“USER FEE BUS PROGRAM 2012- 2013”
Dear Parent/Guardian:
The Dedham Public Schools offers a fee-based transportation program to students in grades 1-6
who reside less than two (2.0) miles from their school and for all students in grades 7-12.
Only students in grades 1-6 who live more than two (2.0) miles walking distance from their
neighborhood school are entitled to Town paid transportation. Town paid transportation is based
solely on the student’s home address and is only for transportation between the student’s home
bus stop and the school he/she attends.
Distances to determine eligibility to ride the bus at no charge are measured by using the shortest
route from the public way in front of a student’s home to the nearest entranceway of the school
property.
Students in Kindergarten will ride free of charge.
The amount set for “User Fees” was established by the School Committee. The School
Committee may adjust the “User Fees” depending upon participation. You will be notified
of any changes, as soon as possible.
Please Note: It is mandatory that students grade K-2 be met at the bus stop
by a parent or guardian

THE FEE IS NON-REFUNDABLE.
THE “USER FEE” COST PER STUDENT IS $210.00 WITH A $600.00 CAP PER FAMILY
