6.8 A new source of information, Surrey Data Online,
is available on the County Council's website and is
regularly updated. This provides a reliable and up to
date source of data on land use planning and other
related issues. A series of technical reports will report
on specific projects such as housing land availability
and the presentation of survey results.
6.9 All the targets and indicators have been drafted with
reference to indicators and targets contained in other
related documents, including the LTP, RPG9, and the
headline indicators in the Government’s document
Sustainability Counts and The Common Agenda for a
Sustainable Surrey.
Targets
TARGET 1:
90% of new housing will be provided on previously
developed land in urban areas.
TARGET 2:
At least 80% of additional major commercial
development each year will be located within town
centres or at other sites within the urban area which
have good access by public transport, cycling and
walking.
TARGET 3:
80% of employment development will be provided
on land previously used for employment purposes.
TARGET 4:
90% of additional retail development will be provided
in and around town centres.
TARGET 5:
No new development will take place on undeveloped
land at high risk from flooding.
TARGET 5:
All local development frameworks will include the
identification of a framework of urban open land,
open spaces and green corridors, and policies for
their promotion and safeguarding.
