QUALIFICATIONS<br />
<strong>School</strong> Administrative Unit No. <strong>55</strong> is seeking an innovative and highly<br />
motivated educational leader to serve as <strong>Superintendent</strong> of <strong>School</strong>s for<br />
the Hampstead and <strong>Timberlane</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>School</strong> Districts. Desired<br />
competencies include:<br />
EDUCATION<br />
Certificate of Graduate Studies or higher<br />
CERTIFICATION<br />
New Hampshire Certification as <strong>Superintendent</strong> of <strong>School</strong>s<br />
LEADERSHIP<br />
Proven leadership as a central office administrator who promotes trust<br />
and confidence through integrity-based leadership by fostering employee<br />
loyalty, team structure and values importance of morale; a minimum of<br />
5 years leadership experience required.<br />
CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION<br />
A well informed educational leader able to examine educational trends<br />
and engage district personnel in the development of meaningful<br />
programs.<br />
STUDENT SERVICES<br />
Established knowledge of special education and behavioral management<br />
and safety as well as special education transportation systems.<br />
PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT<br />
Excellent communicator who is an effective listener and is experienced<br />
in the deployment, supervision and evaluation of employees and<br />
recruiting and hiring procedures.<br />
FINANCE<br />
Possesses a solid foundation as a fiscal manager in budget development,<br />
implementation and monitoring; union negotiation experience and NH<br />
education funding system knowledge preferred.<br />
COMMUNICATIONS/COMMUNITY RELATIONS<br />
Has excellent interpersonal and public relation skills with an emphasis<br />
in transparency with the community.<br />
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT<br />
Embraces an understanding and strategy for long-term planning of<br />
educational programs.<br />
CONTRACT AND COMPENSATION<br />
<strong>School</strong> Administrative Unit No. <strong>55</strong> is prepared to offer an<br />
initial multi-year contract, renewable yearly with a starting<br />
compensation competitive for the region, commensurate with<br />
qualifications and experience. The contract will include a<br />
competitive benefits package.<br />

<strong>School</strong> Administrative Unit No. <strong>55</strong> provides administrative services to both<br />
the Hampstead and <strong>Timberlane</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>School</strong> Districts.<br />
Less than an hour’s drive from the cultural, academic and commercial<br />
resources of Boston, MA, both school districts are but an hour or so from<br />
the vast recreational resources of the New Hampshire and Vermont<br />
mountains, and the beautiful Atlantic beaches of New Hampshire,<br />
Massachusetts and Maine.<br />
THE HAMPSTEAD COMMUNITY AND<br />
SCHOOL DISTRICT<br />
Located in southeastern New Hampshire, Hampstead is a picturesque town<br />
with rich historical heritages. Due to its ideal location, residents have the<br />
option of orienting towards both Salem and Derry, NH. The town offers<br />
its citizens a quiet, secure and creative environment in which summer<br />
concerts attract its citizens and visitors from surrounding towns.<br />
Meaningful communication between town and schools affords the very best<br />
to both the community and school district.<br />
With a population of over 1,400 students, the<br />
Hampstead <strong>School</strong> District operates a preschool<br />
through grade four primary school and a fifth<br />
through grade eight middle school. High school<br />
students are tuitioned to Pinkerton Academy in<br />
Derry, NH. In-district administrative support<br />

productive relationship with the five-member school board. The Assistant<br />
<strong>Superintendent</strong> serves as the primary chief administrator for the<br />
Hampstead <strong>School</strong> District managing an operational budget of $24 million<br />
in addition to providing support for the <strong>Superintendent</strong> in other<br />
responsibilities. Both the elementary and middle schools prides itself on<br />
numerous awards for academics, athletics, arts and social achievements.<br />

THE TIMBERLANE COMMUNITY AND<br />
SCHOOL DISTRICT<br />
The four towns comprising the <strong>Timberlane</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>School</strong><br />
District are located in southeastern New Hampshire close to<br />
the Merrimack Valley. While the two more southerly towns<br />
of Atkinson and Plaistow have been oriented toward<br />
Haverhill, Massachusetts for commercial and employment<br />
centers, the towns of Sandown and Danville have been<br />
oriented towards the cities of Salem and Manchester, NH.<br />
The <strong>Timberlane</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>School</strong> District boasts the ninth<br />
largest school district in the state housing a total student<br />
population of 4,165 and 730 staff members. The district is<br />
home to seven schools, including five elementary, one<br />
middle, and one high school.<br />
Each of the participating towns has its own elementary<br />
school with Sandown hosting two. While each school has its<br />
own individual flavor, common curriculum and resources are<br />
utilized throughout the district. Central office<br />
