<strong>Richard</strong> <strong>Campanella</strong>, a geographer with <strong>the</strong> Tulane School of Architecture, is <strong>the</strong> author of six critically acclaimed books<br />

on <strong>the</strong> geography of New Orleans. His research, which integrates mapping and spatial analyses with <strong>the</strong> social sciences<br />

and humanities, has been praised in <strong>the</strong> Journal of Sou<strong>the</strong>rn History, Urban History, Places, Louisiana History, Journal of<br />

<strong>the</strong> Abraham Lincoln Association, and Bloomsbury Re<strong>view</strong>; cited regularly in <strong>the</strong> New Orleans Times-Picayune and New<br />

York Times; and featured on NPR, CBS Evening News, PBS NewsHour, CNN, and BBC. The only two-time winner of <strong>the</strong><br />

Louisiana Endowment for <strong>the</strong> Humanities Book of <strong>the</strong> Year Award, <strong>Campanella</strong> has also received <strong>the</strong> Williams Prize for<br />

Louisiana History, <strong>the</strong> Mortar Board Award for Excellence in Teaching from <strong>the</strong> Newcomb College Institute of Tulane<br />
