Between 1999 and 2009 the number of Stage Entertainment venues increased from four to 30.

Stage Entertainment consists of over 35 companies that provide a wide range 

of live entertainment to audiences across Europe and in New York. 

Joop van den Ende is one of the 

Netherlands’ most well known cultural 

entrepreneurs. Born in 1942, 

the world of the theatre has always 

been in his blood. In 1998 he decided 

to bring all his theatre activities 

together and founded Stage Entertainment. 

Joop van den Ende is 

now president of the Supervisory 

Board, whilst CEO Henk Kivits is 

responsible for all of the company’s 

activities and results. 

Stage Entertainment’s business 

strategy and continued success 

rely on three activities: operating 

world class venues, producing a 

wide range of leading international 

content, and creating and developing 

new musicals and shows. 

Stage Entertainment spread its 

wings to New York in 1997 and 

Germany in 2000, and followed 

this with rapid expansion to the 

United Kingdom, Spain, Russia, 

France and Italy. Our productions 

now attract approximately 14 million 

visitors each year. Our focus 

on the highest production values 

for our shows is matched only by 

our belief that welcoming staff 

and beautiful theatres are a crucial 

part of a theatregoer’s memory of 

the perfect evening out. 

The company relies on its close 

relationships with some of the 

world’s leading theatre producers

THE NETHERLANDS 

In 1998 Joop van den Ende Theaterproducties 

launched its first musical in the Netherlands 

- Barnum. This was the first chapter of 

an amazing and impressive story; since 

then almost every Dutch person has visited 

a show produced by the company. Every 

theatre season, we offer a variety of theatrical 

experiences; two or three open-end productions 

in our own theatres; larger and 

smaller touring musical productions, or a 

production that runs for a longer period, in a 

larger theatre; short runs of appealing international 

productions and productions of our 

own, such as Cyrano, 3 Musketeers and the 

new musical Ciske de Rat. In addition, the 

Dutch branch runs two open end theatres in 

Scheveningen and Utrecht as well as a convention 

complex in Amsterdam and Aalsmeer. 

A third open end theatre will be built in 

Amsterdam. The Dutch organization is also 

responsible for our activities in Belgium.

Germany is the third largest musical market 

in the world. Stage Entertainment currently 

plays ten theatres in Germany and is 

producing renowned shows such as Disney’s

Stage Entertainment has been active in New York since 1997, as 

producer of Tony Award winning shows as 42nd Street, Into the 

Woods and Urinetown. In line with the company’s strategy, Stage 

Entertainment works out of and runs the award winning Off-Broadway

known as New World Stages. The US office is Stage Entertainment’s

SPAIN 

In recent years Madrid has built a strong

FRANCE 

The successful eighteen-month run of Cabaret, 

Stage Entertainment France’s first 

musical in Paris, demonstrated that French 

audiences appreciate top-quality international 

productions. In 2005 Stage Entertainment 

acquired the Théâtre Mogador. 

The French division has continued its success 

with Disney’s The Lion King (Le Roi 

Lion) which opened in October 2007 in the 

completely renovated Théâtre Mogador,

Stage Entertainment Germany’s headquarters are situated in the 

historic Hamburg Warehouse district. The company shares the 

building with the Stage Entertainment Studios complex, which 

comprises fourteen modern and well-equipped rehearsal studios. 

The studios are the home of the Joop van den Ende Academy and 

provide an ideal environment for nurturing and developing young 

talent. Students receive tuition in all aspects of the performing arts.

Over the years, Stage Entertainment has built strong partnerships 

with some of the world’s leading theatre producers. 

Working together with these licensors, we have successfully 

presented local language productions in our theatres across 

Europe of some of the most successful musicals ever created. 

As one of Europe’s leading theatre production companies, 

we also have ambitions to continue developing and presenting 

our own musical titles, using Stage Entertainment’s extensive 

knowledge and experience of the countries in which 

we operate. 

In 2007 we presented Ciske de Rat (in the Netherlands) and 

Ich war noch niemals in New York (in Germany). Both productions 

received rave reviews and have been sold out 

since opening. Ich will Spass! and Der Schuh des Manitu 

both opened in Germany in the fall of 2008. 

