SLS CLUBS AND SERVICES<br />

Any gear <strong>and</strong> equipment used by <strong>SLSA</strong> affiliated clubs <strong>and</strong> services for the purposes of frontline surf lifesaving or surf rescue must be endorsed by the national <strong><strong>Life</strong>saving</strong><br />

St<strong>and</strong>ing Committee <strong>and</strong> on the list in this manual.<br />

This is to ensure that members are using equipment is of the highest industry st<strong>and</strong>ard, fulfils operational requirements, <strong>and</strong> is safe to use.<br />

Clubs <strong>and</strong> services using equipment that is not endorsed <strong>and</strong> listed as approved should be aware that they may be susceptible to any possible insurance <strong>and</strong> litigation issues<br />

resulting from an incident.<br />

SUPPLIERS AND MANUFACTURERS<br />

Any new or modified gear <strong>and</strong> equipment that is to be used for frontline lifesaving purposes is to undergo a trial <strong>and</strong> evaluation process.<br />

These trials <strong>and</strong> evaluations are to ensure the equipment is of the highest industry st<strong>and</strong>ard, fulfils operational requirements, <strong>and</strong> is safe to use.<br />

No officer, member, supplier or manufacturer has the authority to change specifications, introduce rescue equipment or modify existing approved rescue equipment<br />

without the written approval of the <strong>SLSA</strong> <strong><strong>Life</strong>saving</strong> St<strong>and</strong>ing Committee.<br />

Suppliers or manufacturers wishing to have their equipment evaluated by <strong>SLSA</strong> should contact the <strong>SLSA</strong> Operations Team or their SLS State/Territory centre directly.<br />
