamp in the outer tube are available<br />
with ULTIMATE and UNIVERSAL. Operation of these lamps is possible with magnetic ballast and starter or<br />
electronic ballast. They are available in two different sizes; T8 (Ø 26 mm) with an outer glass tube of<br />
Ø 38/32, and T8 (Ø 26 mm) with an outer glass tube of Ø 32 mm.<br />
Most popular is the 38 mm outer glass tube which is the former standard diameter of fluorescent lamps.<br />
These lamps with the so-called T12 diameter are very well utilised in luminaires developed for low<br />
temperature areas. Aura Thermo Long Life lamps with 38 mm outer tube have the best light efficacy at<br />
low temperatures.<br />
An alternative for applications where the 38 mm does not fit in the luminaire is the Aura Thermo Long<br />
Life lamp with 32 mm. This version is developed for luminaires for 26 mm lamps. These Aura Thermo Long<br />
Life lamps produce up to three times more light compared to standard 26 mm lamps.<br />

New creative developments and constructions for low temperature and outdoor areas are now possible with<br />
Aura Thermo Long Life lamps based on the latest lamp technology of T5 Long Life lamps. With a special design<br />
inside the 16 mm T5 LL lamp integrated in the 26 mm outer glass tube it is possible to reach the same<br />
extremely high level of light as the Aura Thermo Long Life lamp with 38 mm Ø. Standard T5 lamps are<br />
based on a different concept for indoor lighting application in small sized closed luminaires where the<br />
ambient temperature is high. The shape of the end caps is G13 to fix the lamp and outer tube in best<br />
condition but the connection pins are G5.<br />
The lamps fit well in all luminaires designed for standard T5 HE and HO for use in functional areas (with the<br />
exception of luminaires where the dimension is extremely minimised). In places like outdoor signs or cold<br />
stores T5 Long Life Thermo opens the field for new developments and offers the opportunity for energy<br />
saving operations. Operation is only possible with electronic ballast designed for T5 HE or HO lamps.<br />

Aura Protector Long Life is a fluorescent lamp with a multiple lifetime compared to a standard lamp. The<br />
protector function is reached with a high quality durable plastic protection film. The plastic film protects<br />
critical areas from glass splinters and fluorescent powder in case of lamp breakage.<br />
Aura Protector Long Life lamps are developed for areas that are subject to specific safety requirements<br />
for protection of production of sensitive products. In these areas a breakage of a fluorescent lamp would<br />
cause a production stop and this interruption proves to be very costly.<br />
Aura Protector Long Life is available with two different protection films:<br />
• FEP - a transparent plastic film without affecting the luminous flux. The plastic film offers an optimal<br />
protection in the wide temperature range where the lamp can be used from -40°C up to + 150°C with a<br />
lifetime at least equal to the lamp.<br />
• PET - an upgraded plastic film with the extra advantage of UV radiation absorption of 97% of UV-A and 99%<br />
of UV-B. This leads to a limited lifetime of 30.000 hours and limited working temperatures from<br />
-30°C up to + 120°C.<br />
Aura Protector Long Life is developed based on our patented cathode shield construction. This design<br />
provides a unique fluorescent lamp with an exceptional long service life combined with an improved end-oflife<br />
protection against overheating. It is available in T8 (26 mm) and T5 (16 mm) diameter and in the high<br />

Aura Reflector Long Life fluorescent lamps are developed for use in applications where a sufficient level<br />
of light must be available through direct or indirect reflection. The design with an integral horizontal reflecting<br />
layer of 160° inside an outer glass tube provides additional more than 60% of light at the place where it is<br />
needed. The construction is the same as the Aura Thermo Long Life solution. An Aura Long Life fluorescent<br />
lamp is cased in the outer glass tube which creates a thermal insulation.<br />
Aura Reflector Long Life lamps are an optimal solution in applications where the reflectors are dirty or<br />
missing, or dusty environments where lamp replacement is difficult and time consuming and the overall<br />
operational costs are high.<br />
An additional area of use for the Aura Reflector Long Life lamps is indirect lighting where the lamp has to<br />
be fixed in a way that the light is directed into the fitting or on to the ceiling.<br />

