This year’s whole college production has taken on a life all
its own with lots of curriculum areas becoming involved in
our theme, Our Year of Sustainable Living.
The dinner, held on June 29th in our Student Common Room,
was part of this whole school enterprise which both staff and
students embraced enthusiastically. Our catering, hospitality,
music students and staff made food for this event, such as
the cheese, smoked meats and utilised produce grown and
harvested right here on campus.
We would like to gratefully acknowledge the staff, students and generous suppliers for their support
of the dinner. All profits and proceeds went to sustainable projects such as, National Tree Day, Global
Communities Cambodia Home Building Project and the College Kitchen Garden.
A successful evening enjoyed by eighty guests in all!
The Newstead College community would like to
thank Senator, Helen Polley, for the kind donation
of the Australian flag. Our SRC president, Kyle and
Principal, Janet Sims was on hand to receive the
donation in a tradition hand over presentation.
The old tattered flag had done us a great service
and we look forward to raising the new one for
many years to come.