In 2010, the musical Petticoat will be presented in the Netherlands. 

Meanwhile Stage Entertainment UK has developed 

Sister Act, a co-production with Whoopi Goldberg, which 

opened at the famous Palladium Theatre in London in spring 

2009. 

For creative development Stage Entertainment has chosen 

to work with Cook a Dream, the creative company.

modern and contemporary international

The Circustheater and Beatrix Theater in 

the Netherlands, the Théâtre Mogador in 

Paris and Stage Entertainment’s theatres

works from this private collection in 

conjunction with the musical they present 

to their local audiences.

theatre production in 1970; his international 

productions date from the early 1990s.

In most countries where we operate the 

company has established its own casting

Over the last couple of years, the group has 

created new productions for our leading 

markets. Productions have included Ich war 

noch niemals in New York, a musical featuring 

the hits of the legendary German singer Udo 

Jürgens, Ciske de Rat, Ich will Spass!, Der 

Schuh des Manitu, Sister Act and Petticoat.

The stage version of The Lion King, directed by Julie Taymor, opened on 

Broadway in 1997 and with a raft of rave reviews it became an instant hit 

with audiences. The enchanting tale of Simba the lion cub won a slew of 

awards and sold out in New York, London, Sydney and Melbourne. In 

2001, history repeated itself when Der König der Löwen opened at the 

Theater im Hafen in Hamburg’s harbour district with a record breaking one 

million tickets sold in just fifteen months. The production’s success has also been fundamental in establishing 

Hamburg as the musical capital of Germany. Seven years on and Der König der Löwen continues 

to sell out at every single performance. 

In 2004, Stage Entertainment opened a second production in the Netherlands, followed in October 2007 

by a third production at the newly refurbished Théâtre Mogador in Paris. Le Roi Lion won three Molière 

Awards, including Best Musical, in April 2008.

Ich war noch niemals in New York (I have never been to New York) is an original 

new musical created specifically for the German market by Creative 

Development, the development company of Stage Entertainment, together 

with the German production team. 

The show features songs by Udo Jürgens, one of Germany’s most popular 

singers, with over 100 hits to his name. To say he is a household name is an understatement. 

Twenty-three of his songs are woven into a fun, contemporary story about Lisa, a woman forced to take 

time out from her busy career to look for her errant mother who has disappeared from a nursing home. 

Needless to say, when Lisa’s search leads her to a cruise ship bound for New York, there are more than 

a few surprises in store. This large scale production was greeted by a fifteen minute standing ovation at 

opening night and it has continued to play to packed houses since then.

Timeless songs such as Dancing Queen, I Have a Dream and Voulez-Vous 

are cleverly woven into an enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship. 

On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her 

father brings three men from her mother's past back to the Greek island 

they last visited 20 years ago. 

Mamma Mia! was an instant box office sensation when it opened first in London and then New York and it 

continues to break record after record across the world. Stage Entertainment presented the first foreign 

language production in Germany followed by productions in The Netherlands, Spain, Belgium and Russia, 

where the show clocked up 650 performances making it the longest running musical in Russian history.

“It was the summer of ’63, everybody called me Baby and for some 

reason I liked it…” 

In March 2006, the much anticipated stage version of Dirty Dancing celebrated 

its European premiere at the Theater Neue Flora in Hamburg. Fifty 

one intoxicating songs and electrifying dance routines brought the summer 

of 1963 exhilaratingly to life on stage. Following the world premiere of Dirty Dancing in Sydney in 

November 2004, the Hamburg production broke all records for advance sales and went on to win the 

hearts of the public and critics alike. In 2008, Dirty Dancing opened in Utrecht to rave reviews and sell 

out houses. 

Frances ‘Baby’ is spending the summer with her parents and sister at Kellerman’s resort. When she 

meets Johnny, the irresistible dance instructor, she’s swept off her feet and the stage is set for a timeless 

story of first love and a summer that Baby will never forget.

Wicked – the untold story of the witches of Oz - has been one of the biggest 

hits of the last decade in London and New York. Based on the best 

selling novel by Gregory Maguire, this spellbinding musical transports 

audiences to an enchanting world of wizards and witches. 

