ASMC 11 St. Petersburg is being organized
by the European Federation for Medicinal
Chemistry (EFMC) and ChemBridge
Corporation in the series of events which
started with ASMC 04 Moscow, followed
by ASMC 07 St. Petersburg and ASMC 09
Kiev. The first editions were high points
of the world’s chemistry events, each
one with 40 distinguished academic and
industrial speakers, about 200 poster communications
and 400 to 600 registered
participants representing more than 40
countries.
The scientific program of the International
Symposium on Advances in Synthetic and
Medicinal Chemistry will include:
• 28 invited plenary lectures, presented
by leading scientists from academia and
the pharmaceutical and biotech industry
from Europe, USA and former USSR
countries
• 10 short oral communications which will
be selected from submitted abstracts
• A poster session. Poster presentations will
be peer-reviewed from submitted applications
by the International Scientific
Committee. Please submit poster applications
to the symposium secretariat, via
the symposium website: www.asmc11.org
The topics to be covered during this symposium
include:
• New Synthetic Methodologies, Total
Synthesis of Natural Products and
Heterocyclic Chemistry
• Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Discovery
& Development
The program will also include a commercial
exhibition.
The official language of the symposium is
English.
The scientific program will be completed
by an attractive cultural program in
St. Petersburg.

Posters and Communications
All participants are invited to submit abstracts
of scientific communications that
will be peer-reviewed for their acceptance
by the International Scientific Committee.
Participants wishing to present an oral
communication or a poster should submit
an abstract using the abstract submission
menu available on the symposium website
www.asmc11.org
From the submitted proposals, 10 oral
communications will be selected by the
International Scientific Committee.
Selected authors will be notified by the
Symposium Secretariat.
Commercial Exhibition
The program will also include a commercial
exhibition which will form an integral part
of the symposium and will represent a unique
opportunity for companies to present
and promote their products to the numerous
scientists involved in organic synthesis
and medicinal chemistry.
The exhibition will take place on Monday
August 22, Tuesday August 23 and
Wednesday August 24 and will be located
close to the meeting rooms. Refreshment
breaks will be held in the exhibition area
to ensure a high level of attention from
delegates.

Calendar of Submissions
May 5, 2011: Deadline for oral communication
submission and free poster submission
May 25, 2011: Announcement of the accepted
communications
After May 5, 2011 it will still be possible to
submit abstracts for poster presentations,
but a handling fee of €50 will be charged.
Abstract submission is final as of June 25,
2011.
Practical Details
The Symposium will take place at the
Holiday Inn St. Petersburg-Moskovskye
Vorota hotel. This brand new hotel offers
state of the art conference facilities, and
is perfectly situated in the central part of
the city.

Registration Information
Registration will start on Sunday, August
21 and will be followed by a welcome
reception. The symposium program will
start in the morning of Monday, August 22
and will end in the afternoon of Thursday,
August 25. The Symposium will be concluded
with a banquet on Thursday evening.
The registration package includes:
- Admission to all scientific sessions and
exhibition program
- Abstract book, symposium bag and certificate
of attendance
- Lunches and refreshment breaks
- Welcome reception and a guided tour of
St. Petersburg are also free for all registered
participants
Accompanying persons are encouraged to
register in order to have access to all social
events and services provided by the organization.
The accompanying person fee
includes welcome reception, lunches and a
guided tour of St. Petersburg. An additional
optional cultural and sightseeing program
will be arranged, but reservations for
this program will be available on site only.
Please note that accompanying persons do
not have access to the scientific program.
Accompanying persons should make a
separate registration, and indicate the
name of the person with whom they come
in the appropriate field of the registration
form.

Registration and confirmation
You have two easy ways to register:

Symposium Secretariat
Every participant will receive a confirmation
of his booking. An automatic reply will
immediately follow any online registration
and a subsequent final confirmation will
be sent by email once your registration has
been processed by our secretariat. If you
do not receive a confirmation, please send
an email to secretariat@ldorganisation.
com to make sure that we have received
your booking. Within two weeks from
the confirmation, an invoice for your participation
will be sent by our accounting
department.
Please note that only registered participants
will have access to the social program
and all services provided by the symposium
secretariat.
Cancellations
Substitutions may be made at any time, but
please advise the Symposium Secretariat of
any change of name. All registrations which
have been confirmed by LD Organisation
are considered valid registrations, unless
cancelled within two weeks from the registration
date. After the indicated date, cancellation
fees are due. However in case an
abstract is not accepted for presentation
at the symposium, no cancellation fee will
be due if cancellation is done before May
30, 2011.
Cancellation before May 30, 2011: €125
Cancellation between May 30 and July 25,
2011: €200
Cancellation after July 25, 2011: no refund
Visas
To enter Russia you need to have a valid
visa. You will need an official invitation letter,
which will allow you to apply for a visa
at your local Russian Consulate or Embassy.
This invitation letter is issued by the hotel
you have booked. Please note that the
symposium secretariat cannot provide visa
support separately from accommodation

Accommodation
The symposium will take place in the brand
new Holiday Inn St. Petersburg-Moskovskye
Vorota. The hotel offers excellent conference
facilities, comfortable and nice rooms
and is located in the central part of the
city. With the Moskovskye Vorota metro
station across the road, the hotel is only 4
stops from all major attractions including
the Hermitage, St Isaac’s Cathedral, Church
on the Spilled Blood.
