SUNDAY ATC CADETS ALL DAY EARLY START<br />
MEMBERS NEWS<br />
We managed the fourth door last Saturday. The usual suspects , Derry Belcher, Roy Whitby, Gary Patten,<br />
Ivor Woodfield, Ray Burns, Steve Foreman, Neville Swan, and Lionel Page turned up get the job done. Good to<br />
see Bob Cridland come out to keep an eye on us as well as a visit from Genny. Now for the other end.<br />

SUNDAY<br />
No Flying but weather this time, It was raining. Wooohooo<br />
NO FLYING THIS SATURDAY (yeah, yeah, I know I got the date wrong…it was not last Saturday, it is this<br />
Saturday.<br />
The Air Force are going to be using 08 grass for helicopter work and we will not be able to operate. What to<br />
do I know…..another nice big working bee to do some more hangar doors. We should be ready to fly if<br />
we get a chance, (lunch break, they finish early, Iroquois breaks down etc) as we will have little or no Twin<br />
availability for our members on Sunday<br />
ATC FLYING SUNDAY<br />
We are hosting 30 Sqn ATC, (Our local Squadron) all day on Sunday. Some time ago we (the committee)<br />
agreed to their request for a whole day of gliding, before we broke our towplane. We need an early start.,
some willing helpers, the whip cracked to keep things moving along and some of our students ready to fill any<br />
gaps in the program. We also need folks to give the next to fly a cockpit layout check in the single so we can<br />
save time on the turnround.<br />
OUR SAD TOWPLANE<br />
RDW is at Parakai care of a trailer and the parts are on the way. Wings fold nice and easy<br />
In the meantime we are looking for another tug for a short period. We think we have Cessna 172 ZK DSM for<br />
a period but are waiting for confirmation<br />
THE GREAT HANGAR REPAINT … DOORS THIS TIME.<br />
Last Saturday we managed the fourth door. This Saturday, we probably will not be allowed to fly So can we<br />
do another one What do we need. Lots of bodies, Angle grinders and sanding/rust removal discs fitted,<br />
some extension leads, scrapers, paintbrushes, screw drivers, impact rattle drivers, (to get the TEK screws<br />
out), saw horses and anything else you think we might need. With enough gear and bodies we should be able to<br />
do three or four doors at, maybe all remaining five doors.<br />
Early start please and we should be able to knock these off.<br />
JUMPSTART WEEKEND<br />
Jumpstart, parachuting for Canteen and disadvantaged kids is on 13/14 April. We can fly but it is going to be<br />
pretty sporadic and we will get called down lots. Your committee has been doing some investigating and found<br />
Springhill up near Wellsford is more than happy to see us for the weekend. So that’s where we are going.<br />
Trailer up the singles, aerotow the twin, take MW trailer anyway. Wellsford is 5 minutes North and<br />
Warkworth about 10 minutes South. We can camp on the airfield but not sleep in the clubrooms. We will firm
up organization closer to the time but could we have an indication of numbers likely to come on up, either for<br />
the day or for the weekend. Numbers to Gary Patten please<br />
