<strong>Job</strong> Summary<br />
To manage all technical aspects of events at <strong>The</strong> <strong>Stables</strong> and other venues as required and to support<br />
the Head of Operations with the management and maintenance of the facility and ICT infrastructure.<br />

tasks.<br />
Principal Responsibilities<br />
1. To liaise and negotiate with other staff, visiting artists, agents and promoters, corporate and private<br />
hirers to agree auditorium configuration, technical riders, get in, rehearsal and get out<br />
arrangements for all events at <strong>The</strong> <strong>Stables</strong> and other projects and venues as required<br />
2. To ensure adequate technical cover for events managing the casual and volunteer technical staffing<br />
rota within a given budget and acting as Duty Presentation Manager as and when required (an<br />
average of one event per week is anticipated, but subject to meeting the needs of the business this<br />
may vary)<br />
3. To inspect, maintain, clean, repair and purchase technical equipment and consumables as required<br />
within agreed budgets, time frames and health & safety guidelines with responsibility for PAT<br />
testing as required<br />
4. To ensure the accurate recording of all technical equipment / assets owned by the Company and<br />
ensure appropriate security measures are applied to prevent losses<br />
5. To manage and develop casual duty technicians and volunteers, providing training, mentoring,<br />
guidance and advice as required and to be ‘on call’ to assist with problems which may occur during<br />
events where you are not scheduled to attend<br />
6. To provide support for the <strong>Stables</strong> ICT systems liaising with system suppliers and contract<br />
maintenance companies as required
7. To manage and oversee the development and installation of new technical or ICT equipment as<br />
required and to advise on purchases to comply with health & safety guidelines and good practice<br />
8. To assist with the development and maintenance of the equipment, infrastructure, and<br />
environment to support the creation of digital content and delivery of multi-media events and<br />
projects<br />
9. To be responsible for maintaining and delivering exceptionally high standards of presentation<br />
through sound, lights, and multi-media at events as required, leading by example, training,<br />
mentoring and supporting the freelance and volunteer team<br />
10. To support the education activities of the organisation where technical assistance is required and to<br />
conduct backstage tours, talks for students, friends and other interested parties as required<br />
11. To support the Head of Operations in the management and maintenance of the facility and to<br />
undertake minor repairs and maintenance as required<br />
12. To produce relevant risk assessments, ensuring that all staff and visitors are aware of health &<br />
safety procedures and to be responsible for ensuring compliance with these guidelines<br />
13. To provide the technical resources for pre-recorded messages for use before, during and after<br />
events, audio brochures, and support and develop digital projects (including filming, editing,<br />
recording, broadcasting) across the organisation<br />
14. To support and work with a range of freelance staff including the team for IF: Milton Keynes<br />
International Festival as required<br />
15. To act as a key holder for <strong>The</strong> <strong>Stables</strong>, with shared responsibility for opening and closing the<br />
building, acting as Duty <strong>The</strong>atre Manager as required<br />
16. To manage all technical aspects of productions, corporate, private and community hires including<br />
studio hires as required including audio and video recordings, live streaming and stage / production<br />
management<br />
17. To ensure that all performance equipment and property is respected by staff and visiting companies<br />
and to maintain clean and tidy work areas at all times<br />
18. To undertake any other duties and training as required that are commensurate with the general<br />
level of responsibility for this post
Required Knowledge and Experience<br />

Educational<br />
Qualifications<br />
• Good passes at GSCE level or<br />
equivalent experience<br />
• Electrical Qualification<br />
• Further education<br />
qualification in technical<br />
theatre studies<br />
<strong>Job</strong> Related Experience • At least 2 years practical<br />
experience of working in the<br />
technical team of a music / arts<br />
organisation<br />
• Experience of setting and<br />
operating stage lighting and sound<br />
systems with a particular aptitude<br />
for sound<br />
• Experience of working in a digital<br />
environment including sound<br />
desk, lighting desk, filming,<br />
recording, and broadcasting<br />
• An understanding of current<br />
Health & Safety legislation<br />
• Good communications skills –<br />
written, verbal, telephone<br />
• Good administrative skills<br />
including record keeping<br />
• A good understanding of<br />
computer networks and other ICT<br />
systems<br />
• Experience of managing and<br />
training staff or volunteers<br />
