TOOLS
AND ACCESSORIES FOR TILING

TOOLS AND ACCESSORIES FOR TILING
Many of the jobs related to tiling can be greatly simplified by using tools specially designed for this purpose. When working with ceramic tiles, sometimes it is
necessary to perform rare "special" cuts to fit door frames or square and round holes. The execution of these types of cuts, determines in good part the level
of quality of the finish. To obtain a perfect finish and to reduce to a minimum the time needed to achieve it, RUBI ® has some useful tools which have been specially
designed for this purpose. In this brief technical note, and in answer to the numerous questions received from Club Rubi's member, we explain in detail the
advantages of such tools.
HOLE MARKER - Ref. 70940 COUNTER GAUGE - Ref. 70925 ADJUSTABLE SHAPE TEMPLATE - Ref. 70955
For marking the position of holes for tubing and electrical
fitting, from the wall to the tile, for subsequent cutting or
drilling. Maximum length 18” (45 cm.).
Copies the shape of areas which are awkward to mark
onto tiles, for subsequent cutting.
Shaped template with pantograph. For copying difficult
shapes in ceramics when cutting and positioning with
respect to the last placed piece.

ADVICE
FOR USE
When marking the exact position of round or square holes,
the HOLE MARKER is of great help, as it is an articulated
tool that allows the marking of holes from the wall to its
corresponding position on the tile, for it to be then cut or
drilled.
Tools for water pipes and electricity boxes; the HOLE
MARKER allows the direct marking of holes of Ø 35, 45 and
85 mm., as well as square holes of 100 x 100 mm.
The correct way of using this tool, is to place the corner of
the hole marker in the corner of the space where the tile
with the hole is to be placed. By tightening the knob, the
marker will be fixed to the exact position of the hole, which
can then be transposed to the reverse of the tile by marking
it with a pencil.
Using the SHAPE TEMPLATE is very simple, just press the
template against the form to be marked and then transfer
the template and mark the shape on the tile using a pencil
or similar writing tool.
The use of the SHAPE MARKER is even simpler; it has a
pantograph which allows marking shapes to a high level of
precision.
These RUBI ® tools which have been specially designed for
tiling are excellent at achieving a perfect finish. They save
considerable time, by maximising time/output ratio, and
offering quick and efficient solutions.
Other tools include the SHAPE TEMPLATE and the SHAPE
MARKER. These two tools allow copying irregular shapes,
such as door frames, columns or edges onto tiles, so that
they can then be cut to high precision. Shapes can be marked
to a maximum size of 26 cm. length and 3 cm. width.

ADVICE
RELATED
PRODUCTS
When using the HOLE MARKER or the SHAPE MARKER
(both equipped with a pantograph) to mark the exact position
of a hole or shape, it has to be taken into account that when
transferring the shape to the tile to be cut, the tile will have
to be turned round to mark it on the reverse. (results are
different when marking the front or the reverse). In order
to achieve a cut of high precision, it is important to maintain
the right orientation of the tile during this process.
ADJUSTABLE MINI ANGLE SEEKER
Ref. 70942
Also, it is important to bear in mind the thickness of the
joint. To do this, in most cases it is recommended to measure
with the pantograph, whilst keeping a crosshead in place.
Should it be necessary, the position of the pantograph can
be inverted by rotating it 180 degrees when removing the
knob.
