Chapter Reports<br />

Professor Joanne Snow reported that the INDIANA EPSILON Chapter<br />

(Saint Mary's College) was addressed by John Emert (Ball State University)<br />

at the department's amual Open House. The chapter performed various service<br />

activities during the year.<br />

It was reported that three talks were presented to the NEW YORK<br />

OMEGA Chapter (Saint Bonaventure University) during the 1995-96<br />

academic year. David Tascione, chapter Secretai)'-Treasurer, was awarded the<br />

Mathematics Medal, and the Myra J. Reed Award (<strong>Pi</strong> <strong>Mu</strong> <strong>Epsilon</strong> Award) went<br />

to graduating President Nicole Giovanniello.<br />

Professor Cathy Talley reported that the TEXAS ZETA Chapter<br />

(Angelo State University) was addressed by Mr. Trey Smith at the fall<br />

induction ceremony and by Dr. Charles Diminnie at the spring induction<br />

ceremony. The chapter co-sponsored three mathematics forms during the year.<br />

Dr. David Sutherland reported that the ARKANSAS BETA Chapter<br />

(Hendrix College) was addressed by five speakers during the year. Their<br />

Undergraduate Research Program was very active. The McHenry-Lane<br />

Freshman Math Award was given to Zachary Manis. The Hogan Senior Math<br />

Award was given to Diana Hua and Jennifer Powell. The Phillip Parker<br />

Undergraduate Research Award was given to Jac Cole. Graduating with<br />

Distinction was Jac Cole, Diana Hua, and Jennifer Powell.<br />
