Dr. Leo R. Cullinan, a Board Certified Orthodontist, is celebrating 25 years in private practice in Naples, Florida. His education includes an
Engineering degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University School of
Dentistry and a Master’s of Science degree in Orthodontics from Washington University in St. Louis. Leo held every traditional office in
the Collier County Dental Association, including President in 1998. In 2009 he co-founded the non-profit, Dental Outreach of Collier, Inc.
(DOC) which provides comprehensive dental treatment to the underserved of Collier County while educating Dental Assisting Students
in the resident dental clinic at the Lorenzo Walker Institute of Technology. Leo and his wife, Debbie (of 35years) have two daughters;
Abbie is employed at a national architectural and design firm in Chicago and Kellie recently completed graduate school where she earned
a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the Jacob’s School of Music at Indiana University. Outside interests include reading,
computer technology, running, fishing, traveling, and spending family time.

Dr. Sudhanshu (Sam) Desai was born in India. He received his dental degree BDS in 1986 and a Masters Degree MDS Prosthetics in 1990
from Govt. Dental College, India. Dr. Desai graduated with a DDS Degree from New York University College of Dentistry with honors in
1993. He received his NERB and Florida licences in 1993 and 1995 respectively. Dr. Desai has been practicing dentistry for more than 22
years with special interest in cosmetics, implants and orthodontics. He is past president of Lee County Dental Society and a member of
the following organizations: ADA, FDA, WCDDA, LCDS, Alumni NYU, American Orthodontic Society, Indian Dental Association. Dr. Sam
Desai has been married to Dr. Sandra Desai, DPM for 21 years, they have three lovely daughters, Shivani-16, Shrina-15, Shreeya-13.

Dr. Leonard L. Britten was born in Tampa, FL. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and completed
his dental degree in 1979 from Emory University. He is past president of both the Hillsborough County Dental Research Clinic and the
Hillsborough County Dental Association. He is a fellow in the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists and
the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Britten is a WCDDA and FDA Delegate and has served as a dental examiner for the Florida Board of
Dentistry for 25 years.
He has been married to Paula since 1975 and they have three sons, Matt, Nick and Todd. Other interests include golf, sports, hunting
and fishing.

A native of New Port Richey, Dr. Grassin returned “home” to practice in the Pasco and Hernando communities. Dr. Grassin maintains an
Endodontic private practice in New Port Richey and Spring Hill. He presently resides in Oldsmar with his two daughters.
Dr. Grassin is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Additionally, he completed a General Practice
Residency at the U.S. Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, California and practiced General Dentistry in the U.S. Navy prior to completing his
Endodontics Residency training. Dr. Grassin completed his Endodontics Residency at the VA Medical Center in Long Beach, California.

Dr. Christopher M. Bulnes is a general dentist in Tampa, Florida. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the

Dentistry from Southern Illinois University in Alton, IL. Chris has held every line officer position in the Hillsborough County Dental
Association. Chris has also served on the WCDDA Program Committee since 2004 and served on the FDA Council on Membership from
2005-2012, chairing the council from 2006 -2012. Chris has two children: Christian and Caelyn. Outside interests include golf, long
distance running, triathlons, traveling, coaching his children and spending time with his family.

Dr. Bryan T. Marshall received his DDS from Georgetown University and his MBA from St. Leo University. After graduating from
Georgetown, Dr. Marshall spent four years on active duty with the U.S. Navy before moving to Weeki Wachee, FL. He is a past-president
of the Hernando County Dental Association and the West Coast District Dental Association. He is a member of the FDA audit committee
and serves on the FDA Board of Trustees. He is a delegate to the American Dental Association and serves on the ADA Committee on
Budget and Finance. In addition to his dental activities, Dr. Marshall is a past-president of the WellFlorida Council and former Vice-Chair
of the Hernando County Health Care Board. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He
resides in Weeki Wachee, FL.

Dr. Paul A. Palo graduated B.A. with honors from the University of South Florida in 1986, received his dental degree from the University

Dr. Palo has a private practice in Winter Haven, FL concentrating on comprehensive restorative dentistry since 1991. He was awarded
Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1998 and holds memberships in the following professional organizations: ADA, FDA,
WCDDA, Polk County Dental Assn.(past president), American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, Southeastern
Academy of Prosthodontics and L. D. Pankey Alumni Association. He was also inducted into the American College of Dentists in
October 2010.
Dr. Palo has been married to Bronwyn for 25 years. They have two daughters, Padgell 20 yrs & Peyten 12 yrs. He enjoys duck hunting,
snow skiing and working outdoors.

Dr. Steve Zuknick completed his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Central Florida in 1993 and his dental degree
in 1998 from the University of Florida. He served as the 17th District Representative to the ADA’s Committee on the New Dentist from
2004-2007 and served as an ex-officio member for a year on the ADA’s Council on Access, Prevention and Interprofessional Relations
and Council on Annual Sessions. He served as the Chair for the WCDDA’s Subcouncil on the New Dentist from 2002-2004. He has been
a member of the FDA’s Subcouncil on the New Dentist from 2002-2007 serving as the WCDDA’s representative and then as a liason. He
served as Chairman of the FDA Council on Communications from 2010-2011. He currently serves as an Alternate Trustee to the FDA, as
17th District Representative to the Council on Membership and as an Alternate Delegate to the ADA. He is a member of Omicron Kappa
Upsilon honorary fraternity.
Dr. Zuknick has four children and has practiced dentistry in Brandon since 2000.

The West Coast District Dental Association Fund
A donor advised fund administered through the Florida Dental Health Foundation
Mission Statement: The mission of the West Coast District Dental Association Fund is to generate and direct resources
for charitable and educational oral health programs for the people of the West Coast District in the state of Florida.
The WCDDA Fund’s objectives are to have resources available to:
• Support requests for student aid through grants and reward academic achievement with scholarships thereby
increasing the number of dental hygiene, assistant, and laboratory technician graduates.
• To assist dental programs in recruitment activities and specific needs required to excel in the education of all
students.
• To support the dental health education and prevention of dental diseases to all sectors of the public with a special
focus on Access to Care programs.
• To recognize special requests from all entities of dentistry which enhance and promote the dental profession.
How do I contribute
Public dental education, local programs (ancillary education), scholarships, grants and Project Select are all worthy
components and need continued support at the local level. The WCDDA Fund grows due to support from the membership
of the West Coast District Dental Association. Support comes from individual contributions and money raised by various
WCDDA sponsored activities. Your participation in WCDDA Fund fundraising activities assures growth and longevity of the
fund, provides a charitable outlet, and guarantees success of all events. Other avenues to contribute to the WCDDA Fund will
be made available through direct marketing campaigns, the WCDDA Newsletter, and the WCDDA web site. All contributions
must be clearly marked and designated to the WCDDA Fund. It is advised to contact your tax consultant to determine if your
donation is tax deductible.
All contributions go directly to the WCDDA Fund with the exception of 5% designated to the Florida Dental Health
Foundation to cover administrative costs. Funds distributed will go to local programs and students – “hometown” ventures.
A contributor to the WCDDA Fund knows his/her money is being well spent within the West Coast District and will help to
promote a positive image of dentistry to the public. A contributor can watch their component association’s fund grow and
prosper under sound leadership and see tangible end results.
The WCDDA Fund is focused on becoming a self-sufficient entity of the West Coast District Dental Association by means
of charitable contributions and gifts. The WCDDA Fund will serve as a liaison between the dental community and various
programs geared towards the betterment of dental education and the advancement of dental programs.
