What is an ETA Visa
An Electronic Travel Authority or “ETA” is an electronically stored authority for travel to Australia for
short term Tourist (Visitor) or Business entry.
An ETA visa may be issued by Travel Document Systems to citizens of the following nationalities only:
United States, Canada, Brunei - Darussalam, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore.
*Short term ETA visas are valid for multiple entries to Australia within 12 months of the date of
issue.
The ETA visa is good for multiple entries to Australia and allows travelers to stay in the country for
stays of up to three (3) months on any one entry.
The ETA is recorded electronically which eliminates visa stamps or labels in your passport. If an ETA is
granted you will take your current valid passport to the check in counter at the where the agent will
pull up your ETA in their records using the passport information you provided to Travel Document
Systems.

ETA CONDITIONS
You must not work while in Australia unless advised otherwise by the Department of Immigration and
Citizenship.
You must not study for more than three months.
You must be free from tuberculosis.
You must not have any criminal convictions for which you have been sentenced for a total combined
period of 12 months or more, whether or not the sentence/s were served.
You must be outside of Australia in order to apply for an ETA.

Each family member traveling to Australia must complete a separate information form above.
A Travel Document Systems visa specialist will contact you for any additional information required.

Authority.