Long before Dorothy dropped in, two girls – Glinda, beautiful, ambitious 

and very popular, and Elphaba, smart, fiery and born with emerald green skin – become unlikely friends. 

Wicked tells their incredible story and how one came to be called ‘good’ and the other ‘wicked’. See Wicked 

and discover that not everything you’ve been told about the land of Oz is true… 

Wicked is an international hit which has seen by over five million people. The New York production picked 

up three Tony Awards and composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz won a Grammy for the original cast 

recording.

Inspired by the classic story, Disney’s Tarzan features a brand new score by 

Phil Collins. When a shipwreck leaves a little baby orphaned on the West 

African coast, a gorilla tribe takes the helpless boy into its care. Years later, 

he meets another human being for the very first time – Jane Porter, a curious 

young explorer – and both their worlds are changed forever… 

The first European production opened at the Circustheater on 25th March 2007 and subsequently won 

two Musical Awards. This was followed by a second production at the Neue Flora Theater in Hamburg in 

October 2008. In a groundbreaking deal, Stage Entertainment joined forces with Sat 1 and Eyeworks 

Germany to cast the two lead roles for the German production live on television. Over the course of six 

spectacular live broadcasts, the German public chose Anton Zetterholm and Elisabeth Hubert to play the 

coveted roles of Tarzan and Jane.

A tale as old as time 

Based on the hugely successful animated feature, Beauty and the Beast 

was Disney’s first foray into the world of musicals. With music by Alan 

Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, it opened on Broadway 

in 1994. Stage Entertainment and Disney jointly created a new version 

of the show for Europe, which has enjoyed great success in Holland, Germany and Spain.

CATS was hailed as revolutionary when it opened in London in 1981 and it 

has delighted audiences across the globe ever since. It is probably one of 

the most popular and best loved musicals of all time. Inspired by T S Elliott’s 

‘Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats’, Andrew Lloyd Webber redefined 

what musical theatre could be. Quite simply, there had been nothing quite 

like CATS before. A magnificent score, spectacular design, breathtaking 

dance as well as the international hit song Memory, have made CATS a phenomenal and long lasting hit. 

The Moscow production of CATS was Stage Entertainment’s first production for the Russian market. Perhaps 

even more importantly, CATS was the first ever long running musical in the Netherlands, marking a 

breakthrough for the genre and firmly establishing musical theatre in the country.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera has played a hugely 

important part in Stage Entertainment’s history. The production was the 

opening show at the renovated Circustheater in the Netherlands in 1990. 

This was the first time that a production had been presented as open 

ended run rather than as a limited season. It was seen by over 1.8 million 

people, a remarkable achievement in a country with a population of only 16 

million. The Phantom of the Opera also marked Stage Entertainment’s entry into Stuttgart, Germany 

where, once again, audiences were thrilled by the magic and romance of the show.

Ciske de Rat is a new musical, developed by Creative Development together 

with the Dutch production team, based on the renowned and much loved 

series of three novels by Dutch author Piet Bakker. A story about an eleven 

year old street urchin living in Amsterdam in the twenties, the 1984 film 

version of Ciske de Rat starring Danny de Munk, is regarded by many as a 

classic. 

With his father off at sea, young Ciske lives off wits and his sense of humour. But his hard life has given 

him a temper and in one intense fit of rage he fatally wounds his mother. Given one more chance to redeem 

himself, will Ciske make the right choice? 

More than 20 years ago, Danny de Munk won the hearts of a generation with his performance as the 

young Ciske. In a real casting coup he returned to play the adult Ciske in the musical. Ciske de Rat is the 

first in a series of new musicals to be developed by Stage Entertainment. The production, which toured 

the Netherlands during the 2007/2008 season and was extended during the next season, opened to rave 

reviews, played to sold out houses and won seven Musical Awards.

Sam Mendes’ award-winning production of Cabaret re-invented the classic 

Kander and Ebb musical for the 21st Century. Hard hitting, moving and 

brilliantly conceived, Cabaret remains a compelling and powerful piece of 

theatre. 

