SENIOR CENTER from page 11 Miss Delaware Heather Lehman and her partner Joe Tauber, Bob Walls with Taube Carpenter, Mike Mignogno with Trish Rodriquez, Skip Pikus with Leigh Minor, Bliss Soucek with Ernesto Riojas, and Kevin Redding with Laura Burton. The dancers trained every Thursday night at the Milford Senior Center with instructor and choreographer for the event Maria Fry. Master of ceremonies Chuck Ivins and Bernadette Mossman encouraged audience members to donate to the dance couple they felt performed the best throughout the evening. Judges for the evening, Lorna Petchy, Michele Xiques, Maria Fry and Connie Howell, critiqued the dancers and pointed out their strong and weak points of each performance. Audience favorite and winner of the evening Bob Walls, former Delaware State Representative and current member of the MSC BOD and local businessman, partnered with Taube Carpenter, Bob’s former campaign manager and community volunteer. “I think we did well, as long as no one knows what I was supposed to be doing,” laughed The Honorable Walls as when asked about his performance. The evening also included dinner provided by a variety of local restaurants including Abbott’s Grill and Nick & Charlie’s, a silent auction, and music provided by AAA Entertainment. Tables for the event were sponsored by I.G. Burton, Country Life Homes, City of Milford, Moore and Rutt, Taube Carpenter, Bob Walls, Chuck Ivins, Mayor Cheryl Carney, Connie Howell, Mike Mignogno and Trish Rodriguez. “This event shows the commitment of the Milford community to support local causes. This was the biggest crowd we have ever seen at the Milford Senior Center Gala,” commented Chuck Ivins, Chairman of the Gala Committee. The Milford Senior Center will be holding another event this Friday, March 18. The Elvis and Friends Dinner Show will be a tribute to Elvis and other stars, beginning at 6pm.
