A Haitian girl living in a
tent city in Place Boyer,
Petionville, a suburb of
Port-au-Prince.
The PULSE Volunteer Partnership is a new
initiative from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) allowing its
employees the opportunity to address a clear
need at a nonprofit organization while developing
their own leadership capabilities and healthcare
understanding.
Since 2009, 16 PULSE volunteers have brought their expertise
to Direct Relief in areas such as logistics, supply chain management,
marketing, and research and development. The volunteers
have helped improve Direct Relief capacities—such as cold-chain
delivery to Haiti—and increase efficiencies, leveraging our ability
to serve more people.