Cabaret tells the gripping story of a group of people who never thought the 

party would end, only to find themselves caught in a moment when the world would change forever. At 

the heart of the story is Sally Bowles, played by Liza Minnelli in the Oscar winning film, and still one of the 

best female roles ever created for a musical. Kander and Ebb’s legendary score includes the songs Cabaret, 

Don’t Tell Mama and Maybe This Time.

High School Musical burst onto the cultural landscape first as a smash hit 

Disney Channel Original Movie and then as a chart topping soundtrack 

album. Now, for the first time, Disney’s High School Musical has hit the 

stage in a spectacular production featuring a cast of 34 performers, a live 

orchestra, all our favourite characters and songs from the movie as well as 

two new songs written especially for the stage version. 

High School Musical is the irresistible story of two teenagers – Troy, super popular captain of the basketball 

team, and Gabriella, super-smart student and a genius in science class – who follow their dreams 

and land the lead roles in the school show. 

The UK tour has been playing to packed houses at theatres across the country with tickets selling out 

days after going on sale. A second production played a ten week summer season at the Hammersmith 

Apollo in London in 2008. The stage show has become a must see for every fan of the film.

The Wiz is a re-telling of The Wizard of Oz, set in Harlem, New York. First 

seen in New York in 1975, the show won eight Tony Awards including Best 

Musical, Best Book and Best Score. The 1978 film starred Diana Ross and 

Michael Jackson. 

The Wizard of Oz is part of the cultural landscape in the UK and the USA; 

it’s a film that families revisit again and again. Whilst audiences in the Netherlands are less familiar with 

the story, they were charmed by the irrepressible enthusiasm and energy of this thrilling musical.

Tanz der Vampire has been a huge success across Europe. The 1967 film 

comedy The Fearless Vampire Killers or Pardon Me, But Your Teeth are in 

My Neck, was developed into the stage musical Tanz der Vampire in 1997. 

The show opened in Vienna, receiving rave reviews and winning six out of 

nine categories, including Best Musical, in the 1998 Musical Awards. Over 

805,000 people saw it during the three year run in Vienna. 

In 2000, the production transferred to the Apollo Theater in Stuttgart where it quickly acquired a cult following 

and became a box office phenomenon. After three successful years, the production transferred to 

the Theater Neue Flora in Hamburg and it moved in 2006 to the prestigious Theater des Westens in Berlin. 

In 2008, Tanz der Vampire took up residence at the Metronom Theater in Oberhausen, Germany.

Fame is one of the most successful musicals produced in the UK over the 

past twenty years. Inspired by the Oscar winning film and the eighties television 

series, the musical has been seen by over five million people and 

grossed more than £70 million at the UK box office. 

Following a group of students at New York’s School for the Performing Arts, Fame is packed with high 

energy dance routines, a pulsating score and a cast of 30 of the UK’s most talented young performers.

Aida celebrated its European premiere at the Circustheater on 21st 

October 2001, the very first production outside of New York. With music 

and lyrics by Elton John and Tim Rice, the Broadway production won four 

Tony Awards. Telling the story of the impossible love between the Egyptian 

army captain, Radames, and the slave girl, Aida, it’s a musical packed with 

intrigue, passion and treachery. Elton John and Tim Rice’s score is a 

powerful mix of high powered rock and pop songs and stirring ballads. 

The Dutch production co-presented by Joop van den Ende Theaterproductions and Disney Theatricals 

picked up three Musical Awards in the Netherlands. This was followed by a spectacular premiere at the 

Colosseum Theater, Essen, where the show drew audiences from across Germany. A hugely successful 

tour of German speaking markets followed.

Based on Victor Hugo’s epic novel, Les Misérables is one of the most popular 

and most successful musicals ever created. 

The London production opened in 1985 and twenty two years later it is the 

longest running musical in West End history. Les Misérables has been seen 

by over 51 million people in 38 countries and it has won countless awards 

including nine Tony Awards, three Theatre World Awards and five Drama Desk Awards. 

Released on parole after nineteen years in prison, Jean Valjean seeks to overcome the many obstacles 

that prevent him from starting afresh. It’s an epic story with universal themes as relevant today as when 

Victor Hugo first put pen to paper. 

