Multiple Nutrient Blends
Tailored for Sensitive Crops
Ideal Starter Fertilizers
Custom Blends Available
The SpringSTART® products offer a family of low salt, chloride free
fertilizers designed primarily to assist your crop in getting off to a strong
healthy start and to assist in lifting yield and quality. Healthy seedlings are
also more able to resist adverse weather conditions, disease and insect
pressure.
These products can be banded into the soil 2 – 5 cm below the seed /
seedling at or around the time of planting. SpringSTART® products are
also suitable for fertigation application with irrigation water through drip,
under-tree and overhead sprinklers.
SpringSTART® fertilizers can be used on a wide range of agricultural,
horticultural and amenity horticultural applications.
Recommended crops include: cereal crops (wheat, barley, triticale and
canola) and row crops (vegetables, herbs and corn/maize).
These products may also be
applied, using fertigation and
directed soil sprays to crops
such as deciduous fruit and
nut trees (apples, pears, stone
fruit, almonds, etc), grapes,
olives, citrus and vine crops
to supplement plant nutrient
requirements.
SpringSTART® Benefits
SpringSTART® products have a low salt index, reducing the chance
of seedling fertilizer burn when placed in close proximity to the seed /
seedling.
SpringSTART® products containing potassium are blended with chloride
free potassium sources to further ensure the safety of seedlings and the
wider environment.
Low soil temperature may contribute to the tying up of valuable soil
nutrients. Placing SpringSTART® products close to the seed / seedling at
planting time provides young roots with an immediate source of water
soluble nutrients.
SpringSTART® products are consistently high quality uniform blends with
the same analysis in every drop. This uniformity assists in achieving even
spatial distribution of applied nutrients to your crop.
These products have been filtered to enable easy pumping and application
without the hassle of dry granular fertilizer products being present (dusty,
setting hard, absorbing moisture, blocking equipment etc).
Nutrients are in 100% water soluble plant available forms. Soluble nutrients
provide hassle free injection (no insoluble blockages) and rapid plant
uptake.
Trace elements are chelated, where required, for efficient plant uptake.
Extensive Range of NPK Blends & Trace
Pasture and Horticulture
Custom Blends Available
The Green and Gro® range of fluid fertilizers are concentrated
nutrient solutions that offer farmers convenience and efficiency in
managing the nutrition of their soils and crops. These products are
tailor made by our technical and operational team from a range
of ingredients in combination with some organic and biological
additives.
A number of these products are primarily designed for application
in broadacre situations, and with irrigation water through drip,
under-tree sprinklers and overhead systems in horticulture. They can
also be applied to the soil as a directed spray or injected as a band
into the soil via direct drill systems for broadacre agriculture as well
as specific foliar applications in horticultural crops.
Green and Gro® fertilizers can be used on a wide range of crops
including cereals, pasture, deciduous fruit and nut trees, wine
and table grapes, olives, citrus, berry fruit and row crops such as
vegetables, tomatoes and corn.
Green and Gro Benefits
6
Nutrients are in 100% water soluble plant available
forms. Soluble nutrients provide hassle free injection (no
insoluble blockages) and rapid plant uptake.
Products that contain trace elements are chelated where
required for efficient plant uptake.
Decreases the number of field passes required to apply
plant nutrients resulting in reduced fuel costs, machinery
wear and tear and labour costs.
The time and hassle of on farm dissolving of solid
fertilizers is eliminated. Labour can be used more
efficiently. Manual handling issues are reduced and there
is no need to deal with solid fertilizer that has set hard.
These products are filtered to enable easy pumping and
application without the hassle of dry granular fertilizer
products being present (dusty, setting hard, absorbing
moisture, blocking equipment etc).
Nutrient applications can be tailored to more closely
match crop nutrient demand, with small amounts of
nutrients being applied more frequently rather than a
large single application (a little and often).
An extensive range of nutrient ratios are available within
the Green and Gro® product range to account for the
different nutrient demands in relation to the stage of crop
growth (e.g. higher proportions of nitrogen & phosphorus
early in the life of the crop and increased focus on
potassium in the latter stages of growth).
Green and Gro® products offer consistent uniform blends
which are not subject to segregation issues associated
with solid fertilizer products. This assists in achieving an
even spatial distribution of applied nutrients to your crops.
Green and Gro® products contain multiple nutrients, thus
reducing the possibility of human error when farm staff
are required to mix straight fertilizer products.
The Green and Gro® product range uses chloride free
sources of potassium, helping reduce the amount of
chloride applied to farming soils. This is important because
chloride;
- Contributes to salinity, soil structural problems, crop
stress and the destruction of soil biology essential
for healthy soils.
- Can accumulate in harmful concentrations in the soil
from a number of sources including rising water
tables, poor quality irrigation water and potassium
chloride fertilizers.

