Reno‐Tahoe Photonics: Exhibiting at the NCET Entrepreneur Expo

On Friday, March 12 th , 2010 Reno Tahoe Photonics participated in and had a booth at the Nevada Center
for Entrepreneurship and Technology (NCET) Entrepreneur Expo in the Atlantis Ballroom at the Atlantis
Casino Resort Spa in Tahoe.
We revised and brought up to date our RTP brochure;

our OptiComp member booth to fit in to. It was a daylong event that all members had to coordinate their
schedules with their various businesses, and RTP is most appreciative of that. Our member businesses that
were there manning the booth and we appreciate are as follows: Michelle Hannah, WRS Materials Sales
(Corporate Member) & RTP Treasurer/Secretary, Gary Babykin, Ron Engelbrecht, AM Power Systems

Attendance was estimated to be over 1,200 (a lot for a Reno tech event)! Still the attendees can be
somewhat diverse and we were quite used to being asked the question “What is Photonics” the answer
of which is now on the back of our new brochure courtesy of the OSA website! We had examples of
photonics and optics in people’s everyday lives in the booth and did a lot of education. Our member
companies got exposure as well.
