UK – Luxembourg: the global opportunity for asset management
Dear Sir/Madam,
The Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry, ALFI, is delighted to inform you of the latest in
our successful series of global fund industry conferences, which takes place on:
Wednesday 23rd May 2012
IET London: Savoy Place
This thought-provoking conference will feature some of the biggest names in the fund
management industry who will provide valuable insights into latest developments, including the
impact of regulation, distribution opportunities and the growth of alternatives vehicles.
Expert speakers and panellists at the conference have been drawn from the Luxembourg and UK
fund industry, and have been chosen for their profile, experience and know-how.
Each of the morning panel sessions is tailored to provide detailed and practical information on
topics that present the greatest challenges and opportunities for the fund industry. These sessions
will focus on:
• The impact on the fund industry of regulatory initiatives such as AIFMD, the Volcker Rule and
the Dodd-Frank Act, LPE, FTT, FATCA and MIFID II.
• Distribution opportunities for UCITS funds in Asia and Latin America.
• The upcoming decision over the categorization of complex & non-complex UCITS
• The practical challenges of new UCITS IV rules and the ManCo & Master Feeder structures
• How to prosper from the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive
The afternoon sessions consist of workshops; one on UCITS and three aimed at helping
alternative fund managers to build their businesses. The latter will focus on:
• Hedge Funds: the converging UCITS & AIFMD landscape
• Real Estate: international portfolios and global real estate investment funds
• Private Equity: a growing part of the Luxembourg success story
The conference, which will provide excellent networking opportunities, is free of charge to fund
professionals and includes a complementary buffet lunch and afternoon tea. The programme can
