Bloorview Kids Foundation exists to
raise funds for Bloorview Kids Rehab.
For over a century, Bloorview has been
dedicated to enhancing the lives of
children with disabilities and their
families. It has grown to be the largest
and most comprehensive children’s
rehabilitation teaching hospital in
Canada, and a global leader in the field
of childhood disability.
When you entrust Bloorview Kids
Foundation with a donation, we
commit to ensuring your investment
achieves its objective by having a high
calibre Board of Directors, an
outstanding management team, an
excellent relationship with Bloorview
Kids Rehab, and a solid corporate
governance model.
It has been a remarkably difficult year,
characterized by the worst economic
and financial market collapse since the
Great Depression. The sharp decline in
equity values adversely affected
endowment levels and philanthropic
giving throughout North America.
Bloorview Kids Foundation met the
challenges of the year by growing our
donor base, maintaining the integrity
of our endowment funds, and meeting
100% of our grant commitment to
Bloorview Kids Rehab.
We have three retiring Board members
this year: Ron Jones, Deborah
Alexander and Ron Kimel. We thank
each of them for their time, support
and guidance. We welcome three new
Board members this year: Charlie Sims,
President & CEO of Mackenzie
Financial Corporation; Jason Smith,
President & CEO of Solidifi Inc.; and
Giorgina Bigioni, former VP Group
Publisher of St. Joseph Media/Key
Publishers.