In applications where the ambient temperature is low and additional safety characteristics are needed the<br />
THERMO PROTECTOR LONG LIFE is the perfect solution.<br />
The 38 mm diameter outer tube of THERMO with a 26 mm energy efficient LONG LIFE fluorescent lamp inside<br />
is covered by a plastic film to safeguard from glass splinters or fluorescent powder in case of lamp breakage.<br />
THERMO PROTECTOR is a simple solution and easy to install in outdoor applications where protection against<br />
vandalism is needed but the installation or the luminaires are not prepared for this.<br />
The plastic film with is made with PET plastic. The main characteristics are lifetime of 30.000 hours, UV<br />
absorption of 97 % of UV-A and 99 % of UV-B. This plastic sleeve protects from pollution if the lamp is broken.<br />
After the burning time of 30.000 hours we recommend the replacement of the THERMO PROTECTOR lamps<br />
because the PET material will loose its stability and we do not guarantee the functionality.<br />
Application areas are production facilities and warehouses as well as train stations, subways etc.<br />

The Aura Signette Long Life fluorescent lamps are designed to give internally illuminated signs a uniform<br />
distribution of light. A 26 mm Long Life fluorescent lamp is contained in a 38 mm diameter outer glass tube.<br />
Inside the outer tube are specially designed diffuser layers integrated to give optimised light uniformity both for<br />
single- and double-sided signs.<br />
The construction is comparable with the Aura Thermo Long Life lamps. The thermo insulation effects<br />
significant high lumen output at low ambient temperatures compared to standard 26 mm fluorescent lamps.<br />
Aura Signette Long Life lamps are available based on basic 26 mm Ø fluorescent lamps Aura ULTIMATE<br />
Long Life which are integrated in a 38 mm Ø outer glass tube. The excellent characteristics of the ULTIMATE<br />
lamps and the most optimal lighting effect of the Aura Signette Long Life diffuser layers are combined to<br />
an exceptional product range for use in outdoor signs.<br />
Two basic versions are available:<br />
• Aura Signette-D Long Life: two layers opposite of each 80°.<br />
type A = diffuser layers horizontal to the socket pins.<br />
type B = diffuser layers vertical to the socket pins.<br />
• Aura Signette-S Long Life: one diffuser layer of 100° horizontal to the socket pins.<br />
Operation is possible with conventional or low loss ballast and starter or electronic ballast. Starting<br />
characteristics of Aura Signette Long Life are excellent, even in cold environments.<br />
Aura Signette Long Life lamps are mainly directed for use in sign boards. The diffused light distribution<br />
optimises the overall image of the advertisement and the direct intensity of the lamp is very low. The lamp<br />
replacement in sign boards is time consuming and the operational costs are high.<br />
The different placing of the diffuser layers allows easy installation to realise the best positioning of<br />
the lamp in the signs. The operation is similar to common fluorescent lamps and the use is possible<br />
with standardised equipment. The available Aura Signette Long Life lamp types are described in the<br />

Aura Miniature Long Life is a 16 mm diameter Long Life tri-phosphor fluorescent lamp with extra long<br />
service life. It has a lifetime up to four times longer compared to standard Miniature lamps.<br />
The Aura Miniature Long Life is developed based on our patented cathode shield construction. This<br />
design provides a unique fluorescent lamp with an exceptional long service life combined with an improved<br />
end-of-life protection against overheating. Aura Miniature Long Life 8 W and 13 W are designed for use in<br />
standard luminaires and conditions for Aura Miniature Long Life fluorescent lamps. Operation is possible<br />
by magnetic ballast with starter (as specified in IEC/EN 60081) or electronic ballast.<br />
Aura Miniature Long Life 8 W is especially developed for use in standard emergency luminaires. The<br />
installation has to be according to EN 1838. The lamp is designed and tested to operate on a 24-hourburning<br />
cycle and accommodate all testing requirements of the EN 1838 specification.<br />
The Aura Miniature Long Life is available in colour /840 with a high colour rendering of Ra 85.<br />

Aura Super EX Long Life is a 26 mm diameter high quality tri-phosphor fluorescent lamp with a special<br />
single pin cap Fa6 for use in luminaires in explosion proof areas. The construction of the Aura Super EX<br />
Long Life originates from the special application sector where safety is of paramount importance. The Aura<br />
Super EX Long Life must be operated by special electronic ballasts. The lamp ignition gives an effective<br />
cold start without preheating. The connection through the special unique dimension single pin cap prevents<br />
sparking effects when the lamp ignites. Compared to ordinary standard lamp single pin T12 38 mm<br />
diameter fluorescent lamps the Aura Super EX Long Life range gives the advantages:<br />

