Exceptional Product Program
Construction professionals, homeowners, and business owners like you can earn
a financial incentive for purchasing new propane-fueled products for your home
or business. The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) is sponsoring
the Propane Exceptional Product program to introduce new propane-fueled
equipment to the residential and commercial market while collecting valuable
feedback on the performance of the equipment in real-world settings.
The Propane Exceptional Product program provides a financial incentive to
qualifying and selected participants who purchase propane-fueled premium
generator sets or combined heat and power systems. Learn more
To apply, visit www.propaneexceptionalproduct.com.
Meet the products
The Propane Exceptional Product program features two types of propanefueled
equipment. For a list of eligible products, download the program
guidelines at www.propaneexceptionalproduct.com.
Premium generator sets are designed to supplement renewable energy power
generation and other off-grid applications. Energy-efficient propane generator
sets can be easily combined with solar, wind, or other renewable energy
resources to create reliable, environmentally friendly hybrid energy systems
for residential and commercial applications. Units can also be used to charge
batteries for off-grid systems, such as telecommunications towers.
Combined heat and power (CHP) systems generate a portion of a home or
building’s total heating and electricity needs. The systems recover waste heat
from the electricity generator’s engine and use it for space and water heating,
increasing energy efficiency and lowering costs and emissions compared with
traditional power generation and heating technologies.
What do I provide
• Application for preapproval.
• Proof of purchase.
• Pre- and post-demonstration surveys about the use of the equipment.
• Access to the site for photos and videos of the equipment (if requested).
Incentives
Propane Exceptional Product program participants are paid a portion of the
incentive after they have purchased the equipment and supply PERC with proof
of payment (e.g., receipt). The remaining portion of the incentive will be paid
directly to the homeowner or business upon receipt of the post-season survey.
