• Govt of Mizoram has been requested to carry out<br />

follow<strong>in</strong>g works<br />

• Approach road from base of hill to proposed DVOR site<br />

• Flatten<strong>in</strong>g of hill top<br />

• UHF/ VHF l<strong>in</strong>k <strong>for</strong> remote c<strong>on</strong>trol and status display<br />

• Flatten<strong>in</strong>g of adjacent hill top of height 1531 mtrs at distance of<br />

94 mtrs towards North below counterpoise level and trees of hill<br />

top required to be chopped off<br />

• Proposed site is pr<strong>on</strong>e to heavy lighten<strong>in</strong>g as such special<br />

protecti<strong>on</strong> system <strong>for</strong> the facility required<br />

• C<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong> of DVOR/ DME equipment room at top of the hill<br />

• One restroom with basic amenities to be provided<br />

<strong>Development</strong> of Green Field <strong>Airports</strong>-<br />

North East Regi<strong>on</strong><br />

a) PAKYONG AIRPORT – Gangtok, Sikkim <strong>for</strong> ATR 72 Aircraft<br />

Detailed Project Report has been prepared and <strong>for</strong>warded to<br />

<strong>Plan</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g Commissi<strong>on</strong> <strong>for</strong> further deliberati<strong>on</strong>s. Estimated cost is<br />

Rs. 320 Crores (i/c land cost). Fund<strong>in</strong>g approval from Govt<br />

awaited. Proposed fund<strong>in</strong>g pattern either 100% grant or 90% grant and<br />

10% Internal Resources as adopted <strong>by</strong> <strong>NE</strong>C while fund<strong>in</strong>g the projects<br />

of states <strong>in</strong> <strong>NE</strong>R<br />

b) CHEITHU AIRPORT – Kohima, Nagaland <strong>for</strong> ATR 72 Aircraft<br />

CES, C<strong>on</strong>sultant has submitted the Interim report of Techno Ec<strong>on</strong>omic<br />

Feasibility study. It is under exam<strong>in</strong>ati<strong>on</strong> <strong>by</strong> <strong>AAI</strong> & likely to be f<strong>in</strong>alised<br />

<strong>by</strong> June 2007.<br />

c) ITANAGAR – <strong>for</strong> ATR 72 Aircraft<br />

Banderdeva site seems to be technically feasible. ICT has been<br />

appo<strong>in</strong>ted as c<strong>on</strong>sultant <strong>for</strong> Techno-Ec<strong>on</strong>omic Feasibility Study. Report<br />

likely to be submitted <strong>by</strong> end of May 07


Request <strong>for</strong> <strong>Development</strong> of<br />

New Green Field <strong>Airports</strong> - <strong>NE</strong> Regi<strong>on</strong><br />

TAWANG (AURANACHAL PRADESH)<br />

State to identify probable site <strong>for</strong> c<strong>on</strong>duct<strong>in</strong>g survey <strong>by</strong> <strong>AAI</strong> (Rs. 1 Crore<br />

required fund from <strong>NE</strong>C <strong>for</strong> c<strong>on</strong>duct<strong>in</strong>g survey and preparati<strong>on</strong> of<br />