Following a hugely successful Dutch tour in the early nineties, Stage Entertainment reopened the historic 

Theater des Westens in Berlin with this extraordinary musical in 2003. A new Dutch production opened in 

Rotterdam on 20 April 2008.

When Jesus Christ Superstar first exploded onto the West End stage in 

1972 it was clear that the musical world would never be the same again. 

Acclaimed as a theatrical masterpiece at the time of its premiere, Tim Rice 

and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar has become a theatrical 

legend. 

Jesus Christ Superstar is an epic retelling of the last days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth. This unique 

musical is as powerful and compelling today as the day it was written. 

In the 2005/6 season, Stage Entertainment presented a new production in Holland directed by Paul Eenens, 

best known for his daring work on Passion, 3 Musketeers and Ciske de Rat. Another new production 

of Jesu Cristo Superstar opened in Madrid in September 2007 and was followed by a Spanish tour.

The musical Elisabeth is inspired by the life of the Empress of Austria – a 

life full of contradictions, heartache and loneliness. 

When sixteen-year-old Elisabeth married the Emperor of Austria it seemed 

that she was destined to live a fairytale life. Who would have guessed that 

it would all end with a tragic murder? Suffocated by the strict conventions 

of court life, Elisabeth travelled restlessly through Europe, searching for the things that would always 

elude her – love and happiness. 

The true story of Elisabeth inspired Sylvester Levay and Michael Kunze to create what has become the 

most successful German language musical of all time. Their haunting melodies, moving lyrics and epic 

productions have delighted more than six million theatregoers in Vienna, the Netherlands, Germany and 

Japan. Elisabeth has been recognised in all categories in the influential German magazine ‘Musicals’ and 

audiences in the Netherlands honoured the show with the Best Musical Award.

Almost twelve years since Evita was first seen in the Netherlands, a new 

production toured the country as part of the 2007/2008 theatre season. 

The title role for this new production was cast live on national television over 

several weeks with a panel of judges giving their feedback to each of the 

contestants. The final decision was up to the viewing public who chose 

Brigitte Heltzer to take on one of the most coveted leading roles in musical theatre. 

Brigitte has been thrilling audiences with her mesmerising performance as Eva Peron, the Argentine girl 

who charmed and fought her way up to a position of enormous power and wealth. Evita being one of 

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s finest scores, and this new production includes not only the show stopping Don’t 

Cry for Argentina but also You Must Love Me, originally written for the film starring Madonna. 

The original production of Evita won countless awards including seven Tony Awards in New York, the 

Olivier for Best Musical in London and a Grammy for the original cast recording.

Batman, Superman, Spiderman – there is a long list of legends who are 

mild mannered citizens by day but dashing heroes when the need arises. 

Many people are unaware that the genre was created nearly a century ago 

with the debut of the very first modern masked hero of them all: Zorro. 

In 1919 Johnston McCulley wrote a five-part short story called The Curse 

of Capistrano and introduced the world to Don Diego, a Spanish nobleman who disguises himself in a 

mask and cape to defend the people of California from the evil designs of villains and corrupt officials. 

Hollywood star Douglas Fairbanks quickly adapted the short story into a screenplay, The Mask of Zorro, 

which he produced and starred in. This legendary story of good versus evil has been a source of enduring 

fascination and the subject of a best selling novel by producer Isabel Allende and several major 

motion pictures. This new musical retells the dramatic tale of a romantic hero with extraordinary choreography 

and spectacular sword-fighting – all set to the exciting, evocative Gipsy Kings beat.

sharp, white flared suit, he parts the crowd like Moses parted the red sea. 

Saturday Night Fever tells the story of an ambitious, talented and streetwise 

Brooklyn kid with a burning desire to make it big. Packed with disco 

hits from the biggest selling movie soundtrack ever, Saturday Night Fever 

includes the classics Stayin’ Alive, Night Fever, Jive Talkin’, You Should be 

Dancing and How Deep is Your Love. 

This musical brings a decade and a culture to life, with explosive energy and emotion. It is one of the 

world’s great dance musicals. 

Saturday Night Fever has played in London, the Netherlands, New York and around the world and opens 

in Madrid in February 2009.