Aura UNIQUE-L Long Life is a compact flourescent lamp with all the Aura Long Life benefits. Developed on<br />
base of the best available components and excellent processing they achieve a multiple lifetime compared<br />
to standard lamps. Aura UNIQUE-L Long Life are patented on platform of the Aura specific cathode shield<br />
construction and the inside protection layer. They are available with high-quality tri-phosphor colours /830 warm<br />
white and /840 white with high colour rendering of Ra 85.<br />

The lamps fit well in all luminaires designed for standard compact fluorescent lamps TC-L and can be easily<br />
installed. The version Aura UNIQUE-L Cool Long Life is common in some regions to use in public outdoor<br />

The complete UNIQUE range of compact fluorescent lamps offers you energy efficient light sources with all<br />
the Aura Long Life benefits. Developed on base of the best available components and excellent processing<br />
they achieve a multiple lifetime compared to standard lamps. The UNIQUE-S, D and T are patented on<br />
platform of the Aura specific cathode shield construction and the inside protection layer.<br />
Aura UNIQUE Long Life are single-capped compact fluorescent lamps. They are based on bended discharge<br />
tubes and are connected by bridges. UNIQUE-S has one, UNIQUE-D has two, UNIQUE-T has three discharge<br />
tubes.<br />
The UNIQUE-S, -D and -T are designed for operation with electromagnetic ballasts and contain in the cap<br />
construction a starting device. The UNIQUE-S/E, -D/E and -T/E are constructed for mainly operation by<br />
defined electronic ballast. Therefore the cap has a 4-pin connection. With electronic dimming ballast they<br />
work very well in dimming applications.<br />
Compact Fluorescent lamps Aura UNIQUE-S, -D and -T Long Life are prepared for general lighting<br />
applications, especially in applications where lamps are burning for long periods and the lamp replacement<br />
is difficult and time consuming or disturbs running processes. The electrical characteristics as well<br />
as the compact size and lumen output of UNIQUE-S, -D and -T are beneficial for use in offices, shops,<br />
restaurants, hotels, hospitals, public areas, boats, buses and trains, in parks and car parks, small signs,<br />
under crossings, for task lighting, ambient lighting and emergency lighting. Besides this broad range of<br />
applications UNIQUE-D, D/E and UNIQUE-T, T/E are very favourable for use in down lights.<br />
UNIQUE lamps have the optimum light output at +25°C. The burning position is not restricted. In<br />
installations the main use is like this:<br />

The lamps are able to work in dimming operation by using the defined electronic ballasts and equipment.<br />
It is recommended to start and operate the lamps for 100h on a 100 % level to stabilise the lamp process<br />
and then to dim down.<br />
The lamps fit well in all luminaires designed for standard Compact Fluorescent lamps TC-S, TC-S/E, TC-D,<br />
TC-D/E, TC-T and TC-T/E and can be easily installed.<br />

Aura SODINETTE Long Life lamps are the result of intensive research and continuous development efforts.<br />
These are lamps with the longest possible lifetime and extremely low failure rate. This unique high pressure<br />
sodium lamp sets the standard for products with an extended lifetime.<br />
Aura SODINETTE Long Life has a lifetime of 48.000 hours based on a 12h switching cycle and when<br />
operated with magnetic ballast and separate ignitor. Operation of high pressure sodium lamps with specific<br />
designed electronic ballasts is also possible.<br />
Aura SODINETTE Long Life gives you optimal operating costs for your lighting installation. The very high light<br />
output and the long lifetime enables you to achieve big savings. In areas with high poles or difficult access<br />
to luminaires, or where a stop to replace lamps is expensive this is a beneficial choice. Aura Sodinette<br />
Long Life gives you better control of your maintenance costs and makes it easier to schedule lamp group<br />
replacement.<br />
Aura HPS Long Life lamps are designed for operation in existing installation infrastructures. They are<br />
complying with the relevant standard IEC/EN 60662. The geometric data are comparable.<br />
HPS Long Life lamps are available with a colour temperature of 2100 K. The colour rendering index (CRi) is<br />
Ra ≥ 25 based on the components to create the required lighting appearance.<br />
The outer bulb of the Aura SODINETTE Long Life is made of a special hard glass. This protects the<br />
components inside from damages and secures the functionality over the long lifetime. The hard glass is<br />
lead free and is used for all wattages from 50 W up to 1 000 W.<br />
A high level super burner inside the glass cover, either tubular transparent or ellipsoid coated, is filled<br />
with high class components. By constructing two of these excellent burners as one lamp it is possible to<br />
extend the lifetime significantly. They are positioned exactly in the length axis and fixed in a stable holding<br />
system. This holding system provides a robust construction which resists vibrations and leads to improved<br />
reliability.<br />

