Inside Monarch Financial Holdings
Monarch Bank – Our banking and financial services
company has proudly served the Southeastern Virginia region
since 1999. Our four core businesses are: retail banking,
commercial banking, real estate construction and development
lending and complementary financial services. We have nine
banking offices in the cities of Chesapeake (2), Virginia Beach (4)
and Norfolk (3).
Monarch Private Client Group – Our team of financial
experts, who can assist the business executive, professional
or business owner with private client banking, investments,
insurance and financial planning.
Monarch Home Funding – Our residential mortgage
lending group offers conventional, FHA, VA and
VHDA loan programs.
Virginia Asset Group, LLC – Our full-service investment
and insurance firm that is dedicated to developing
long-term relationships.
Monarch Capital, LLC – Our commercial mortgage
brokerage subsidiary that offers non-recourse, long-term fixedrate
debt financing for hotels, shopping centers and other
commercial office buildings.
Monarch Charities – Our 503 (c) company that was
established to raise and distribute funds for children’s charities
in our communities.
Commitment to the Community
As we grow, so will our commitment to the community.
We believe in giving back to a region that has been so good
to us, and in 2006 Monarch employees were involved in
numerous nonprofit and cultural activities, serving as volunteers
at events, board members and making a difference in the
community. Our 2006 Golf Tournament raised over $120,000
and has benefited more than 40 local children’s charities and
raised over $375,000 since its formation. We are also particularly
proud of our pacesetting United Way campaign that garnered
more than $37,000 for local human services organizations –
79 percent over our goal! And we boast 100 percent participation
by our employees.

We believe that making our clients happy starts with making
our employees happy, and we are proud to have created a
company culture that makes coming to work both productive
and fun. This past year, Inside Business named Monarch Bank as
one of the region’s 10 Best Places to Work, an honor that has
helped us attract even more of Hampton Roads’ best bankers.
Monarch is now more than 120 strong, and we expect many
more Monarchians to take wing in the year ahead.