Broadway’s smash hit comedy Hairspray opened in London’s West End on 

11 th October 2007. The much-anticipated production, starring one of the 

UK’s biggest musical stars, Michael Ball, has picked up a fistful of awards, 

including the prestigious Olivier for Best Musical. 

Set in 1960s Baltimore, Hairspray centres on Tracey Turnblad, a big girl 

with big hair and an even bigger heart, whose one and only passion is to dance. When she wins a spot 

on a local TV dance show, she is transformed from outsider to teen celebrity overnight. 

Based on John Waters’ cult film, Hairspray has been a mega hit in New York since opening in 2002. The 

Broadway production scooped up a phenomenal eight Tony Awards including Best Musical as well as a 

Grammy for the original cast recording.

The musical, 3 Musketeers, tells a classic story, with the emphasis is placed 

on ideals, honesty, manipulation, youth and the passage to adulthood. 

D’Artagnan is a romantic boy with strong feelings of honour. The consummate 

hero. When he leaves his home to travel the world and realize his 

dreams, he is confronted with the reality of the adult world. D’Artagnan experiences 

love and friendship, but also disappointment and loss. The 

theme of the musical underscores the current need for heroes and the need to fight for ideals and values. 

Joop van den Ende has personally taken charge of this production in the Netherlands, Berlin and Stuttgart 

because he believed that it was time to translate this classic story of heroism and grace, valor and 

courage into original, modern theatrical images.

Ich will Spass! is a new musical developed by Creative Development that is 

set in Germany in the eighties, the decade of Rubik’s Cube, neon colors, 

Nena, and demonstrations for peace. It follows the lives of two young girls 

on the road to adulthood as they struggle to find the courage to follow their 

hearts and make their own decisions. And they discover that choices have 

consequences. The musical tells the story of a generation coming to age 

during these turbulent years to the music of the Deutsche Neue Welle, with 

unforgettable hits like ‘99 Luftballons’ and ‘Leuchtturm’ by Nena, ‘Ich will Spass’ by Markus, ‘Da Da Da’ 

by Trio and ‘Sternenhimmel’ by Hubert Kah - making Ich will Spass! a rousing and very entertaining musical 

tribute to the fabulous eighties. 

Ich will Spass! opened on 5 October 2008 in the Colloseum Theater in Essen.

Der Schuh des Manitu is a musical comedy based on one of the most successful 

German films of recent years. Comedian Michael Bully Herbig’s film 

tells a fast paced story with whipcrack humour – a Lone Ranger for the 

Monty Python generation. The antics of Abahachi and Ranger were enjoyed 

by eleven million people on film – now the Wild West has come alive 

again as a major musical, inspired by an international creative team. 

Der Schuh des Manitu opened in December 2008 at the Theater des (wilden) Westens in Berlin.

Together with no-one less than Whoopi Goldberg, Stage Entertainment will 

produce the musical Sister Act, based on the smash-hit movie. When 

disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is put in protective 

custody in the one place cops are sure she won't be found – a convent! 

Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle 

and an uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing 

talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community, but in doing so blows 

her cover. Soon the gang are giving chase, only to find themselves up against Deloris and the power of 

her new found Sister Hood. 

Sister Act features a brand new score by eight time Oscar winner Alan Menken whose credits include 

Little Shop of Horrors, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and most recently the hit movie Enchanted. 

Sister Act is a divine new musical comedy, raising the roof at the London Palladium from May 2009.

Blue Man Group brings together live music, comedy and drama to create 

one breathtaking experience. A powerful blend of stunning images, 

dynamic rhythms and dazzling spectacle, Blue Man Group is an essential 

theatrical experience. A long time hit in cities across the US, many European 

producers had tried to bring this unique entertainment across the 

Atlantic without success. It was only Stage Entertainment’s exceptional 

understanding of the complexities of productions such as Blue Man Group coupled with its commercial 

and creative approach to marketing, that managed to overcome the challenges in bringing the show to 

Europe. The first production opened at the Theater am Potsdamer Platz in Berlin in May 2004 with more 

following in London, Amsterdam, Oberhausen and Stuttgart. The Berlin production has subsequently 

transferred to a former Imax Cinema, now re-named the Bluemax Theater.

