From sick kids, health problems, to long time periods away from home they have all combined to prove trying. But they also keep us looking forward to the return of our Lord. Victories have included some expansion of our work into the Philippines. While we are still in the beginnings of our work there, we do believe the Lord is leading Moriel to expand our work there. The tour Jacob and I took around the Pacific was long, but very profitable. Meeting so many new brothers and sisters was such a blessing. There are so many people to thank for their kindness, encouragement and support it would be too long a list to include here. But please know I have a list of so many new brothers and sisters that I am now praying for. So I thank all of our Moriel supporters for your prayers and kindness towards us, May the Lord bless you all. New Book by Jacob Coming soon! This year we are looking forward to Jacob’s new book, “Shadows of the Beast: How the Antichrist Will Be Revealed to the Faithful Church.” We are working on the final corrections and hope to have it out soon in the New Year. So please pray we can get this done. Jacob sees this as a companion to his latest book, The Dilemma of Laodicea and hopes to start work on his next book, The Daniel Factor. These three books will be a great ‘last days’ trilogy collection, and should prove very helpful to the Body of Christ. Upcoming speaking tour Jacob will be doing a winter tour in the United States before returning to England. He is going to try to spend a little more time at home this year, cutting out his usual aroundthe-world trip. He wants to go to Africa in late June, as he did not make it there last year, followed by a shortened tour to the US and then the Greek study tour in late September. Study Tour of Greece Jacob will be leading a study tour of Greece in late September. When I went on the first one I learned so much. There is a wealth of teaching and I am sure Jacob has gathered even more to teach this time. He has stops planned where we did not visit last time. Also, when we visited Vergina and the tomb of Phillip II of Macedonia everyone was blown away. Very impressive! Get your reservations in early as Jacob likes to keep his study tours more intimate. Jacob Prasch Feature Article EPHESUS “Not Lasting” – First Century EPHESUS By Jacob Prasch Editor’s Note: The following is actually a reprint of the first chapter from Jacob’s latest book, The Dilemma of Laodicea. Among other things he explains that the seven churches in Revelation 2-3 represent at least four things: • Seven literal churches which existed at the time of John’s writing in the 1 st Century. • Seven types of churches which can exist at any period of Church history. • Seven general, overlapping periods of Church history. • Seven types of churches which will exist in the Last Days leading up to Christ’s Return. From them we do not simply learn a lesson about Church history, but how the spiritual patterns of each foreshadow a final fulfillment in the Last Days with a greater force and magnitude, much in the character of Jesus’ own description of “birth pangs”. We believe Jacob has provided in this book the ultimate tools of discernment by which any church, organization, or spiritual movement can be biblically examined to determine its true spiritual character. Each age of the Church as represented by each of the seven churches not only carries unique strengths and weaknesses, but provide a picture of how each fares under spiritual attacks to undermine their good intentions. And since each one is ultimately amplified in the Last Days, every Christian needs to understand how what occurred with each of the seven churches is being replayed before our very eyes today. EPHESUS: “Not Lasting” – First Century “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: “The One who holds the seven stars in His right hand, the One who walks among the seven golden lampstands, says this: “‘I know your deeds and your toil and perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate evil men, and you put to the test those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and you found them to be false; and you have perseverance and have endured for My name’s sake, and have not grown weary. But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place—unless you repent. Yet this you do have, that you hate the deeds of the “Nicolaitans,” which I also hate. “’He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.’” (Rev. 2:1-7) The Ephesian Age Ephesus differs from the other six of the seven churches in that it refers to the Apostolic or Ephesian age of the church up to the close of the first century AD.
