Weapon of War

If you feel like you
are in a battle today,
there is a weapon
you can engage when
you are in a vicious
spiritual war. This is
highlighted in an incredible story
of victory in the Old Testament.
The Moabites and Ammonites
assembled their armies to come
against the children of Israel.
A man named Jahaziel was
overcome by the power of the
Lord and brought a word
from God.
He said in 2 Chronicles 20:15,
“Do not be afraid or discouraged
because of this vast army. For the
battle is not yours, but God’s” and
in verse 17 it says, “You will not
have to fight this battle. Take up
your positions; stand firm and see
the deliverance the Lord will give
you.… Do not be afraid; do not be
discouraged.”
Now here is the amazing part of
the story, the next morning King
Jehoshaphat told the people to
“have faith in the Lord your God
and you will be upheld.” And he
appointed men to sing to the Lord
and to praise him as they went out
at the head of the army, saying,
“Give thanks to the Lord, for his
love endures forever.” Verse 22
goes on to tell how they began to
sing and lift their voices in praises
to the Lord, who then defeated
their foes by setting up ambushes
against the enemies.
This is our secret weapon.
When we begin to praise and
worship God, He fights our battles
for us and victory is placed in
our hands.

Exciting new features in July on The 700 Club Canada
July 8-12
Dr. Andy Bannister
Canadian Director for RZIM Canada will be joining
us this week for a look at five different faith groups
represented in today’s Canadian culture. He travels
regularly throughout Canada, speaking about
issues relating to faith, culture, politics and society,
addressing audiences of Christians, those of all faiths,
and those who have no religious affiliation.
Wagdi Iskander
Born into a Bedouin Arab family, Wagdi was
raised as a Muslim in the Sudan. After accepting
Jesus Christ as Lord in 1982 he was persecuted and
then arrested along with two Christian friends for
refusing to renounce Jesus as Lord. All three were
sentenced to die. His friends were executed but
when they came for Wagdi he made a miraculous
last minute escape and went into hiding. In 1988 he
came to Canada and has pastored Arabic churches in Calgary and Edmonton.
A Journey of Faith

Harold “Lefty” Williams
Harold ‘Lefty’ Williams, former Harlem
Globetrotter, learned early in life that to get what
was divinely meant for him he had to be obedient
and follow God’s will. It has been obedience to
God that brought him to Port Alberni BC as
Youth Pastor at Jericho Road church. His desire
is to share with the youth of today that a Delay
Is Not A Denial. This week ‘Lefty’ and Associate
Pastor Dave DeJong will be discussing their journey of faith.
Hearing God’s Voice
Josiah’s parents fear the worst when his
jet ski collides with an obstacle at full speed. But
amazingly, something happens before the impact
that is a must-see for every viewer. Tune in for
this young man’s astounding story.

Our nation has been
touched by God
in so many ways.
Here at CBA it is
our desire to reach
out and minister to the lives of
those all across Canada who are
in great need. This is where
you come in. Through your
partnership, the gospel is spread
across the country and is brought
into prisons, the inner cities, and
places where lost individuals may
never have otherwise had the
opportunity to hear the Good
News of Jesus Christ.
Often, people’s physical and emotional needs are so
great that those must be fulfilled before they can open
their hearts to their spiritual needs. And thanks to you,
those needs are being met. Recently, The 700 Club in
Canada partnered with The Clothing Mission to provide
clothing to a native community in Quebec, north of
Ottawa. With your help, we were able to not only bring
clothing and warm coats to those who needed them the
most, but also food to feed the hungry.
Jesus said in Matthew 19:14, “Let the little children
come to me,” and that is exactly what our aim is through
our Superbook ministry. This summer we are planning
several new Superbook outreaches, which will be held in
many different cities and towns. None of this would be

The new O’Connor Family Centre
possible without the support from partners like you. It is
our prayer that hundreds of children will come to know
Christ through this ministry.
But not only are we reaching out to children, but to
families as well. This past spring we were able to help
The Scott Mission renovate their new O’Connor Family
Centre in East Toronto. The Scott Mission is a warm and
loving place that ministers to both children and their
families as a whole. It is a blessing to stop and think that
through your gifts, you are giving families across Canada
the means and ability to grow and be strengthened in
Jesus’ name.
Ever since CBA began in 1974, it has been our
mandate to preach the gospel through the media, to
touch the lives of the hurting, the destitute and the
lonely, and to
strengthen the
heart of Canada
for God. It is
your partnership
with CBA that
makes all of this
possible. With
you by our side,
we can continue
to work for
God’s glory and
to make Him

Some Christians give the
impression that God has given
us creative power with our
words. Can we really speak
something into existence
A
Jesus said: If you have faith and do not doubt … if you
say to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the
sea,” it will be done. And whatever things you ask in prayer,
believing, you will receive (Matthew 21:21, 22).
Throughout Scripture, we can find incidences of God
speaking things into existence. If we look at the origin of
this universe, it was the spoken Word of God that brought
it to pass. We read again and again in Genesis, God said,
“Let there be…” and it happened according to His Word.
Power flows from the creative mind of God to the Spirit
of God, to the spirit of man, to the mind of man, and to
the mouth of man. God’s thoughts will be transmitted by
the Holy Spirit to our spirits, and if we speak them forth,
things will begin to take shape and change.
The way I’ve seen healings take place has been to speak
the word, to command storms to cease. Jesus spoke to the
waves. He said, “Peace, be still.”
Agreeing with God’s Word, and speaking to our
circumstances is not a “name it and claim it” game of “let’s
see what we can get from God.” We are not talking about
magic, formulas, tricks, or games; we are talking about
the power of God having real results in our everyday lives
according to clearly annunciated biblical teachings.

Christ’s Dominion

Happy Canada Day! July 1, 2013 marks
the 146th birthday of “The Dominion of
Canada.” Jesus, in His earthly ministry,
spoke a lot about dominion: But seek first the
kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these
things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33 nkjv).
In fact, we live in a time in world history when we
have seen many kingdoms come and go. Revelation
11:15 niv says, The kingdom of the world has
become the kingdom of our Lord and of his
Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever. But
how does that aid me in my corner of Canada
Great question! As a citizen of “Christ’s
Dominion,” here on earth, you have rights, and
when those rights are threatened it is the military
that is called to serve and protect, not the citizens.
The standard emergency number in Canada is
911. Once 911 is dialed, a dispatcher will ask,
“What is the problem and what is your location”
Then in minutes, depending on the traffic, a
dispatched vehicle with flashing lights and a siren
indicating “no interruption” arrives.
In the kingdom, we have the same promise
of immediate response; our emergency number
in heaven is “PRAY”! Keep praying partners;
we don’t have to stress. Our king and His army
of angels are faithful.
