QUALIFICATIONS
School Administrative Unit No. 55 is seeking an innovative and highly
motivated educational leader to serve as Superintendent of Schools for
the Hampstead and Timberlane Regional School Districts. Desired
competencies include:
EDUCATION
Certificate of Graduate Studies or higher
CERTIFICATION
New Hampshire Certification as Superintendent of Schools
LEADERSHIP
Proven leadership as a central office administrator who promotes trust
and confidence through integrity-based leadership by fostering employee
loyalty, team structure and values importance of morale; a minimum of
5 years leadership experience required.
CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION
A well informed educational leader able to examine educational trends
and engage district personnel in the development of meaningful
programs.
STUDENT SERVICES
Established knowledge of special education and behavioral management
and safety as well as special education transportation systems.
PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT
Excellent communicator who is an effective listener and is experienced
in the deployment, supervision and evaluation of employees and
recruiting and hiring procedures.
FINANCE
Possesses a solid foundation as a fiscal manager in budget development,
implementation and monitoring; union negotiation experience and NH
education funding system knowledge preferred.
COMMUNICATIONS/COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Has excellent interpersonal and public relation skills with an emphasis
in transparency with the community.
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
Embraces an understanding and strategy for long-term planning of
educational programs.
CONTRACT AND COMPENSATION
School Administrative Unit No. 55 is prepared to offer an
initial multi-year contract, renewable yearly with a starting
compensation competitive for the region, commensurate with
qualifications and experience. The contract will include a
competitive benefits package.

School Administrative Unit No. 55 provides administrative services to both
the Hampstead and Timberlane Regional School Districts.
Less than an hour’s drive from the cultural, academic and commercial
resources of Boston, MA, both school districts are but an hour or so from
the vast recreational resources of the New Hampshire and Vermont
mountains, and the beautiful Atlantic beaches of New Hampshire,
Massachusetts and Maine.
THE HAMPSTEAD COMMUNITY AND
SCHOOL DISTRICT
Located in southeastern New Hampshire, Hampstead is a picturesque town
with rich historical heritages. Due to its ideal location, residents have the
option of orienting towards both Salem and Derry, NH. The town offers
its citizens a quiet, secure and creative environment in which summer
concerts attract its citizens and visitors from surrounding towns.
Meaningful communication between town and schools affords the very best
to both the community and school district.
With a population of over 1,400 students, the
Hampstead School District operates a preschool
through grade four primary school and a fifth
through grade eight middle school. High school
students are tuitioned to Pinkerton Academy in
Derry, NH. In-district administrative support
consists of:

Central office administrative support includes the Superintendent of
Schools, Assistant Superintendent, Business Administrator, Assistant
Business Administrator, Human Resource Director and Transportation

productive relationship with the five-member school board. The Assistant
Superintendent serves as the primary chief administrator for the
Hampstead School District managing an operational budget of $24 million
in addition to providing support for the Superintendent in other
responsibilities. Both the elementary and middle schools prides itself on
numerous awards for academics, athletics, arts and social achievements.

THE TIMBERLANE COMMUNITY AND
SCHOOL DISTRICT
The four towns comprising the Timberlane Regional School
District are located in southeastern New Hampshire close to
the Merrimack Valley. While the two more southerly towns
of Atkinson and Plaistow have been oriented toward
Haverhill, Massachusetts for commercial and employment
centers, the towns of Sandown and Danville have been
oriented towards the cities of Salem and Manchester, NH.
The Timberlane Regional School District boasts the ninth
largest school district in the state housing a total student
population of 4,165 and 730 staff members. The district is
home to seven schools, including five elementary, one
middle, and one high school.
Each of the participating towns has its own elementary
school with Sandown hosting two. While each school has its
own individual flavor, common curriculum and resources are
utilized throughout the district. Central office
administration support includes an Assistant
Superintendent, Business and Assistant Business
Administrator, Human Resource Director, Technology
Director, Pupil Personnel Director and Assistant Director,
Facilities and Transportation Directors.
