RULES GOVERNING SOCIAL FUNCTIONS<br />
Events must be approved in advance by the principal. Permission for use of the building for schoolrelated<br />
and non-school related activities must be obtained three days in advance. Students who leave a<br />
school-sponsored function may not return. Middle school students may not attend high school dances;<br />
dates must be under 21 years of age (with the exception of immediate family members).<br />
Homecoming<br />
The Homecoming Dance is open to all students in grades 9-12. In order to participate in the dance,<br />
students must have any behavior consequences made up (no outstanding suspensions or detentions) and<br />
must be in attendance the full school day on the day of or, if the dance is not on a school day, the day<br />
prior to the dance. Their dates must be signed up ahead of time in the office if they are not students of<br />
<strong>Anamosa</strong>. Dates from outside school districts must be in good standing with their home district and<br />
obtain a signature from their school administrator. Forms for dates may be picked up in the high school<br />
office up to two weeks in advance of the dance and must be returned three days prior to the dance.<br />
Junior-Senior Prom<br />
The Jr.-Sr. prom will be open only to juniors and seniors. In order to participate in the dance, students<br />
must have any behavior consequences made up (no outstanding suspensions or detentions) and must be<br />
in attendance the full school day on the day of or, if the dance is not on a school day, the day prior to the<br />
dance. Their dates must be signed up ahead of time in the office if they are not students of <strong>Anamosa</strong> or<br />
are underclassmen. Dates from outside school districts must be in good standing with their home<br />
district and obtain a signature from their school administrator. Forms for dates may be picked up in the<br />
high school office up to two weeks in advance of the dance and must be returned three days prior to the<br />

SEXUAL ABUSE AND HARASSMENT OF STUDENTS<br />
BY SCHOOL EMPLOYEES<br />
Employees who commit acts of intentional physical or sexual abuse, including<br />
inappropriate sexual behavior toward students, shall be subject to disciplinary sanctions up to<br />
and including termination.<br />
Complaints to the <strong>District</strong> regarding abuse of students by school employees shall be investigated<br />
promptly and in a manner to assure as much confidentiality as possible. Employees shall be<br />
required to assist in the investigation as requested and shall maintain confidentiality of the<br />
reporting and investigating process.<br />
Level One and Level Two Investigators shall be appointed annually by the Board to investigate<br />
child abuse complaints regarding employees. An Alternate Level One Investigator shall also be<br />
appointed. The Level One Investigator is the High school principal with the alternate being<br />
designated as the manager of health services. The Level Two Investigator is the Chief of Police<br />
at the <strong>Anamosa</strong> Police Station. Appropriate training shall be provided to Level One<br />
Investigators and Alternates.<br />
