The SEQUESTAR line from BRANDT MONTEREY is an effective
method of providing adequate nutrition for preventing
and correcting micronutrient deficiencies. Many soils contain
sufficient micronutrient levels, however they are often present
in a form that renders them unavailable to the plants.
SEQUESTAR water soluble chelated micronutrients dissolve
rapidly and completely in water and are extremely stable
to ensure that nutrients remain available to crops, even in
highly alkaline calcareous soils. Because SEQUESTAR is a
pure, 100% EDTA, DTPA or EDDHA chelate, compatibility and
stability are unrivaled even in harsh environments.
SEQUESTAR water soluble chelated micronutrients are based
on well established chelate chemistries which provide for
stable and available micronutrient sources. Stability leads to
rapid crop uptake and absorption, providing superior biological
performance backed by over 20 years of successful field trial
experience in the agriculture industry.
Supplied as a free-flowing, dustless microgranule, SEQUESTAR
water soluble chelated micronutrients contain no impurities to cause
filter or nozzle blockages. They are suitable for addition to spray
tanks through filter baskets or modern induction bowl systems.

Stable, Compatible and Effective
All chelates are compatible with a wide range of pesticides
and fertilizers. This enables convenient and economical
tank mixing opportunities. They are completely stable in the
presence of soluble phosphates found in foliar and soluble
fertilizers and remain in solution in alkaline soils. The

Function of Micronutrients
Sugars are the raw materials for biosynthesis of other plant
products and provide the necessary energy. Many interlinked
metabolic pathways operate in plants, and micronutrients
are intimately involved with them all as organometallic
proteins, enzyme co-factors and catalysts.
When a supply of micronutrients is restricted, metabolic processes
are affected, leading ultimately to the development
of deficiencies.
Causes of Micronutrient Deficiencies
Modern farming techniques, new crop varieties and highly
effective methods of crop protection have enabled farmers
and growers to increase yields and quality of their crops to
levels unimaginable a few decades ago.
This has put a burden on the soil in terms of its ability to
supply nutrients. Farmers and growers have responded by
increasing major nutrient fertilizers, however, micronutrients
have been neglected and as a direct result, micronutrient
deficiencies are now widespread and increasing in severity.
