PRAYER VIGIL FOR LIFE. St. Charles Borromeo, Charleston,
will host the April 16 th Prayer Vigil for Life. Fr. John Titus, pastor
will be celebrant of the 6:30 P.M. Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
Praying the rosary begins at 6:00 P.M. The 7:30 business
meeting will be conducted in the parish center. Everyone is
urged to join us in prayer for an end to abortion.
EASTER DUTY: Sunday, June 3 rd , is the Feast of the Most Holy
Trinity. All Catholics are enjoined by a precept of the Church to
receive Holy Communion between the First Sunday of Lent &
Trinity Sunday.

week. Thanks to everyone who remembered us in thoughts,

THE BLESSED SACRAMENT THIS WEEK!
DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY: In His revelations to St. Maria
Faustina Kowalska, Jesus made mention of His desires
concerning the Feast of Mercy (Divine Mercy Sunday) on 14
different occasions. The most comprehensive revelation can
be found in entry 699 of the Diary of St. Faustina Kowalska:
“My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable
mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter
for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the
very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole
ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of
My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy
Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and
punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through
which graces flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to
Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great
that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it
throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has come forth
from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in
its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy
throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very
depths of tenderness. It is my desire that it be solemnly
celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not
have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy.”
For those wishing to partake in Our Lord’s mercy the
Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered from 2:00 to 2:50
P.M. in St. Michael Church with the recitation of the Chaplet of
Divine Mercy and veneration of the image at 3:00 P.M. this
Sunday, April 15 th .
STEWARDSHIP CORNER. Every one of us is talented in
some way. Stewardship encourages us to use any talent we
have to benefit an individual, the Church, or the community.
SALAD SUPPER. St. Mary’s Council of Catholic Women,
Neoga, Illinois is hosting a SALAD SUPPER on Tuesday,
April 17, 2012 beginning at 6:00 P.M. Ladies from all our four
parishes are invited to join us for some food, fun, and
entertainment. All our quests are asked to bring their appetite
and four quarters to play a game. Ladies from St. Mary’s
Neoga, we ask that you please bring a salad or dessert to
serve approximately 8 to 10 people. A sign up sheet is posted
in all four churches. Please come and join some fellowship
within our four parishes.

GUN RAFFLE - Sigel Sesquicentennial Fundraiser.
Each monthly winner has their choice of a gun or $400 cash
prize. Donation $20 a ticket for 12 chances. All winning tickets
will be re-entered. Drawing to be held at 8:00 P.M. on the First
Friday of the month at the Kazbar starting May 2012. Proceeds
will cover expenses associated with the Sigel Sesquicentennial
Celebration. Surplus funds will be donated to the Park. Tickets
are available at Sigel Bank, Krampe’s Café, Jansen Bros.

ST. ANTHONY PARISH’S ALL CHOIRS will present a concert
on Wednesday, April 25 at 7:00 P.M. in the church. All are
welcome to enjoy the talented voices and musicians of St.
Anthony’s music ministry which include the Adult Choir, Men’s

COMMUNITY EVENT. The Teutopolis K of C Hall serves
quarter fried chicken and toast every Friday evening from 5:30
to 7:30 P.M.
VIVA ITALIA PILGRIMAGE, SEPTEMBER 8-20, 2012: Join
Fr. Al Kemme, the pastor of St. Thomas and St. Mary
Churches, Newton and Ste. Marie for an unforgettable
pilgrimage to Rome. The 12 day trip will include overnight
stays in Rome, Assisi, Venice, and Florence in upscale hotels.
The group will have their own private Masses & tour guide, a
Papal audience, a day through the Italian wine country and
gondola ride in Venice, plus much more. The cost of the trip
will be $3,750 per person, based on double occupancy and
includes all parts of the trip with two (2) meals a day. It does
not include personal expenses, lunch, and various tips.

TEUTOPOLIS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM will have a can drive
to raise money for their team on May 5th from 8:00 am to
noon. Cans can be dropped off at the THS gym parking lot. A
trailer and truck will be available. Some of the proceeds will go
to Tim Bower, our assistant coach, for the medical bills for his
daughter.
PIG-OUT BREAKFAST. Sacred Heart, Effingham PTA will
host a Pig-out breakfast on Sunday, April 22 serving from 7:00
A.M. until 12:00 noon. Menu: whole hog sausage, biscuits &
gravy, eggs, pancakes, fruit, rolls, bread, and juice.

St. Mary Help of Christians, Green Creek: As of April 3,
2012, 85 contributors (51.53%) of 163 parishioners have
pledged $6,815 (59.79%) towards our goal of $11,399.00
leaving a balance due of $4,584. Since our last update of
February 9, 2012, we thank the following parishioner for their

Sacred Heart, Lillyville: As of April 3, 2012, 64 contributors
(59.26%) of 108 parishioners have pledged $4,335 (76.73%)
towards our goal of $5,650 leaving a balance due of $1,315.
Since our last update of February 9, 2012, there has been no

St. Mary of the Assumption, Neoga: As of April 3, 2012, 64
contributors (36.67%) of 150 parishioners have pledged
$6,085 (55.35%) towards our goal of $10,994 leaving a
balance due of $4,909. Since our last update of February 9,
2012, there has been no donation received.
St. Michael the Archangel: As of April 3, 2012, 126
contributors (37.39%) of 337 parishioners have pledged
$15,540 (97.28%) towards our goal of $15,924 leaving a
balance due of $384. Since our last update of February 9,
2012, there has been no donation received.

Responsibilities for the month include: regular church cleaning,
refreshments for the Thursday, April 12 th meeting, Coffee &
Donuts for the First Communion and Confirmation celebration on
Sunday, April 29 th following the 8:00 A.M. Mass and attending and
helping with the Four Parish Salad Supper on Tuesday, April 17 th .
FATHER JIM HARTKE SCHOLARSHIP. St. Mary’s Knights of
Columbus will be giving two $200 scholarships to any senior
planning to continue their education after high school. They must
be a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish. Please
submit a letter outlining the following: School, church, community
activities, career goals, and general information about yourself
and your family. Do not put your name on the letter. Attach a
cover page with your name and address. Please submit your letter
before May 6, 2012 to Steve Doty, 251 County Road 600 N,
Neoga, IL 62447. Scholarships will be presented on May 20,
2012 at the Graduation Mass.

THE INTERNATIONAL PILGRIM VIRGIN STATUE OF OUR
LADY OF FATIMA, also known as the “Weeping Madonna”,
will visit Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, April 28, and
Sunday, April 29. The statue will be escorted in during the
Saturday evening Mass at 4:00P.M. and will remain for quiet
veneration until 7:00 P.M. that evening. The statue will also be
present during the 8:30 A.M. & 10:30 A.M. Mass on Sunday,
April 29. The custodian of the statue will speak briefly at the
conclusion of Mass and will be available for questions in the
back of church. Pictures of the Fatima statue will be made
available for purchase. This is the world-famous statue that
was sculpted in 1947 by Jose Thedim, according to the
description of Sr. Lucia, one of the children who saw the
Blessed Mother at Fatima. The miracles, favors, and graces
that accompany the statue were so numerous from the very
beginning that even Pope Pius XII reflected,” . . . The miracles
