UCF Utility Customers
From: Accounting-Utility Billing
Re:
New Procedures
In an effort to restrict the use of Educational & General (E&G) funds for Auxiliary customer
utilities, effective July 1, 2009, the following processes have been put in place:
• All existing and new Auxiliary customers (at the time of lease), must sign a contract in
order for the University to provide them with utility services. The Convocation
Corporation Property Manager will forward new customers to Facilities & Safety
Business Office to obtain the Utility contract for Retail area tenants who are seeking
services for utilities. Contracts will be forwarded in next month billing. Please sign and
return to: Accounting –Utility Billing address.
• All Auxiliary utility customers must provide a deposit equal to the estimated amount for
one month’s usage. The deposit amount will be indicated on the Utility Agreement.
• All past due invoices will be assessed a late fee in the amount equal to two percent of the
balance owed if payment is not postmarked or received by UCF on or before the due
date. Full payment, including any late fees and/or additional charges, is expected on the
due date when invoiced. If payment is not postmarked or received in full within 30 days
after the due date, disconnection procedures will start.

Overhead Rate Increase
Currently Facilities & Safety calculate the Overhead rate utilizing a work load analysis
from the various units (based on 1998/99 data) with a 3-5% increase every year starting
in 2005/06 based on the current years Consumer Price Index (CPI).
New Method for calculation of overhead rate will be based on a revised work load
analysis using current 2008/09 data. In addition, a new overhead rate will be
implemented for cost to replace meters. New rates will be noted on your July invoice.
