2012/13 PARISH PLANNED GIVING ENVELOPES:
There STILL remains Parish Planned Giving Envelope box sets as yet uncollected for
the new Financial Year starting today. If you have not already taken your Box, please,
remember to collect your Box after Mass.
TAX DEDUCTIBILY: Receipts will only be issued for those who mark the box on
the envelopes where indicated correctly, this must be done due to changes in Tax
Department Regulations for Trust Accounts. Envelope Contributors are now required
to advise if they require a Tax Deduction or NOT for their contributions.
If you do not tick the Box where indicated on the bottom right hand side of
your envelope, from this week-end until the week-end of 14/15 July, it must be
assumed you do not wish to claim and therefore, YOU CANNOT CLAIM A
TAX DEDUCTION for the 2012/2013 Financial Year.
Should you NOT tick the box and then change your mind during the year to claim a
Tax Deduction, you can only claim a Tax Deduction from the time the change of
nomination request has been processed (into the computer). All such requests are to
be in writing, clearly stating the full name of the contributor, envelope number and
stating that your intent is to either request Tax Deductibility status or to have it
changed to NON Tax Deductible and must be signed by the contributor. THERE
CAN BE NO BACK DATING OF THESE REQUESTS. Due to the changes
made by the Taxation Office, the Parish must comply by the new Regulations for a
Charitable Organisation or we could lose our status for Tax Deductibility. If you
wish, or think you may wish, to claim a Tax Deduction for your Planned Giving
Envelopes, please tick the box over the next three week-ends. After July, you will
not be required to do so again once it has been registered in the Parish computer.
Remember, if you DO NOT tick the box NOW you cannot claim for back dated
donations.
TAX RECEIPTS FOR LAST FINANCIAL YEAR (2011/2012) will be available
early July. Those who contributed to our Lenten Project Pacific Mission 2012
Appeal during Lent will notice their donation on the official Parish Receipt as being
classified as a NON TAX DEDUCTION, and a separate Receipt has been issued for
Project Pacific Missions which is for Tax Deduction purposes.
Please be aware, you cannot claim twice.
