MedPoint Express recently opened
its first clinic, located at the front
of the Wal-Mart Supercenter in
Mishawaka. The clinic provides
expert care for life’s minor medical
problems. This new model makes
getting quality medical care more
convenient than ever by offering
services in a retail setting.
“With constant demands on
everyone’s time, MedPoint Express
can offer the convenience and
affordability patients are looking
for,” said Charles Parsiola, M.D.,
Medical Director for MedPoint
and MedPoint Express.
Just as the MedPoint model of
care came into its own 20 years
ago with the advent of urgent care,
MedPoint Express is a new model of
providing quality health care to an
increasingly consumer-driven market.
Patients at MedPoint Express
are cared for by a family nurse
practitioner who specializes in
treating a variety of everyday
ailments, from sinus infections to
impetigo. The nurse practitioner can
also check your cholesterol or blood
pressure, and can even administer
immunizations and flu shots.
“We’re responding to consumer
demands by offering cost-effective,
convenient health care for common
conditions,” said Dr. Parsiola.
“Patients are going to go where
it’s most convenient, and where
they find the highest quality. All
of that is available to them at
MedPoint Express.”
Memorial Home Care began this
model with the opening of a new
home care equipment and supply
store located in the front retail area
of the Super Wal-Mart on Portage
Avenue. The 700-square-foot store,
located near the checkout lanes,
offers lift chairs, scooters, walkers,
orthotics, braces and other home
health aids. This new retail model
complements Memorial Home
Care’s four existing stores in South
Bend, Plymouth, LaPorte and Knox.
