The report <strong>of</strong> the Committee on Continuance <strong>of</strong> Pastoral Relationships<br />
was read.<br />
<strong>Synod</strong> adjourned in prayer by D. R. Taggart.<br />
WEDNESDAY, JULY 21 - 9:30 A.M.<br />
<strong>Synod</strong> met pursuant to adjournment and was constituted in<br />
prayer by George Price.<br />
The minutes <strong>of</strong> the previous session were read and approved.<br />
The report <strong>of</strong> the Special Committee on the election <strong>of</strong> Seminary<br />
Pr<strong>of</strong>essors was taken up for reconsideration. The report was referred<br />
back to the committee for report at this <strong>Synod</strong>.<br />
The report <strong>of</strong> the Committee on Continuance <strong>of</strong> Pastoral Relationships<br />
was read again and taken up item by item.<br />
R. H. George was granted the privilege <strong>of</strong> the floor to speak on<br />
this matter.<br />
<strong>Synod</strong> went into a Committee <strong>of</strong> the Whole to take a test vote on<br />
the Continuance <strong>of</strong> Pastorates plan. The moderator was made the<br />
chairman <strong>of</strong> the Committee <strong>of</strong> the Whole.<br />
The Committee <strong>of</strong> the Whole rose and the report <strong>of</strong> the chairman<br />
to the effect that the Committee was in favor <strong>of</strong> a Continuance <strong>of</strong><br />
Pastorates Plan was adopted.<br />
Item one was adopted. Items two and three were amended and<br />
adopted. Item four was adopted. Item five was amended and adopted.<br />
Items six and seven were added and adopted. The report as a whole<br />
was adopted and is as follows:<br />

CONTINUANCE OF PASTORAL RELATIONSHIPS<br />
The assignment <strong>of</strong> this committee, paper number six, was to<br />
review and suggest changes or modifications <strong>of</strong> the plan advising<br />
"Five Year Term Pastorates" as recorded in the <strong>Minutes</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Synod</strong>,<br />
1948, page 144. Your committee wishes to report that it believes<br />
that one <strong>of</strong> the problems in the operation <strong>of</strong> this plan has centered
