It is the aim of Contour Homes to provide each applicant with
as much information needed in order to make the right choice
of scheme for themselves and their family’s needs.
Contour Homes’ aim is to maintain their properties and
communities to a high standard. We regularly carry out
maintenance and other services to all including:
• 24 hour repair line for emergency repairs
• Gas checks are conducted on each property on a 12
monthly basis
• External decoration is inspected and completed on a
rolling cycle
• Scheme inspection twice per year
• Dedicated antisocial behaviour 24 hour phone line
Some schemes also provide further services which come with
an additional charge, for example, communal cleaning,
window cleaning and gardening. Your local housing office can
advise you if the schemes you have chosen carry a charge for
these additional services.
Below are a list of frequently asked questions and answers and
a list of schemes in the local authority area you have requested,
with a brief description to help you with your choices:
Q: How long will I have to wait
A: Waiting times do vary from area to area, this will depend on
the demand for the schemes you have chosen. An estimated
time on the waiting list is provided on the stock list. Contour
Homes also operates a date order system within bands when
allocating properties.
Q: What types of properties are available
A: Again this will vary from scheme to scheme but Contour
Homes have a wide choice of 1 & 2 bedroom flats and
2, 3 & 4 bedroom houses.
Q: Can I keep a pet
A: Not in all properties. This would depend on whether you are
allocated a home with its own entrance or not. In some flats
(especially blocks) pets such as cats and dogs are not
permitted as you share this entrance with other residents.
ALL pet owners must have prior permission of the Landlord
in writing.
Thank you for applying for accommodation with Contour Homes.
If you have queries filling in your application please contact us
on 0345 602 1120.
Q: What are the local services
A: Local services will differ from scheme to scheme. These are
extra services that Contour Homes offer such as window
cleaning, communal cleaning and gardening that may not
be offered on all schemes.
Q: Are your properties Right to Buy or Right to
Acquire properties
A: This would be dependant on the property, when it was built
and what funding was used.
Right to Buy: This is property transferred under a stock
transfer agreement with the local authority and the housing
association. If the tenant is an existing tenant at the time of the
transfer then the tenant will have “preserved rights to buy.”
Right to Acquire: This is stock that has been “acquired” or
“built” after April 1st 1997.
