NEW CHAPLAIN AT ST. PAUL’S CHURCH - AHMADI
Rev. Harrison Chinnakumar will be the new Chaplain with effect from 13 th April 2012.
The current Chaplain Rev. Tony Jeynes & Family will go back to Cyprus on 12 th April 2012.
Rev. Tony was here only for a very short period.
We take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Rev. Tony Jeynes and family for the
care extended to us.
Meantime, Ahmadi Mar Thoma Parish heartily welcomes Rev. Harrison Chinnakumar and his
family to Kuwait.

FAREWELL TO OUR VICAR, REV. VARGHESE M. THOMAS & FAMILY
As you are all aware, our Vicar, Rev. Varghese M. Thomas is
transferred to another parish in India with effect from 1 st
May 2012. Our Achen could not complete the 3-year period
due to some unexpected and unprecedented problems
arised out of the visa formalities. Kochamma and children
(Joji, Jojo & Feba) joined him in October 2011. They will be
leaving Kuwait by the end of April 2012. A befitting farewell in
honour of our Achen & Family will be given on Wednesday,
25 th April 2012 at St. Paul’s Church – Ahmadi immediately
after the Holy Communion Service. All members are kindly
requested to be present.

MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARY (2011/2012)
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Warm greetings to you all in the precious name of our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ!
St. Paul, the Apostle, described true worship in Romans 12:1-2. "My brothers, because of
God's…………………………is pleasing to Him and is perfect".
This passage describes the manner of true worship: "present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice".
Presenting our bodies means present to God all of ourselves. "By the renewing of your mind",
we should renew our minds daily by cleansing them of the world's "wisdom" and replacing it with true
wisdom that comes from God. We should not worship Him with our emotions. Emotions can be destructive,
out-of-control forces unless they are shaped by a mind saturated in truth (1 Cori.
2:16). Renewal of mind can be achieved only by the Word of God. True worship is God-centered
worship. Jesus tells us that true worshippers will worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). This
means we worship from the heart and the way God has designed. The highest form of praise and worship
is obedience to Him and His Word. To do this, we must know God. Worship is to glorify and
exalt God - to show our loyalty and admiration to our Heavenly Father.
I am extremely proud to be a member of Ahmadi MTC. I firmly believe that I tried to contribute to the
best of my ability for the overall growth of this Parish in one way or the other for the past 25 years. It
is my personal dream that the Parishioners continue to be true worshippers of God by being obedient
to Him and His Word. Let us continue to set an excellent example to other parishes and be a blessing
to this Nation as well as the Mar Thoma Sabha and our native country.
I take this opportunity to express extreme gratefulness to all the parishioners for extending myself and
the 2011/2012 Kaisthana Samithy members your sincere co-operation, assistance and understanding
throughout the year.

FUNCTION CELEBRATING 60 th YEAR OF FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
SERVICE – VALIYA METROPOLITAN VISIT
The Kuwait Center Mar Thoma Joint Fellowship has decided to celebrate 60 th Year
commemorating the first Holy Communion Service held at the Anglican Church –
Ahmadi in the liturgy of Mar Thoma Sabha (in April 1952) by Rev. Philip Oommen (now
H. G. The Most Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom Valiya Metropolitan).
Rev. Philip Ommen was at that time invited as a distinguished guest of Kuwait Oil
Company. It is a matter of great privilege that the function will be conducted jointly by
all the Mar Thoma Parishes in Kuwait under the leadership of Ahmadi Mar Thoma
Parish. By the grace of God, our beloved Valiya Metropolitan, H. G. The Most Rev. Dr.
Philipose Mar Chrysostom has kindly consented to bless this occasion by his esteemed
presence. One of our Bishops will also be present in addition to other distinguished
guests. Mr. A. I. Kurien will serve as the General Convener and Mr. Pradeep V. Thomas
as the Joint Convener of this function.
The commemorative Holy Qurbana is scheduled to be held at the FINTAS HALL on
20 th April 2012 at 09:00 am. Prior to this, a short “LIGHTING THE CANDLE” service
followed by KAUMA will be held at ST. PAUL’S CHURCH – Ahmadi on 20 th April 2012
at 08:00 am. His Grace will light a candle at the Altar which will be taken to the FINTAS
HALL for transferring the light to 60 candles in commemoration of 60 Years. A common
Choir consists of 101 members will also be a part of the programme. All members are
kindly requested to attend this “Lighting The Candle” short service at St. Paul’s Church -
Ahmadi as well as the HOLY COMMUNION Service at the FINTAS HALL.
