With every single body panel re-engineered,
this is no cosmetic makeover. Every single
line on the New Golf is built to thrill. It’s
a design that elegantly bridges the divide
between classic and cutting-edge. A design
that is entirely new, yet unmistakably a Golf.
The longer wheel-base, shorter overhangs
and even more precise lines provide new,
yet classic design dynamics. Bigger than its
predecessor and more refined, the New Golf
embodies an iconic, timeless design.

just ONE look.
Despite having been completely redesigned,
the New Golf retains the characteristic Golf
styling features. That recognisable, confident
smile sits proudly below a V-shaped bonnet
and streamlined front grille. These elements are
balanced by elegantly-contoured headlights.
When viewed from the side, the New Golf
looks agile and athletic, featuring the
characteristic, bold, signature C-pillar. It
is undeniably more elegant, sporty and
sophisticated. The signature character or
“tornado” line now runs below the door
handles and is sharper and more precise,
giving the New Golf a stylish finesse.
The rear of the New Golf is generously
proportioned – the more pronounced
bumper and redesigned geometry of the
rear headlights creates a striking, modern
appearance that still resonates with the
car’s heritage.

A lavish but understated interior is class
personified. Restrained and refined with
absolutely no bling in sight. The interior is
quite simply way ahead of its class. It is not
only more spacious but has all-new ergonomic
seating, whilst upgraded air-conditioning keeps
the cabin cool and comfortable. Every detail
has been considered and then re-considered
with a more spacious and crafted interior that
incorporates the most luxurious fabrics, softtouch
plastics and premium quality materials,
and not to mention the shape of the gearshift
knob which has been customised to perfectly fit
into the human hand.
The centre console has been angled towards the
driver and has been intuitively designed for ease
of use. The New Golf interior is exceptionally
crafted and the lines flow seamlessly.
Well-contoured body lines and optimal support
for dynamic driving make for superior comfort.
The Comfortline and Highline are both equipped
with standard two-way lumbar support on the
driver and front passenger seats. ISOFIX anchorage
points allow you to mount two child seats on the rear
seat bench.
The 3-spoke leather multi-function steering wheel
allows you even more control over the car’s interior
features. Electric window switches are located on
the armrests, with a convenient electric mirror
adjustment control in the front door handle on
the driver’s side. Remote control folding keys, with a
central locking feature provide enhanced security.
You can load more into the New Golf because of
increased luggage capacity and a lower loading lip.
A height-adjustable and removable luggage
compartment floor in the trunk provides extra space
when the spare wheel is removed. Now you can
carry it all in one trip.
It’s first class travel for much less than you
would expect.

multimedia touchscreen. The high-end
touchscreen, senses your finger movements
and reacts even before you touch it, connects
to your tablet or phone with ease and has
a wipe and zoom feature for easy control.
The interior cabin is a triumph of innovation
but where the New Golf truly shines is on the
road. With an array of dynamic innovations
including Auto-hold, an Electronic Park
Brake and Cruise Control with speed limiter,
the New Golf is a polished over achiever.

Ambient Lighting*
Inside the cabin, the ambient lighting creates
a pleasant and atmospheric effect, while
two reading lamps in both the front and
rear produce pinpoint beams of light.
The interior lighting features a switch-off delay
and dimmer function, lighting under the exterior
mirrors as well as an LED rear reading light.

Yet another unique feature for a car in the
Golf class, the Comfortline and Highline
models offer a mobile hotspot feature.
This is a bit different from some – the car
itself has a carrier service for some of the
navigation systems, so you can enable a
hotspot and then allow passengers (or
the driver while stopped) to tap into the
signal with a laptop, tablet or phone.

All Comfortline models include an innovative
Light and Visibility Package (pictured
right). This package consists of Automatic
Headlight Activation including separate
Daytime Running Lights, a “Leaving Home”

Airbags
With the most prolific generation-ongeneration
improvements to active and
passive safety innovations, the New Golf
is one of the safest cars ever built. Seven
airbags standard, a new generation braking
system incorporating ABS, ESP with EDL,
and an epic range of new driver assistance
innovations provide ultimate peace of mind.
The New Golf’s groundbreaking safety
and assistance innovations have been
acknowledged in its 5-star Euro NCAP Safety
rating, where its standard Multi-Collision
brake system was also recognised as a
pioneering safety innovation. The futuristic
Multi-Collision Braking System automatically
engages when the vehicle is involved in an
accident in order to significantly reduce
vehicle speed, helping to avoid secondary
collisions. In addition, the New Golf was
awarded four Innovation Awards by Euro
NCAP for its significant advancements in
safety credentials.
Front airbags include passenger airbag
deactivation and a knee airbag on the
driver’s side. A curtain airbag system for both
front and rear passengers, with side airbags
in front. Seven airbags in total, provide safety
for all the precious human cargo.
Standard across the range are active
safety systems like the Electronic Stability
Programme (ESP), which literally keeps you
on the road when under or over steering, or
when taking corrective action due to a road
hazard. Incorporating Anti-Spin Regulation
(ASR), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with
Brake Assist, Engine Drag Torque Control
(EDTC) and Electronic Differential Lock (EDL)
with Electronic Transverse Lock (XDS), the ESP
detects when conditions have caused you to
lose control of your vehicle and engages
accordingly to keep you safely on the road.
Also standard are the Electric Parking Brake
with auto-hold function and indirect tyrepressure
monitoring system.
The New Golf is one of the safest cars on

Cruise Control with Speed Limiter*
Set a maximum speed when you’re cruising
on a long trip and Cruise Control will display
a warning light when you travel faster than
the set speed.

High Beam Control Light Assist*
Via a camera on the windscreen, the High
Beam Control Light Assist system analyses the
traffic ahead, as well as oncoming traffic. The
system then automatically dips the main light
beam to avoid blinding other road users.
Cornering fog lights are optional on the
Trendline and standard from the Comfortline.

Park Assist 2.0
Park Assist 2.0 offers assisted parallel as well
as perpendicular parking. The optional system
detects a large enough parking space and
after putting the vehicle into reverse, all the
driver has to do is operate the accelerator
and brake. The car takes care of the rest and
steers itself into the parking.

a 5-inch touchscreen radio with CD & MP3
player, SD card slot and 8 speakers, leather
multi-function steering wheel, a climatic
air conditioning system and multi-function

Many assistance systems such as Multi-
Collision Brake, tyre pressure monitor, and
Electronic Stability Programme with Electronic
Differential Lock (XDS) and an Electronic Park
Brake with auto-hold function make the ride