The super burners offer an app. 20 % increase of the lumen output (up to 147 lm/W) compared to standard<br />
HPS lamps. This results in a higher level of light and more economical efficiency.<br />
Diffusion of sodium from the burners has an important influence on the lifetime behaviour of HPS lamps.<br />
Further developments have lead to an improved ceramic material to reduce substantially this process.<br />
SODIGUARD is an additive ceramic tube placed close to the two burners decelerating the process of loosing<br />
sodium.<br />
The new developed technical solution to achieve an extended lifetime has resulted in an application for a<br />
patent.<br />
The ignition of HPS lamps due to the high pressure inside the burner requires a high power. A specific<br />
integrated support functions as starting aid and improves the starting characteristics. In case of net power<br />
disturbances the Aura Long Life restrikes directly based on the two burner technology. No specific cooling<br />
down time is needed.<br />
High quality absorption getter material inside the outer glass bulb is an important component for a complete<br />
proper function and light distribution. It removes impurities in the vacuum of the outer bulb. High<br />
Pressure Sodium lamps can be operated in any burning position. High Pressure Sodium lamps contain a<br />
small defined amount of mercury, necessary for proper operation. The Aura Long Life lamps comply with the<br />
requirements of the RoHS Directive (”Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances”). They have<br />
to be collected and disposed at end-of-life according to the national WEEE regulations.<br />

Aura Titan Long Life is an energy-efficient, low-voltage halogen lamp with a strong and stable light reflection<br />
for anyone desiring stylish, effective and well-aimed lighting in a hotel, museum, library or the like. Its<br />
design and integrated protection against light fading means that it is also suitable for use in department<br />
stores, restaurants and shops.<br />
Aura Titan Long Life has a lifetime of 15.000 hours – making it the halogen lamp with the longest lifetime<br />
on the market. It is available in a number of common outputs and beam angles.<br />
Because the highly reflective reflection layer maintains its ability to reflect and does not become matte<br />
during the lamp’s life, Aura Titan Long Life produces a high light flow throughout its entire lifetime. Even with<br />
the high light flow, Aura Titan Long Life is a product with an extremely long lifetime. The cold-light reflector<br />

Aura Electronic Strike is a complete range of electronic starters. They enable flicker free and soft<br />
start ignition of fluorescent lamps. The lamp electrodes are preheated and warm started with-in two<br />
seconds.<br />
Aura Electronic Strikes eliminate the danger of fire that could come up when flickering lamps do not<br />
start over a long period of time. The automatic switch-off function detects defective and burned out<br />
lamps, thus avoiding overheating of starters and ballasts.<br />
The dimensions and the bipin base of Aura Electronic Strikes are universal. They easily replace the<br />
conventional glow-switch starter.<br />

BALLAST<br />
To operate discharge lamps - either fluorescent or high pressure lamps -a defined ballast is necessary.<br />
The ballast is important for two parameters:<br />
• transforms the net power to the required ignition voltage to start lamps.<br />
• limits the current of the discharge process.<br />
There are two groups of ballast available<br />
• The traditional conventional ballast - based on copper-iron, actual as low-loss versions.<br />
• The modern, very efficient electronic versions, based on high frequency operation. They are also<br />
available for dimming operation which is an increasing application area.<br />
COLOUR DESCRIPTION<br />
The colour types of Fluorescent lamps are based on an international number coding system based on<br />
a combination of the colour rendering and the colour temperature. The description of a colour can be<br />
identified like this: colour 830 means:<br />
• first number 8 =colour rendering of tri-phosphor lamps = Ra 80 ... 89.<br />
• second part 30 = colour temperature of 3000 K, warm white.<br />
COLOUR RENDERING<br />
Colour rendering explains the ability of light sources to represent the colours. The quality is measured<br />
based on eight test colours and related to a standard reference. The colour rendition of a lamp is<br />
expressed by a value as average of the eight colours = Ra. According to a defined Index from the<br />
International Electrical Commission (IEC) the lamps are rated to quality classes:<br />

