We wish Fr. Pat Malone every success too in his new
parish of Portroe and thank him for all his hard work
and friendship and kindness in his four years here. You
have touched the lives of so many people by your
gentle and caring presence. May God bless you in your
new parish and new responsibilities as Vicar General
of the Diocese of Killaloe. We are glad you are not
gone too far from all your friends here in Nenagh.

After 10 very happy and fulfilled years in Nenagh I
retire this weekend from active ministry on health
grounds. While I will continue to help out in the parish
assisting the Parish Team I will no longer be included
in the weekly Mass Rota as my voice doesn’t allow me
to do so. I thank everyone for their kindness, consideration
and love as I struggled to meet my commitments
in recent times. In particular my gratitude to the readers
who assisted me with the reading of the Gospel in recent
months. Good liturgy demand that the Word of
God be proclaimed in a clear voice. I will still be involved
in the running of the Pastoral Centre.

Events in the Pastoral Centre
Abundance Prayer Group will recommence on
Wednesday 5 th September at 7.30pm in the Pastoral
Centre. All are welcome. For more information phone

starting in September in the Pastoral Centre. Contact

Nenagh Bereavement Support Group offers
support to the bereaved in our community. We need
new members. Are you interested Join us for further
information and a cuppa on Thursday Sept. 20 th in the
Pastoral Centre at 7.30pm.

Dear Lord,
As our children, leave for school, we pray that you will
keep them in your care. Send your Spirit to open their
minds to all that is true and beautiful and good. Help
them to see the gifts and talents you have given them
and to use them well. Help them to grow in knowledge
and wisdom. Help them to be kind to others and lead
others to be kind to them. Give their teachers patience
and understanding and help them teach what is just and
true. Send your angels to guide and guard our children
and to keep them from all harm. Open their young
hearts to your presence and enfold them in your peace
and protection. Hold them in the palm of your hand
and bring them home safely at day’s end. We make this
prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.

CBS Primary School re-opens on Monday 3 rd September at
9.10am and closes at 12.30pm. Normal hours from Tues onwards.
The Dominican Biblical Institute in Limerick is offering
a course to help people to deepen their understanding
of Scripture and their Faith, and to prepare
them to share this with others. The course is
offered over a three year period, on one full Saturday and
one late evening each month from September to May. An
Open Evening will be held at the Institute on
Wednesday 5 th September, 5-8pm.

Pieta House Suicide Awareness Week 10 th -17 th September
2012. Monday September 10 th officially marks World Suicide
Prevention Day and here at Pieta House we want to create
awareness of the unique service we provide. We believe Mental
health is a basic human right, we want to enforce the message
that as a community we need to embrace people who are in acute
distress. This year we are asking people to reach out within their
communities, to come together to organise or participate in one
event or fundraising activity in support of Pieta House. You can

A Healing programme for Suicide Bereaved will
commence at 7pm on Monday 10 th September 2012 at Mount St.

Nenagh Active Retirement meetings will resume at the
Library on Thursday 13 th September commencing with a
committee meeting at 1.00pm, followed by an Extraordinary
General Meeting at 2.00pm.It is very important for all members
to attend and participate. New members are most welcome.
Medugorje Afternoon Prayer recommences on Monday 3 rd
September at 4pm in the Day Care Centre. Please come along
and pray with us.
Art Exhibition—Nenagh Day Care Centre are hosting an Art
Exhibition on Monday 3 rd September for the month of September
in Nenagh Library and we would appreciate your support.
Enjoy Praying Programme is a group programme based on
the Bible. It’s purpose is to support individuals in developing a
deeper spiritual life. There will be 6 weekly sessions lasting 1½
approx, every Wednesday night at 7.30pm in Silvermines Parish.
It will begin on Wed 19 th September. If you are interested or need

Club Rince set dancing classes starting Tuesday 11 th September
in Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh. Beginners class 8—9pm; Advanced

Nenagh Apostolic Workers wish to say a sincere thank you to
all who subscribed to our church ground collection on Sunday
last 26 th August. We are very grateful to all who helped on the

Volunteers required for Riding for the Disabled, Wednesday

and adults with disabilities. It is held at McDonnell’s Riding