One of the BBC’s top rating shows, Strictly Come Dancing regularly attracts 

audiences of over 12 million. With director and choreographer Arlene 

Philips at the helm, the spectacular live show has been touring arenas 

across the UK giving audiences the chance to join the celebrities, dance 

champions and the all-important judges for Strictly Come Dancing – Live! 

The show completely captures the spirit and fun which has made the TV 

show into a global success and plans are already underway for a third arena tour in 2010.

Dinnershow of Dreams is the latest dinner show created by Frank Wentink 

and the Dutch event company Wentink Events. The company was founded 

25 years ago. Over the last decades, the concept of a show combined with 

a first class dinner has proven to be a favorite evening for audiences from all 

over Holland. 

The new show is presented at Studio 21 on the Media Park in Hilversum, where the stage is set for an 

unforgettable evening. The audience is treated to an extravaganza of singing and dancing while dinner is 

served by premium catering company OSeven. Cutting edge technology – lighting, lasers, sound, fabulous 

sets, hydraulic platforms and 3D projections used to turn the evening into an exceptional event.

For over two thousand years Earth, Air, Fire and Water have made up the 

elements of nature and have been the foundation stones of modern Eastern 

philosophy. Holiday on Ice uses these four ingredients in their spectacular 

production Elements. 

This stunning ice show features a unique set design by Bart Clement with 

costumes by David Shields and music by Maurice Luttikhuis. Directed and choreographed by Robin 

Cousins and choreographed by Karen Kresge, Elements translates the concepts of form, balance, creation 

and harmony into an emotionally charged, spiritual journey. 

Each scene is inspired by one of the four elements and the show takes audiences on a global journey 

that begins with dawn in Asia. The show continues with the energy of the Celtic Reel, the wonder and excitement 

of a Chinese firework festival before exploring the beauty of the native American Pow Wow.

Energia is Holiday on Ice’s latest production and breaks new ground in live 

entertainment. Energia takes audiences on an epic journey through time 

and space to discover how the universe is connected. 

“The more positively aware you are, the more energy and light you radiate”. 

Light is used as a metaphor for energy, and is used in many playful and 

imaginative ways throughout the show. The clever use of a “Red Ribbon” symbolises how the universe is 

connected. The story around two charming and endearing scientist clowns – called E=MC2 – who somehow 

resemble the great Professor Einstein but also represent awareness and the spirit of discovery. 

Energia will engage audiences of all ages in new and exciting ways. It has more spectacular costumes, 

which actually pulsate with light to the rhythm of the music, astonishing stunts, even fragrances which 

enhance the effects. 

Just over 100 years after the first staging of the famous J.M. Barrie play, 

Holiday on Ice and its Kids Ice Show division present the story of Peter Pan 

on Ice. The celebrated boy who could fly and did not want to grow up once 

again enchants audiences all over the world. The well known characters of 

Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Wendy and her brothers fight Captain Hook and his 

pirates. 

Director Robin Cousins MBE, one of the 25 most influential people in world skating according to International 

Figure Skating Magazine, has managed to give the well-known story a fresh look. Peter Pan on Ice 

captivates audiences of all ages with its lavish costumes and breathtaking special effects including spectacular 

flying acts, magnificent figure skating and comedy.

Holiday on Ice has successfully adapted Jules Verne’s masterpiece 

‘Around the World in 80 Days’ – with a Looney Tunes’ touch. The show 

tours under the title “Around the World in 80 Minutes” and features Phileas 

Fogg and Passepartout visiting different countries as they race around the 

globe. But this time they also meet up with Bugs Bunny and all the favorite 

Looney Tunes characters – Daffy Duck, Tweety, Sylvester, Speedy Gonzales, 

Granny, and the Tasmanian Devil – who are on a race of their own. 

The result is a zany, whacky adventure, with all the fun of the classic Warner Bros. cartoons, music, explosions, 

laughs, and of course the world class skating that is the trademark of Holiday on Ice. Jules 

Verne, the so-called ‘father of science fiction’, published his best seller ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ for 

the first time in 1872. Since then, the book has become one of the most translated stories of all time and 

one of the most popular novels in the world.
