was read.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 21 - 9:30 A.M.
Synod met pursuant to adjournment and was constituted in
prayer by George Price.
The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
The report of the Special Committee on the election of Seminary
Professors was taken up for reconsideration. The report was referred
back to the committee for report at this Synod.
The report of the Committee on Continuance of Pastoral Relationships
was read again and taken up item by item.
R. H. George was granted the privilege of the floor to speak on
this matter.
Synod went into a Committee of the Whole to take a test vote on
the Continuance of Pastorates plan. The moderator was made the
chairman of the Committee of the Whole.
The Committee of the Whole rose and the report of the chairman
to the effect that the Committee was in favor of a Continuance of
Pastorates Plan was adopted.
Item one was adopted. Items two and three were amended and
adopted. Item four was adopted. Item five was amended and adopted.
Items six and seven were added and adopted. The report as a whole
was adopted and is as follows:
COMMITTEE ON
CONTINUANCE OF PASTORAL RELATIONSHIPS
The assignment of this committee, paper number six, was to
review and suggest changes or modifications of the plan advising
"Five Year Term Pastorates" as recorded in the Minutes of Synod,
1948, page 144. Your committee wishes to report that it believes
that one of the problems in the operation of this plan has centered
