Located in the Vera Low Center
for Student Enrichment on Bethel’s
McKenzie campus, the Bethel
University Testing Center provides all
types of services to Bethel University
students.
“We have all kinds of students
come to us,” said Sarah Sanders, Director
of Testing and Tutoring Services.
“Some professors use the testing
center to administer make-up tests,
and we also provide in-house testing
for students with disabilities. We have
three low distraction testing rooms

where the student has the best chance
to concentrate and be successful on a
test. “
Sanders said they have even conducted
impact testing for student athletes.
“The results from a student athlete’s
impact test serve as a benchmark
in the event there is concern that he
or she suffered a concussion. “If there
were concern with this, a second test
would be administered to compare to
the results from the first one.
“We also administer exit examinations
for our graduates,” she said.
But Sanders says the entire community
and region can benefit from
Bethel’s testing center.
“You do not have to be a student
to utilize our testing services,” Sanders
said. “We have people come to us
to take all kinds of tests that are often
required for entrance into certain
educational programs.”
According to Sanders, the Bethel
University Testing Center offers the
following tests: the College Level
Evaluation Program (CLEP); the
Miller Analogies Test (MAT), Dantes
Subject Standardized Tests (DSST);
Educational Testing Service tests – the
Praxis and the Test of English as a
Foreign Language (TOEFL); the General
Education Development (GED)
test; and testing offered through Pearson
VUE, which provides a full suite
of services from test development to
data management.
“We had someone just the other
day come from Nashville and take his
Praxis test at our testing center here in
McKenzie simply because we had an
opening to take the test on a day that
was convenient for him,” Sanders said.
“So our reach is even further than the
community and region.”
Sanders said the testing center has
served more than 400 individuals just
since Aug. 1, 2013.
“I think this speaks to the significant
role the Bethel University Testing
Center plays here on our campus and
in the community,” Sanders said.
The hours of the Bethel University
Testing Center are Monday through
Friday 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. To schedule
