No Child Left Behind (NCLB) mandates 100% of all students in grades 3
through 12 demonstrate proficiency in Math and Reading/Language Arts
by 2012‐13. Our incremental targets are set by State of Tennessee
mandates along with CMCSS initiatives.

Tell me more! Currently, AYP is measured utilizing the TCAP for Math
and Reading/Language Arts in 3 rd – 8 th grades, and Gateways and End of
Course (EOC) test in Algebra I & (English II and 11 th grade writing). These
are criterion referenced, standardized assessments, designed to measure
students’ mastery of the required Tennessee content for Math and
Reading/Language Arts.