pressure hose if possible to spray resulting cleaning solution inside the tank. Ensure all surface areas in the tank
are rinsed. Or alternatively fill the tank with Fert Tank Cleaner and water in a 1:25 ratio.
Allow 2-3 hours to soak, then wash or rinse twice more with Fert Tank Cleaner and rinse with clean water.
TRIPLE WASHING TANK HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AS A MINIMUM.
< 1.0
Drip Line Cleaner is recommended to be injected into irrigation systems at a 0.6% concentration in treated water
to assist with chemical clogging prevention / treatment and root intrusion treatment. The treated water pH
to assist with chemical clogging prevention should be between pH 2.5 to 5.0 and for root intrusion treatment
between pH 2.0 and 2.5.
To determine dosing rate of SLTEC Drip Line Cleaner a titration test is recommended to determine the specific
injection levels based on irrigation water and site specific conditions. For more information on titration
procedures contact SLTEC Fertilizers Technical Services on 1800 768 224.
Providing a Biological Balance to
Soil Fertility & Health
Dedicated to Achieving Sustainable Outcomes
Organic and Renewable Components
Sustain & Gro® products have a beneficial role in a wide range of situations and
applications (e.g. crops, pasture, turf, gardens etc). They provide both nutrients and
organic stimulants suitable for enhancing beneficial plant and soil microbiology
(bacteria, fungi, protozoa etc).
Sustain & Gro® products are recommended for use in combination with the
implementation of sustainable principles and best practice.
Several of these products contain organic materials that will stimulate enhanced
microbial activity, however there is no substitute for land management practices that
directly raise organic carbon levels (e.g. cover crops, mulches, composted manures).
Organic matter fuels the soil food web and needs to be carefully maintained to provide
the basis for healthy and sustainable soils.
Sustain & Gro® products should be utilized strategically “in combination” with the
above practices and informed agronomy advice, to deliver sustainable outcomes for
landholders.
These products may be applied in combination with selected SpringSTART®, Green and
Gro® and Spray NPK® products. Check compatibility via the SLTEC Website (www.sltec.
com.au) or by contacting our office or our authorised dealer distributors.
Sustain & Gro® products can be applied using fertigation, directed soil sprays, via
injection through tyned implements or as foliar sprays (for selected products).
Our Journey with Sustain & Gro® So Far…
Since the green revolution (post World War II)
agriculture has benefited from many advances in
chemical technologies and derived ingredients.
Agricultural soils have been enriched chemically
with industrial fertilizers and pesticides and
productivity has increased. However with increased
chemical inputs, the biological health (e.g. the Soil
Food Web) and natural balance of these soils has in
many cases declined.
18

Organic Ingredients: Inputs are sourced from renewable and sustainable resources
that have an organic origin.
Renewable: products derived from recycled materials and ingredients. A natural
resource qualifies as a renewable resource if it is replenished by natural processes at
a rate comparable or faster than its rate of consumption, hence being replenished
within a reasonable amount of time.
Sustainable Inputs: Inputs that maintain and/or enhance the sustainability of
production and living systems.
Sustainable Agricultural Production: Practices that maintain or improve;
• productivity and economic viability
• the natural resource base and
• the impact agriculture has on other ecosystems.
Sustainable soils have a balance of chemical, microbial and physical properties.
Our operational practices can impact on this natural balance either positively or
negatively.
Production systems with a sterile environment, void from beneficial soil and
plant biology, remain vulnerable to disease and insect pressure. They are lacking
in many of the non chemical attributes important for sustainable production.
Given that most fertilizer and soil amendment inputs used today are derived
predominately from industrial chemical processes, we are developing and
expanding the Sustain & Gro® product range to provide credible softer
alternatives.
Sustain & Gro® products are designed to stimulate soil biology and improve
soil structure.
Our development of Sustain & Gro® products has only just begun.
In the future we aim to deliver a range of renewable, sustainable and in some
cases organically certified inputs.
Bio Kelp
Bio Kelp is a liquid seaweed concentrate that contains a
wide range of naturally occurring plant nutrients and trace
minerals essential to plant growth, health and productivity.
Kelp contains concentrations of plant hormones (e.g.
auxins, cytokinins) which stimulate biological activity in
soils (particularly Actinomycetes bacteria and cellulose
utilizers).
This product consists of naturally occurring chelated trace
minerals which are more readily available for plant uptake
than minerals supplied in an inorganic form. Bio Kelp acts
as a nutritional supplement which releases nutrients as it
breaks down and contains chelating carbohydrates such
as alginic acid and mannitol and is an excellent source of
organic matter.
