Laboratory Medicine<br />

Laboratory <strong>services</strong> in lists 1, 2 and 3, provided outside of a hospital or<br />

any other facility in which laboratory costs are funded by the <strong>Saskatchewan</strong><br />

Health, Regional Accountability Branch are insured as defined in the lists:<br />

Physician<br />

Payment Approved For<br />

Pathologist Lists 1, 2, 3<br />

Physician with a registered<br />

Laboratory Technician Lists 1, 2<br />

Other Physicians Lists 1<br />

"Pathologist" -- means a specialist whose name appears on the list of<br />

specialists maintained by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of<br />

the Province of <strong>Saskatchewan</strong> as being a pathologist.<br />

Classification: Diagnostic<br />

The following <strong>services</strong> are insured when provided by a physician or by<br />

a registered laboratory technologist or a certified combined laboratory<br />

and x-ray technician in a medical laboratory which holds a Category II<br />

licence issued pursuant to The <strong>Medical</strong> Laboratory Licensing Act .<br />

A Category II laboratory must employ a registered laboratory technologist<br />

or certified combined laboratory and x-ray technician.<br />
