Recipe of
the Month!
Bar Ingredients:
½ cup butter, softened
1 ½ cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup (8oz.) sour cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
2 medium ripe bananas,
mashed (about 1 cup)
Frosting Ingredients:
1 package (8oz) cream
cheese, softened
½ cup butter, softened
2 tsp vanilla extract
4 cups confectioners’
sugar
Frosted Banana Bars
Bar Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar in large bowl.
2. Gradually add eggs, sour cream and vanilla.
3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda
and salt.
4. Gradually add to the creamed mixture.
5. Stir in bananas.
6. Spread into a greased 15x10x1inch baking pan
7. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until a
toothpick inserted in center comes out clean
8. Cool before frosting
Frosting Directions:
1. Beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla.
2. Gradually add enough confectioner’s sugar to
achieve desired consistency
3. Frost bars and store in refrigerator