For certain lighting installations a specific colour rendering is required, e.g. office lighting with 80 - 89.<br />
COLOUR TEMPERATURE<br />
The appearance of light colours of Fluorescent lamps is based on a system defined by the International<br />
Electrical Commission (IEC). The reference to the colour temperature levels is related to the radiation of a<br />
black body of steel through a heating process. According to the different status during the heating process<br />
the temperature level is determined. The unit of colour temperature is Kelvin (K).<br />
The scale for light sources for general lighting reaches from 2.000 to app. 10.000 K.<br />

LIFETIME<br />
For the "life of lamps" are different definitions and terms are in use. This is depending to the lamp type,<br />
manufacturer and region. The essential definitions are:<br />
• Lifetime as general term means the time during which a lamp is operating until it reaches end-of-life.<br />
• Average life means the time at which the electrical life of a quantity of lamps operated at standardised<br />
conditions when 50 % of the lamps are end-of-life.<br />
• Service life means the time when in a lighting installation the amount of light falls to 80 % of the initial<br />
100-hour value. Service life is calculated on base of 10 % lamp failures and 10 % lumen depreciation.<br />
The operation is according to IEC/EN 60081 on a 3h-cycle.<br />
• Lifetime 12h-cycle is coming in use for discharge lamps like Fluorescent or High Pressure. It is an<br />
operation cycle according to the real time of use (one switch per day) and defined as the time when<br />
when 10 % of the lamps in an installation are end-of-life. The lumen depreciation is indicated at this time<br />
with less than 10 %.<br />
LIGHT ILLUMINANCE<br />
The light illuminance (E) is the level of luminous flux on a defined area divided by the size of the area. It is<br />
stated as Lux (lx).<br />
LIGHT INTENSITY<br />
The intensity of light radiated in a defined direction. It is measured as Candela (cd).<br />
LIGHT LUMINANCE<br />
This represents the luminosity of a highlighted area. It is measured as candela per m2 (cd/m2).<br />
LIGHT OUTPUT<br />
Light output expresses the efficiency of a light source. It is the result of luminous flux divided by the<br />
electrical power (wattage) used of a lamp. It is stated as lumen per Watt (lm/W).<br />
LUMINOUS FLUX<br />
The volume of light radiated from a light source in all directions. It is measured with lumen (lm).<br />
STARTER<br />
When fluorescent lamps are operated with conventional ballast an additional equipment is needed to ignite<br />
the lamp. The starter closes for the ignition the electrical circuitry around the lamp and delivers the needed<br />
starting pulse. During the operation of the lamp the starter is not further included.<br />
Starters are available as glow switch starter for standard requirements and electronic starter with<br />
comfortable characteristics as soft start with a defined pre-heating, automatic switch off with a defect lamp,<br />
direct re-start when new lamps are installed.<br />
TRI-PHOSPHOR POWDERS<br />
The variety of colours of fluorescent lamps are created by a mixture of three basic colour components: Red,<br />
Green and Blue.<br />
Based on the relative balance of those the colours are defined, eg. warm white has more red and green,<br />
daylight more blue component. The overall light appearance is giving a white impression showing the<br />
appearance of warm, white or daylight.<br />
Tri-phosphor powder deliver a good colour rendition (Ra 80 ... 89) in combination with high luminous flux<br />
and high efficient light output.<br />