Benefits:
• Contains organic matter with soil conditioning properties
• Enhances soil fertility and productivity
• Enhances plant and root growth and development
• Organic matter in the soil, and the associated soil
microflora, bacteria and fungi, play an important role in
soil fertility and plant nutrient uptake.
• Stimulates microbial activity
• Enhances and building soil structure
• The organic matter contained in this product
enhances nutrient retention and reduces leaching
Fish Emulsion
Fish Emulsion is sourced from ocean fish. Fish emulsion is a
natural organically based product that stimulates microbial
activity in the soil. It provides a broad spectrum range of
micro and macro nutrients, trace elements, vitamins.
Benefits:
• Contains organic matter with soil conditioning properties
• Promotes beneficial soil biology (bacteria and yeasts etc)
• Provides a readily available source of organic nitrogen
• Stimulates nitrogen cycling and enhancing the carbon to
nitrogen (C:N) ratio of soils
• Can be applied as a foliar or to the soil via directed spray
or fertigation
• Stimulates plant root development
Molasses
Molasses is a by-product from the production of sugar.
Molasses stimulates microbial activity, stimulates plant root
development and can assist in improving soil structure
and with the amelioration of soils
high in sodium (sodic soils).
Benefits:
• Promotes beneficial soil biology (yeasts and lactic acid
bacteria etc)
• Source of metabolisable carbon and energy for soil
biology
• Assists in improving soil structure
• Aids in the management of sodic dispersive soils
• Stimulates plant root development
Potassium Humate
Potassium humate is a concentrated soil microbial
and plant stimulant available in 20% or 26% (w/v)
concentrations of soluble humate and fulvate (i.e. humic
and fulvic acid). SLTEC’s potassium humate is formulated
from plant derived natural deposits of Leonardite (brown
coal).
Benefits:
• Increases the nutrient holding capacity of the soil (i.e.
improves the soils cation exchange capacity (CEC) as well
as having a positive impact on the soil water holding
capacity)
• Adds organic carbon to the soil
• Can assist in adjusting the Carbon to Nitrogen (C:N) ratio
• Stimulates the development and enhancement of soil
structure through enhanced microbial activity
• Improves the retention and plant uptake of essential
nutrients thereby reducing the loss of applied fertilizers
from leaching and run-off
• Assists in buffering the soil against decreases in soil pH
(acidity) from fertilizer applications
• Stimulates beneficial microbial activity and root growth
• Promotes nutrient uptake by plants in hydroponic
production
• Enhances the incorporation and retention of essential
elements such as calcium throughout the soil profile
20
Fulvic Acid
Fulvic acid is extracted from humus (organic matter) or brown
coal. Fulvic acid has a lower molecular weight than humic
acid and is separated and extracted during the production of
potassium humate products.
Fulvic acids are typically foliar applied and assist in the uptake
of nutrients and some chemicals (non selective herbicides).
They are considered to offer chelating properties, enhancing
the effectiveness of foliar applications of nutrients.
Benefits:
• Enhances uptake efficiency with selected foliar sprays
• Stimulates plant auxin production
• Improves the mobility and translocation of nutrients
• A source of organic carbon stimulating microbial activity
QuadSHOT®
QuadSHOT® contains a
carefully selected range of QuadSHOT
organic additives and biological
stimulants. These ingredients
stimulate soil biological activity, thereby improving the cycling
and availability of plant nutrients and soil fertility and health.
Together with management practices that enhance organic
matter and soil structure development, this product assists
in mobilizing available nutrients and improving plant uptake
efficiencies.
Benefits:
• It contains humic acid, fulvic acid, kelp, fish emulsion and
sugars to stimulate microbial activity
• Assists in improving management of saline and sodic soils
• Assists in improving the moisture holding capacity of soils
• Enhances nutrient cycling and availability
• Enhances soil cation exchange capacity (CEC)
• Can be mixed and blended with other SLTEC products -
check with SLTEC on specific compatibilities
BiologiCAL® PLUS
Supplying calcium to crops
and plants is a major challenge
in both agricultural and
horticultural situations.
PLUS
Plants require calcium in relatively large amounts for many
functions including cell division, elongation and development,
root system and leaf development, fruit and seed development
etc. Calcium is also an essential element required for healthy
soils, influencing both the physical, chemical and biological
aspects of the soil.
Clearly lime and gypsum offer cost effective sources of calcium
to assist in the amelioration of soils over the longer term.
However, supplying activated plant available calcium to soils
and for plant uptake is a significant challenge.
BiologiCAL® PLUS has been specifically formulated to
provide a highly available and activated calcium source that is
complimented with potassium and our QuadSHOT® biological
stimulant.
