• While many of the NPH homes have large
dormitories, Casa Santa Ana has small family-style
homes, each with its own kitchen and garden.
• The baseball field was built and improved by
Lindos Sueños, a community outreach program of
the Boston Red Sox.
• Outreach programs include teaching classes, and
constructing houses and latrines in nearby bateyes
(low income settlements). More than 1,000 people
received assistance in 2013.
• In 2013, construction was completed on the second floor of the high school and 11th grade
classes. A home for children with special needs and a cyber café also opened. In addition,
13 students graduated from high school, and two young women became the home’s first to
begin attending university.
