Activity 8: Sequence of Events<br />

Read the list of events below. Decide which of the six events happened first. Place the<br />

However, the sequence is interrupted at two points in the story when Ponyboy describes<br />

incidents that took place sometime in the past. One has to do with Johnny and the other<br />

with Sodapop. Briefly describe these two incidents and tell why you think the author<br />

presented them in such detail even though they had happened before the main story<br />

began. Reread chapters 2 and 3 to refresh your memory about the two passages.<br />