Benefits:
• A cost effective 100% plant available source of calcium
• Free of chlorides and nitrates
• Activated calcium in a unique form that stimulates plant
uptake
• Can be applied to soil and as a foliar application
• Can be mixed with other SLTEC products such as UAN and
improves ammonium absorption by plants - check with SLTEC
on specific compatibilities
• Displaces sodium (reduces sodicity) and magnesium
(magnesic soils) from soils
• Assists the improvement of moisture penetration / infiltration
• Improves soil structure and friability
• Stimulates soil microbial activity and enhances soil fertility
and health, enhancing a balance of health biology
• Improves plant resistance to disease
• Stimulates plant vigour and increases the uptake of other
essential nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium etc)
• Enhances shelf life characteristics of vegetable and fruit crops
Taking a longer term view of nutrition
Nutrition decisions in horticulture and many broadacre
cropping situations require a balanced longer term view of
historical practices, yields, soil and plant tissue trends.
Reactive decisions often waste money, deliver undesired
impacts on vigour and quality and lead to unnecessary
environmental losses.
FERTIGATION TANKS & ACCESSORIES
SLTEC Liquid Fertilizer Storage Options
Liquid fertilizer use is growing across Australia at an
unprecedented rate due to the costs and inefficiencies in using
traditional dry granular fertilizers. SLTEC fluid fertilizers provide
an efficient and cost effective nutrient delivery system for broad
acre cereal, pasture, horticulture, turf and amenity horticulture.
These products are typically applied via a directed soil spray, and
injection system (below and beside the seed), as a foliar spray or
fertigation application.
Fertigation involves the process of injecting dissolved nutrients
into an irrigation system. The irrigation system then provides the
delivery mechanism to distribute liquid nutrients to the crop.
How fluid fertilizers are stored, handled and utilized on farm
can impact on their effectiveness, the crop response achieved,
and the overall efficiency of the application. Inefficient, poor
designed or maintained fertigation and irrigation systems can
pose significant environmental and occupational hazards.
Well designed liquid fertilizer storage and injection systems are
essential to ensuring your SLTEC products are effectively utilized
for crop and production outcomes in a manner that ensures your
workforce safety and to minimize environmental impacts.
Stored in appropriately designed and fit for purpose facilities,
liquid fertilizer presents a safe and sustainable alternative to
conventional fertilizer management practices.
However, the use of rain water tanks, the lack of bunding,
leaking pipe work and inefficient injection systems, the use of
domestic ladders to inspect tanks etc can create unacceptable
and completely unnecessary risks for workers and the general
environment.
The team at SLTEC have conducted extensive research into
on farm storage and handling systems and can help you to
implement your liquid nutritional program.
SLTEC provide a range of integrated solutions and services to
assist farmers get the best results from our products.
Soil Auger
Hydrometers
30
• The SLTEC Soil Auger is suited to both clay, sandy loam and loam soil types.
• It has a auger blade system that enables easy removal of soil.
• This auger is designed to enable soil sampling of soils to a depth of 1 m.
• The handle is removable and extension poles are available
(sold separately) to enable deeper soil augering.
• Well suited for dairy, cereal, turf, horticultural soil sampling situations.
As part of SLTEC’s commitment
to developing high quality liquid
formulations, our team have worked with
a manufacturer of specialty laboratory
equipment to develop an accurate
hydrometer suited for fluid fertilizers.
We also have 100 mL volumetric flasks
available so you can test the quality and
purity of fluid fertilizers, from SLTEC and
others, yourself.
Why would we be providing hydrometers you ask
Well, given the substantial effort we put
into developing and manufacturing our
products, we want you to rest assured that
our products are true to label and value
for money. As with most things, you get
what you pay for.
As you may be aware, fluid fertilizers
weigh more than water. On all SLTEC
product labels and in our Product
Advisories we detail the specific gravity
for each product. Specific gravity is a
useful quick reference tool you can use to
check the quality and purity of liquids and
ensure you are getting what you require.
For example the specific gravity for water
is 1.00 kg/L w/v. This means that 1 litre of
water weighs 1.00 kg, or 1,000 L weighs
1,000 kg. Compare this to SS 11:16:0 which
has a specific gravity of 1.29 kg/L w/v. This
means that 1 litre of this product weighs
1.29 kg, or 1,000 L weighs 1,290 kg.
Note: Hydrometers and Volumetric flasks are available
through all SLTEC Dealers.

6 Month Return Credit Policy
All IBCs need to be returned to us within 6 months
from the date of dispatch from a SLTEC depot or
manufacturing facility to validate any deposit credit.
There are many reasons for the 6 months
return policy, several of these include;
IBCs need regular maintenance, returning them
within 6 months ensures that the necessary safety
maintenance procedures are carried out in a timely
manner IBCs have a limited life and SLTEC needs to
ensure that aging IBCs are retired appropriately.
