HIGH-FUNCTION STYLE.
All important driving information, for example
the next exit road, is projected directly into the
fi eld of view.
Drivers can concentrate fully on the road.
A glance at the speedometer takes longer than you think. At km/h, it adds up to a dangerously
long metres. BMW’s optional Head-Up Display is the answer. It transmits important driving
information, such as your speed, speed limits or navigation indicators, directly into your fi eld
of view. In addition, warnings from BMW Night Vision’s thermal camera – for example, about
pedestrians posing a collision risk – are also displayed so you no longer have to avert your eyes
from the road.
Information is easily seen in high-contrast and colourful images on the windscreen. It all appears
at an approximate two-metre distance at the end of the bonnet and is highly visible in all light
conditions. This ensures greater safety at all times.
The new multifunctional instrument display option is all about focusing on the essentials.
Each of its three adjustable programmes, Comfort, ECO PRO and Sport, has their own visual
appearance in the instrument display and, in this way, continues the long BMW tradition of
optimum driver orientation. The displays give drivers attractive, intuitive and therefore fast
access to the information shown.
In Comfort mode (standard display), for instance, current speed is not only indicated by the
needle, but fi gures are also simultaneously enlarged with a magnifying glass effect. In ECO PRO
mode, the new display is fully geared to optimising fuel consumption with parts of the speedometer
and the rev counter lighting up in a soft blue. Finally, in Sport mode, the display illuminates in a
puristic orange-red and data relevant to sporty driving are the main focus.
ECO PRO mode: in addition to the optimised
displays in Comfort mode, the rev counter also
becomes an effi ciency indicator.
Comfort mode: the instrument displays feature a
new design and highlight essential information.
