VISION<br />
To be a leading international institute of technology<br />
for both teaching/learning and research.<br />
MISSION<br />
1. Primarily to produce high-quality bachelor’s degree engineers, and<br />
related technologists who are able to handle advanced industrial<br />
technologies and use English as a working language.<br />
2. To conduct research and development in engineering and related<br />
technologies relevant to teaching and modern industries.<br />
Brief Historical Development<br />
1992 Agreement of Cooperation between Thammasat University and the Federation of Thai<br />
Industries and Keidanren to set up bachelor's degree programs in engineering<br />
1992 Admission of the first batch of students to bachelor's degree programs in civil, electrical<br />
and industrial engineering<br />
1993 Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri <strong>Sirindhorn</strong> graciously laid the cornerstone of the<br />
Institute's main building<br />
1994 Issuance of regulations on the formation and operation of the <strong>International</strong> Institute of<br />
Technology as a non-government and autonomous institute by Thammasat University<br />
Council<br />
1996 His Majesty the King graciously granted the name "<strong>Sirindhorn</strong> <strong>International</strong> Institute of<br />
Technology”<br />
1996 His Majesty the King graciously accepted the first Honorary Doctoral Degree in Information<br />
Technology (IT) from <strong>SIIT</strong>, which was humbly presented by Thammasat University Council<br />
1996 Graduation of the first batch of students<br />

1997 PhD programs in engineering and science were approved by Thammasat University<br />
Council; the first PhD student and first MS student were admitted<br />
1997 Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri <strong>Sirindhorn</strong> graciously presided over the<br />
inauguration of the Institute's new name "<strong>Sirindhorn</strong> <strong>International</strong> Institute of Technology"<br />
1998 The Federation of Thai Industries and Keidanren jointly dedicated the Advanced Laboratory<br />
Building to <strong>SIIT</strong> on October 6, 1998<br />
1999 Inauguration of the <strong>SIIT</strong> Advanced Laboratory Building was presided over by Mr. Paron<br />
Israsena, Former Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries<br />
1999 The Federation of Thai Industries signed an agreement with Bangkadi Industrial Park to<br />
provide approximately 6 rai of land and a building for <strong>SIIT</strong> expansion<br />

inauguration of the Sirindhralai Building of <strong>SIIT</strong> at Bangkadi on June 28, <strong>2006</strong>.<br />
