BRITISH EDUCATION EXHIBITION

The British Embassy and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) in Romania, in
partnership with the British Council, will be organising a ‘table-top’ exhibition
for UK providers of education to be held at Howard Johnson – City Centre.
This will be an excellent opportunity for UK institutions to interact with
Romanian students interested in studying in the UK but also with potential
partners for longer term collaboration.
Why attend
Romania is the second largest country in Central and Eastern Europe after Poland. The school
population reached 4 million people in 2012, with over 800,000 in high-school and over 600,000
in universities. In the absence of official data regarding the number of Romanian students
studying abroad, estimations indicate approx. 50,000 students.
Romanian students register an increasing interest in obtaining international education and British
schools/universities are held in very high regard. The rapid spread of English language
competence among younger people is a further advantage for UK providers.
The exhibitors will benefit from full support from the British Embassy staff and British Council
prior, during and after the exhibition.
PARTICIPATION
Registration should be submitted no later than 1 November 2013.
The number of participants is limited. The participation fee for each UK company is £1,224 (exc
VAT) but a discount of 50% will be applied as participants to UKTI sponsored trade mission so the
actual fee will be £ 612, exc VAT You should also factor in costs associated with travel to/from
Bucharest and any additional hotel nights not covered below.
The offer includes:

3 nights’ accommodation at Howard Johnson (one delegate per company)
Corporate rate for additional nights/delegates

A stand (table and chairs) for promotional material/short demos

Saturday night dinner in a traditional Romanian restaurant (for two people per stand)
Networking Reception at the British Ambassador’s Residence on 22 November
Company profile in event catalogue
Country wide marketing campaign of the event
Opportunity to present your institution in a separate seminar room
Exhibition briefing provided to participants shortly before the exhibition opens (this will
cover market trends, information specific to the exhibition, upcoming promotion and
opportunities).
Left-over promotional materials from the Exhibition displayed in special Education UK
corner within the British Council’s Learning Resources Centres in Bucharest, Iasi and Cluj
(at least one month)
Stand assistants, available upon request.
Partnership brokering meetings for helping participants identify institutions for future
partnerships. Meeting requests to be addressed in advance to the British Embassy staff as
early as possible.
MARKETING
Prior to the event UKTI will produce an exhibition catalogue with company profiles and
representatives’ names to be distributed prior and during the exhibition (participants are
requested to supply 100-word company description, contact details and company logo)