When the failure rate (electrical) is more than<br />

10 % will be compensated free of charge. A claim<br />

General Sales Conditions for Aura Light International AB<br />
1. Orders<br />
1.1. These general sales conditions (the “Conditions”) shall apply on any and<br />
all <strong>Product</strong>s ordered or delivered.<br />
1.2. The Customer shall place orders by fax or e-mail with Aura, stating the<br />
number of <strong>Product</strong>s ordered. However, no orders may be placed for less than<br />
what is stipulated in the catalogue (i.e. for less number of <strong>Product</strong>s than the<br />
number of <strong>Product</strong>s per package given in Aura’s product catalogue). All orders<br />
placed by the Customer shall be firm and irrevocable and made on Aura’s<br />
standard order form. The Customer shall be solely responsible for the accuracy<br />
of all information contained in its orders.<br />
1.3. Aura reserves the right to accept or refuse any order or part thereof. Such<br />
acceptance or refusal shall be made by fax or e-mail within seven (7) days after<br />
receipt of an order. If the order is accepted, Aura’s order confirmation shall<br />
contain an estimated delivery date.<br />
2. Documents and package<br />
2.1. All shipping documents, e.g. delivery notes, packing receipts, and certificates<br />
of origin, shall be issued in accordance with Aura’s instructions.<br />
2.2. The Parties shall cooperate in order to prepare any and all necessary documents<br />
required by the authorities in the Territory and Sweden, or in any transit<br />
territories, as a consequence of the order, purchase, delivery or payment of<br />
the <strong>Product</strong>s ordered by the Customer from Aura.<br />
2.3. Aura shall ensure that the <strong>Product</strong>s when handed over to the carrier for<br />
transport to the Customer are packaged in a way that may reasonably be required<br />
considering the characteristics of the <strong>Product</strong>s and the way of transport.<br />
3. Deliveries<br />
3.1. Aura shall deliver the <strong>Product</strong>s ordered by the Customer within the confirmed<br />
date.<br />
3.2. Aura shall at its own expense arrange for insurance for and carriage of<br />
the <strong>Product</strong>s, cleared for export, to the Customer’s premises, provided that<br />
otherwise is not set out in these Conditions or has been agreed between the<br />
Parties. The risk of the <strong>Product</strong>s shall pass to the Customer at delivery by<br />
Aura at the Customer’s premises. For the avoidance of doubt, Aura shall be<br />
the owner of the <strong>Product</strong>s ordered until paid and delivered in accordance<br />
with the conditions contained herein and thereafter shall the Customer be the<br />
owner of the <strong>Product</strong>s ordered.<br />
4. Delayed deliveries<br />
4.1. If Aura finds that it will not be able to deliver the <strong>Product</strong> at the agreed<br />
time or if delay on its part seems likely, it shall without undue delay notify<br />
the Customer hereof, stating the reason for the delay and if possible the time<br />
when delivery can be expected.<br />
4.2. Provided that Aura notifies the Customer without undue delay in accordance<br />
with Section 4.1, the Customer shall not be entitled to any compensation<br />
due to the delay and the delay shall not be deemed as a breach of<br />
contract.<br />
5. Inspection of <strong>Product</strong>s<br />
5.1. As soon as possible after receipt of any <strong>Product</strong>s delivered by Aura hereunder,<br />
but in no event later than seven (7) days after delivery, the Customer<br />
shall inspect the <strong>Product</strong>s and shall inform Aura forthwith of any defects in<br />
or damage to such <strong>Product</strong>s or shortages.<br />
5.2. If the Customer fails to notify and/or forward to Aura full details within<br />
the period specified in Section 5.1, the Customer shall be deemed to have<br />
waived its rights to assert claims.<br />
6. Defective <strong>Product</strong>s<br />
6.1. In case of any evidenced defects in or damage to <strong>Product</strong>s or shortages at<br />
delivery, Aura’s liability shall be limited to, at its option, correcting any errors,<br />
replacing the <strong>Product</strong>s concerned or refunding the price paid (subject to the<br />
Customer returning the defective <strong>Product</strong>s to Aura at Aura's risk and expense)<br />
or (if an abatement of the price is agreed with the Customer) refunding to the<br />
Customer the appropriate part of the price paid, provided that the Customer<br />
shows that Aura has such an obligation under the guarantees and provided<br />
that the procedure set forth in Section 5 has been followed.<br />
6.2. In order to fulfil its obligations under the guarantees Aura may, at its sole<br />
discretion, demand that the Customer shall, at the Customer’s expense, send<br />
the <strong>Product</strong>s which the Customer deems default to Karlskrona, Sweden, for<br />
inspection by Aura.<br />
7. Guarantees<br />
7.1. Aura shall give the Customer such guarantees for the sold <strong>Product</strong>s as<br />
stated in Appendix 7.2. Aura shall have the right to adjust the guarantees provided<br />
that Aura, in general, has made or will make such adjustment of the<br />
guarantees to the main part of its other customers.<br />
7.2. The express terms of these Conditions are in lieu of all other guarantees<br />
