The drill spacing according to geology is the main factor to use in general for mineral resources classification. In the present case, grade predictability is easy to achieve, as is generally the case for industrial minerals hosted in sedimentary rocks. The shape of the geology is also relatively simple, but structures may locally complexify the geometry. However, the volumes do not vary significantly from method to method. The key factor is then the presence or not of drillholes and their spacing. In the 3D model, Mr. Lafleur used the number of drillholes times the number of samples divided by the average distance of samples to the block to study the classification of the mineral resources. He also set limits to the projection of tonnes using the same pit shells as Mr. Levaque. Since the ore outcrops, it is deemed Indicated Resources where sufficient drilling exists up to a distance of about 215m from existing drillholes. Since there is no mining plan at this stage, it is probably prudent not to classify portion of the Resources as Measured Resources. There is no claystone left to the North or South, only negligible amounts East or West. There is claystone left in the “floor” below 100m A.S.L. but, since it is below the two major river beds, only a thorough hydrogeological investigation would make this material available. It is for these reasons, that there is no Inferred Resources for the main oxides linked directly to the Claystone and the Mudstone. Otherwise, mineral resources at depth below 100m A.S.L. could be inferred. The data for REE is much less (142 assays) than for major oxides (2606 assays). As a result, the grade for REE is not as accurate as for Al 2 O 3 in the claystone and mudstone. REE is also found in much smaller quantity, 350 to 550 ppm, instead of 17% to 27% Al 2 O 3 . However, similitude of distribution and statistical signature, including a correlation by rock type to Al 2 O 3 indicate that REE will continue to display the same pattern when more assays become available. In addition, the original economic target is alumina. The viability of the project depends on the alumina recovery. REE are found at very low concentration, more than 10 to 20 times lower than actual REE mining operations or potential deposits. The REE alone could not justify the project and should be considered as a byproduct. Therefore, the addition of REE data does not affect the classification of the mineral resources negatively. 14.6.1 Mineral Resource Statement As the estimated tonnage done using 2 different methods gave similar results, the original estimate produced by Mr. J-G Levaque remains valid and is used as the mineral resources for this PEA. The following Table 14-5 shows the grades within the 1,040 million tonnes of Indicated Resources for the Marin Sector of the Grande-Vallée Project belonging to Orbite Aluminae Inc. The average grade considers all analyses that have at least 18% Al₂O₃, and a density of 2.6g/cm³. The effective date of these mineral resources estimate is November 23, 2011. Some of the mineral resources in the location of the proposed Pit (Genivar) have more drillholes. Therefore, they could qualify as Measured Resources, but this requires a mining plan which will be defined in the next stage by Orbite in a Feasibility Study. Mr. Levaque pointed out that some of the resources below 100 m A.S.L. could be reported as Inferred, but since they are below the river bed nearby, it is recommended to write them off at the moment. Mr. Lafleur agrees with the opinion of Mr. Levaque. It is a practice used in industrial mineral where large volumes of material are moved to avoid waste removal and water pumping for as long as possible. The Grande-Vallée project has more than sufficient indicated mineral resources of that nature to apply this policy. The feasibility of this practice will be confirmed in the next stage with the feasibility study. Roche cautions that mineral resources have no demonstrated economic viability. In addition, there is no certainty that all or part of the mineral resources will be converted into reserves. Based on verifications in the field and on the information provided for this assessment, the authors of this section believe that the geological interpretation and the data are valid. Overall, it is the author’s opinion that the parameters, assumptions, geological model and data reflect a reasonable approach, and are representative of the type and setting of the claystone and mudstone deposit of the Grande-Vallée Orbite Aluminae Inc.
