OLEAN, OSSINING a n d HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA HONORED AT NYSPHSAA’S ANNUAL BANQUET FOR STATE SPORTSMANSHIP HONORS The <strong>Athletic</strong> <strong>Association</strong> presented Olean (Section VI), Ossining (Section I), and Honeoye <strong>Fall</strong>s-Lima (Section V) <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong>s <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> Good Sports Achievement banners at the annual Hall of Fame banquet this past August as the top 2006-07 NYSPHSAA schools promoting sportsmanship in their communities and schools. “It’s our goal for all of our member schools to make sportsmanship a top priority, however Olean, Ossining, and Honeoye <strong>Fall</strong>s-Lima high schools focused a great deal of attention to sportsmanship last year and deserve to be rewarded for the hard work and commitment to a very important aspect of high school athletics,” said Lloyd Mott, NYSPHSAA Assistant Director and administrator of the <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> Good Sports program. <strong>Athletic</strong> administrators from each winning school attended the <strong>Association</strong>’s banquet, held in Lake Placid, and were introduced before being presented the banner by Mott and Pupil Benefits Administrator Tom McGuire. The award is presented annually to schools which have developed proactive approaches in keeping sportsmanship in the forefront with their students, coaches, spectators, and communities. Last year marked the 12th year that deserving schools have been recognized by the <strong>Association</strong>’s <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> Good Sports program which is co-sponsored by Pupil Benefits, Inc. 10