or warranties, express or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied<br />
warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, all of which<br />
are hereby excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.<br />
8. <strong>Product</strong> liability<br />
8.1 Aura shall have no liability to the Customer due to product liability claims<br />
from the Customer or from end users or any other customers of the Customer<br />
or any other third parties relating to the <strong>Product</strong>s, except as required under<br />
mandatory law. For the avoidance of any doubts, in case of any damages/<br />
injuries Aura will only provide a replacement <strong>Product</strong> and assume liability for<br />
instalment costs in accordance with Aura’s ordinary product guarantee.<br />
8.2. The Customer shall keep and maintain product liability insurance giving<br />
adequate protection to it and Aura in case of a product liability claim from<br />
an end user or any other customer of the Customer or any other third party.<br />
If Aura would so request, the Customer shall provide documents evidencing<br />
such insurance and, if Aura would deem it necessary, increase the insurance<br />
level to a reasonable level considering risks that may reasonably be foreseen.<br />
9. Export and import<br />
9.1. The Customer shall be responsible for ensuring that the <strong>Product</strong>s can<br />
be imported to the Territory without any restrictions, unless the Customer<br />
has, prior to the entering into this agreement, notified Aura in writing of the<br />
existence of such restrictions.<br />
9.2. Aura shall be responsible for the issuance of any necessary certificate of<br />
origin for the <strong>Product</strong>s.<br />
9.3. If, subsequent to the submission of a purchase order, it becomes known<br />
that the <strong>Product</strong>s are subject to export restrictions, Aura shall have the right<br />
to cancel the sale without any further obligations.<br />
10. Taxes and terms of payment<br />
10.1. The price of the <strong>Product</strong>s from Aura to the Customer are detailed in<br />
Appendix 10.1. Aura may change its then current prices of the <strong>Product</strong>s with<br />
three months prior notice. Any orders which have been placed by the Customer<br />
and which have been accepted by Aura at the effective date of the price<br />
change shall be delivered by Aura to the Customer to the prices before the<br />
price change is effected. For the avoidance of doubt, the Customer shall freely<br />
decide its resale prices.<br />
10.2. The fees and other charges of Aura do not include value added tax, sales<br />
tax, and similar taxes as well as any city, municipal, state or federal taxes or any<br />
withholding taxes or customs, whether currently imposed or imposed in the<br />
future, excluding Aura’s tax on income. If any such tax or customs is found<br />
to be applicable to Aura, the appropriate amount of tax shall be invoiced<br />
to and paid by the Customer to Aura on the same terms as applied to the<br />
payment due.<br />
10.3. Value added taxes, tolls and similar fees to be paid due to the delivery<br />
of the products ordered by the Customer from Aura shall be paid by the<br />
Customer.<br />
10.4. Payments under these Conditions can be made in SEK/USD or Euro..<br />
10.5. Aura shall, unless otherwise agreed in writing, invoice the Customer on<br />
a monthly basis.<br />
10.6. Any amounts payable hereunder shall be paid within thirty (30) days<br />
from the date of invoice and payment shall be made in accordance with the<br />
instructions stated on the invoice and be made without any set-off or counterclaim.<br />
Payment will not be considered effected until Aura receives in available<br />
funds the full amount due.<br />
10.7. If the Customer does not pay an invoice when it is due for payment,<br />
Aura reserves the right to stop delivery of the <strong>Product</strong>s to the Customer until<br />
receiving payment in full. Aura agrees that this right shall not be executed<br />
without giving the Customer prior notice and a reasonable time period to<br />
settle the due amount.<br />
10.8. Without prejudice to any of its other rights, Aura may charge the Customer<br />
all or parts of the costs incurred in collecting amounts due for payment.<br />
In addition to any other rights Aura may have, the Customer agrees to pay, a<br />
late payment fee on any amount overdue for payment by the Customer at the<br />
annual (or part thereof calculated on the basis of the actual number of days<br />
during such year) rate of STIBOR plus eight (8) percent from the due date<br />
until payment has been made in full.<br />
11. Governing law and dispute resolution<br />
11.1. These Conditions shall be governed by Swedish law without having regard<br />
to its principles of conflicts of law.<br />
11.2. If the parties are unable to resolve their dispute through bona fide negotiations,<br />
all disputes, controversies or claims under or relating to or arising out<br />
of or in connection with these Conditions shall be finally settled by arbitration<br />
in accordance with the Rules of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm<br />
Chamber of Commerce. The place of arbitration shall be Stockholm. The<br />
proceedings shall be conducted in the English language and the award shall be<br />
final and binding upon the Parties.
