ASMC 11 St. Petersburg is be<strong>in</strong>g organized<br />

by the European Federation for Medic<strong>in</strong>al<br />

<strong>Chemistry</strong> (EFMC) <strong>and</strong> ChemBridge<br />

Corporation <strong>in</strong> the series <strong>of</strong> events which<br />

started with ASMC 04 Moscow, followed<br />

by ASMC 07 St. Petersburg <strong>and</strong> ASMC 09<br />

Kiev. The first editions were high po<strong>in</strong>ts<br />

<strong>of</strong> the world’s chemistry events, each<br />

one with 40 dist<strong>in</strong>guished academic <strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>in</strong>dustrial speakers, about 200 poster communications<br />

<strong>and</strong> 400 to 600 registered<br />

participants represent<strong>in</strong>g more than 40<br />

countries.<br />

The scientific program <strong>of</strong> the International<br />

Symposium on <strong>Advances</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Synthetic</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />

Medic<strong>in</strong>al <strong>Chemistry</strong> will <strong>in</strong>clude:<br />

• 28 <strong>in</strong>vited plenary lectures, presented<br />

by lead<strong>in</strong>g scientists from academia <strong>and</strong><br />

the pharmaceutical <strong>and</strong> biotech <strong>in</strong>dustry<br />

from Europe, USA <strong>and</strong> former USSR<br />

countries<br />

• 10 short oral communications which will<br />

be selected from submitted abstracts<br />

• A poster session. Poster presentations will<br />

be peer-reviewed from submitted applications<br />

by the International Scientific<br />

Committee. Please submit poster applications<br />

will be peer-reviewed for their acceptance<br />

by the International Scientific Committee.<br />

From the submitted proposals, 10 oral<br />

communications will be selected by the<br />

International Scientific Committee.<br />

Selected authors will be notified by the<br />

Symposium Secretariat.<br />

Commercial Exhibition<br />

The program will also <strong>in</strong>clude a commercial<br />

exhibition which will form an <strong>in</strong>tegral part<br />

<strong>of</strong> the symposium <strong>and</strong> will represent a unique<br />

opportunity for companies to present<br />

<strong>and</strong> promote their products to the numerous<br />

scientists <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> organic synthesis<br />

<strong>and</strong> medic<strong>in</strong>al chemistry.<br />

The exhibition will take place on Monday<br />

August 22, Tuesday August 23 <strong>and</strong><br />

Wednesday August 24 <strong>and</strong> will be located<br />

close to the meet<strong>in</strong>g rooms. Refreshment<br />

breaks will be held <strong>in</strong> the exhibition area<br />

to ensure a high level <strong>of</strong> attention from<br />

delegates.<br />

After May 5, 2011 it will still be possible to<br />

submit abstracts for poster presentations,<br />

but a h<strong>and</strong>l<strong>in</strong>g fee <strong>of</strong> €50 will be charged.<br />

2011.<br />

Registration Information<br />

Registration will start on Sunday, August<br />

21 <strong>and</strong> will be followed by a welcome<br />

reception. The symposium program will<br />

start <strong>in</strong> the morn<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> Monday, August 22<br />

<strong>and</strong> will end <strong>in</strong> the afternoon <strong>of</strong> Thursday,<br />

August 25. The Symposium will be concluded<br />

with a banquet on Thursday even<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

The registration package <strong>in</strong>cludes:<br />

- Admission to all scientific sessions <strong>and</strong><br />

exhibition program<br />

- Abstract book, symposium bag <strong>and</strong> certificate<br />

<strong>of</strong> attendance<br />

- Lunches <strong>and</strong> refreshment breaks<br />

Cancellations<br />

Substitutions may be made at any time, but<br />

please advise the Symposium Secretariat <strong>of</strong><br />

any change <strong>of</strong> name. All registrations which<br />

have been confirmed by LD Organisation<br />

are considered valid registrations, unless<br />

cancelled with<strong>in</strong> two weeks from the registration<br />

date. After the <strong>in</strong>dicated date, cancellation<br />

fees are due. However <strong>in</strong> case an<br />

abstract is not accepted for presentation<br />

at the symposium, no cancellation fee will<br />

be due if cancellation is done before May<br />

30, 2011.<br />

Cancellation before May 30, 2011: €125<br />

Cancellation between May 30 <strong>and</strong> July 25,<br />

2011: €200<br />

Cancellation after July 25, 2011: no refund<br />

Visas<br />

To enter Russia you need to have a valid<br />

visa. You will need an <strong>of</strong>ficial <strong>in</strong>vitation letter,<br />

which will allow you to apply for a visa<br />

at your local Russian Consulate or Embassy.<br />

This <strong>in</strong>vitation letter is issued by the hotel<br />

you have booked. Please note that the<br />

symposium secretariat cannot provide visa<br />

support separately from accommodation<br />

The symposium will take place <strong>in</strong> the br<strong>and</strong><br />

new Holiday Inn St. Petersburg-Moskovskye<br />

Vorota. The hotel <strong>of</strong>fers excellent conference<br />

facilities, comfortable <strong>and</strong> nice rooms<br />

<strong>and</strong> is located <strong>in</strong> the central part <strong>of</strong> the<br />

city. With the Moskovskye Vorota metro<br />

station across the road, the hotel is only 4<br />

stops from all major attractions <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />

the Hermitage, St Isaac’s Cathedral, Church<br />

on the Spilled Blood.<br />
